I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. -- 1Timothy 2:12-14 (ESV)

Kris Vallotton is the number two pastor in charge at the largest cesspool of false teaching on the planet -- Bethel Church. Vallotton and Bethel teach and agree with nearly all false doctrines being foisted upon the body of Christ today. He is a huge prosperity heretic who reinforces the NAR dominionist agenda as well as the experiential church replacing the verity of scripture. The bible is not something he strives to understand as much as he wants to leverage it for his own warped teachings. It is not hyperbole to say that he and Bill Johnson are two of the most dangerous teachers in Christianity today. Honestly, I do not understand why people find Vallotton so hard to discern. He rarely ever uses the bible correctly and is always proof texting conclusions he has already reached. Now, he fancies himself an expert on the Christo-feminism wars and has written a new book advocating for women to be disobedient to the word of God and serve in authority with teaching and preaching over men within the Christ's church. He recently did an article which we thoroughly debunked and within it, he gave away two chapters of his new book for free. Last week we reviewed Chapter Five, where he claimed Jesus founded the Women's Liberation movement. Today we will look at Chapter Six, where he sharpens his butcher knives upon the Apostle Paul. We showed last time the gross deception he traffics in to make his points so this time, we will try to focus even more on how wildly unbiblical Vallotton is. Buckle up beloved, it gets wildly heretical from here on (all quotes are from Vallotton).

"For years I have read Paul's exhortation to the Corinthians that "women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak . . . for it is improper for a woman to speak in church" (1 Corinthians 1 4:34--35) and have wondered how I could weasel my way out of these verses. My desire was to be relevant to the twenty-first century and still say that I honestly believe the Bible is the inherent Word of God. Most of the time I just ignored the verses, rationalizing that men who knew the Bible better than I did were allowing women to speak; therefore they must have some biblical reason why it is okay."

It amazes me that he would be this honest but Vallotton openly admits that his goal is to weasel out of what the word of God says! Yes! That is entirely the point! His desire is not to please God or even hear from Him but rather to be relevant and still say with a straight face that he believes scripture is inherent [sic]. He further openly admits that he just ignored the verses because others were working in contradiction to them so they must somehow be right! Wow, what an insight into the depraved mind and how it rationalizes. Note that he also is setting up the easier argument in his mind, which is to attack the Corinthian verses instead of dealing with the key verses found in Timothy. Without rehashing the entire debate here, the Timothy verses are clear and directive. There is no ambiguity and no contrary scripture. So what Christo-feminists do it they scour the bible to find other verses or narratives they can read into and place their beliefs upon in order to dismiss what is clear and directive. That is the opposite of sound hermeneutics.

"The Bible is broken up into two sections, one entitled the Old Testament and the other called the New Testament. There are 252 commands and laws in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament even the Ten Commandments are reduced to two: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself (see Luke 10:27). Remember in the last chapter, I told you that first century Judaism was much more restrictive than the Old Testament Law? Here is a great example: Judaism had 613 commandments and laws!"

I included this to again highlight the duplicity of Vallotton and how horrible he is at handling the word of God. the bottom line is the Ten Commandments were not "reduced" to anything. This is the sloppy agape teachings of Bethel. Now, Vallotton chose the Luke version of this exchange because the Matthew context blows away his silly argument:

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." -- Matthew 22:36-40 (ESV)
