There has to be more to life than this. The good news is there is more than this life. There is an eternal life awaiting:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I

We were created for fellowship with our creator. It is what is missing in us when we are born. It is what we strive for our whole lives. It is that piece that seems to not fit right; or is missing from who we are. We try to fill it with the solutions of the world. We fill it with pride and lust, anger and resentment. We fill it with alcohol, drugs or medication. We fill it with higher education, rapidly advancing careers, or the riches this world has to offer. But inside we are still empty, longing for the relationship we were created for with our creator. He wants to wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more mourning, crying or pain. The dwelling of God will be with man.
But the time is short beloved. The world has done a good job of making hell a caricature. A cartoon; with a guy with a tail and pitchfork running the place. The world mocks the notion of hell. Without the notion of hell and the devil, there is no consequence for sin. Without a consequence for sin, there is no need for a Savior. Man essentially becomes God, deciding what is right and wrong according to his own personal views. A God made in the image of man will always fail. Because in the end, there always has to be more than this life.
Realize too that God does not "send anyone to hell." People willingly choose to go. Hell is eternal separation from God. It is described often in God's Word in terms that should keep us concerned for those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In this world of political correctness, it has become vogue to water down the truth. To say that there are many paths to heaven. That we all worship the same God. If only it were that easy. Man needs to believe that so that he can continue to live in rebellion while thinking he will live forever. The Gospel however, is not politically correct:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14: 6
There is no equivocation in the words of Jesus here. He IS the way. He IS the truth. He IS the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Him. This is what Jesus meant when he said He had come to bring a sword:
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn "'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' Matthew 10: 34-36
