Dr. Michael Brown - Dances With Wolves

By       (Page 2 of 2 pages)   5 comments

Besides shameless ear tickling preaching Prince also routinely mangles the Bible to prop up his false theologies. Prince has preached entire sermons on the claim that God is never angry with us anymore and never seeks to chastise us. The problem is the Bible does not contain such a God so Prince must take stories we all know mean one thing and pretend they mean something else. Take the story of Noah for example, which everyone knows is the culmination of the wrath of God upon a sinful world. Not so for Joseph Prince who will never speak of God in wrathful terms. So he alters the account of Noah. He changes it. He pretends that Noah was the last pure bred human alive. That everyone else was tainted by the Nephilim, despite the text simply not supporting it. But by making Noah the last pure human, he can then make the case that the flood was an act of love to preserve humanity because of how much God loved us. Is that what the Bible teaches us?

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them." - Genesis 6: 5-7 (ESV)

Beloved this is not a joke. This is a serious matter of rewriting God's Word. Only in the depraved mind of Joseph Prince is the flood a story of God's grace instead of His wrath. Realize something. Without the wrath of God there is no need for a Savior. This is a dangerous road Prince travels on. Similarly to Noah, Prince has a problem with the account of Ananias and Sapphira because God struck them dead! That sure sounds like an angry God! Not to Prince! He preached an entire message about how Ananias and Sapphira were actually unbelievers.

But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? - Acts 5: 3 (ESV)

This sole verse destroys his argument that Ananias and Sapphira were unbelievers. Not to mention the overall context but this verse alone makes Prince out to either be a liar or a fool. How can an unbeliever lie to the Holy Spirit? Answer? He can't! These are not isolated incidents beloved. Joseph Prince is on record multiple times as claiming that God gave him this false gospel. So every week, his preaching's primary goal is to prop up this falseness. So when he preached on Revelation and the Church at Laodicea, he actually claimed that when Jesus was talking about hot, cold and lukewarm, He was secretly talking about the Prince Grace Revolution! Prince taught that hot meant grace and cold meant law so the lukewarm reference is when someone tries to mix law and grace. Say what? Where in the world did he get that from? He simply made it up. Just like he made up a new definition for the word "repent" by twisting the Parable of the 99 and the one.

" Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. - Luke 15: 4-7 (NIV)

At this point in the sermon, Prince reflects upon how he was always confused by how this parable ended and he exasperatingly asks - "where did the sheep repent?" He went on to "teach" that the shepherd went to find the sheep. The shepherd found the sheep and placed the sheep on his shoulders. The shepherd then brought the sheep back but where exactly did the sheep repent? His next quote cuts to the heart of the dangers of hyper-grace and the importance of discernment:

"We have all these crazy ideas about repentance but all it really means is to consent to be loved."

Wow. Crazy ideas about repentance. Do we understand how dangerous this man is? How dangerous his teachings are? That he would preach to people seeking God that repent means just to consent to be loved is so disgustingly unfair. How many false converts will stand before Christ saying "Lord Lord" because Prince duped them into thinking they only had to consent to be loved. How spiritually criminal. How utterly spiritually criminal. I could go on and on because these are not the aberrations. This is the norm. Just search for Prince on my website and you can find countless other devotionals dedicated to exposing the false teachings of this man.

For now however, I return to Dr. Brown. Is this truly the man you want to be lined up with? Is this who you want to dance with? To loan your credibility to? It is not just the 11 questions you asked him regarding his horrific greasy grace teachings. That would be enough to disqualify him. What about the rest of his teachings? What about his book Destined to Reign? Here is an excerpt:

Discover the secret of reigning over every adversity, lack and destructive habit that is limiting you from experiencing the success, wholeness and victory that you were destined to enjoy. Find out how it is not about what you have to do, but what has already been done. It is not about what you must accomplish, but what has already been accomplished for you. It is not about using your will power to effect change, but His power changing you. Start reigning over sickness, financial lack, broken relationships and destructive habits today!

Is this something you want to stand with? Are we not supposed to rebuke those that preach falsely? Is it not doctrine such as this that truly divides the body of Christ? I know you want to show grace and mercy to everyone. I do not question your motives only your actions. When you write a friendly article seeking a dialogue you automatically convey stature upon Prince that he has not earned and does not deserve. It is time to take off your dancing shoes Dr. Brown and see who it is that you have been dating.
