Notice what it always comes back to though? His Word. Doctrine. The goose bumps and liver shivers will not sustain you beloved. Our walk has to be so much more than the hour and a half we spend in church on Sundays. We must actually put His teachings into practice in our lives. Knowledge without application is useless. Notice the subtle comparison Jesus is making here. It is not between those in the world and those in the church. Not at all. Both groups are claiming Christ but only one is putting His Word into action in their lives. They develop a strong foundation. But if we merely hear the Word and then go about our regular lives as if it had no meaning beyond the sanctuary then we are in deep trouble. We must discern today what were are building our faith upon. We must discern today if we truly have a regenerate heart. The Bible says we ought to test ourselves. We must discern today what is false from the unwavering truth of the Bible. There are no shades of grey.
