This Week in NAR Dominionist Absurdity - Voting Democratic is Sinful

According to this one snippet. Is Mathis argument that the entire platform is evil? That everything with a "D" next to its name must somehow now be our enemy? When they write about clean water, good education systems, and protecting voting rights are they still evil? Is the position of Mathis that because he thinks the GOP is right on this issue they are now righteous all around? That is the problem you run into when you try to find the lesser of two evils. You lose sight that you end up defending evil. The people that make up the Republican Party are just as lost as those that make up the Democratic Party. You cannot confer any righteousness upon them. Then in the most hypocritical of ways, Mathis defends the extreme immorality of the party leader he worships in exchange for what he promises to do. Do not lose sight of this. The argument being made here is based upon things each party SAYS they are going to do regarding marriage, not what they actually have done. Yet the man Mathis champions as his standard-bearer is on his third marriage and has cheated on every single one of them, sometimes with porn stars. Do you think that hypocrisy is not noticed by the lost? This is why we are supposed to do everything for the Lord's sake.

"Compare that to the Democratic platform and Democratic candidates. The Democratic Party's official position regarding sex and marriage denies and defiles God's standard. Which means there is only one way a Democratic candidate could be an immoral contradiction to their party's moral standard. They would have to speak the truth that "Marriage is a blessed union given to us by God and it is the only union in which sex is to be enjoyed between one man and one woman for life." Remember, these candidates are willingly members of a party that categorically rejects God's standard. When it comes to what God has decreed regarding sex and marriage there is no truth in the Democratic Party. The only morality they seek to legislate is what God has plainly decreed to be abominable and only brings His wrath." -- Tedd Mathis

Yeah, no. God's wrath is coming to judge all nations and it will not be because of a document written by one political party or another. Sin is not abstract. Here is a topical example. During the height of the Lewinsky affair, the Republicans led the charge about truth and honor and decency. It was the hard sell on morality 24-7 and the three top Republicans leading that choir were Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston, and Dennis Hastert. What they said sounded solid. It sounded pious. Christians applauded all three men as they demanded the scalp of Bill Clinton. Fast forward a decade and God revealed the truth about these three men. At the same time they were pounding their fists in the air while the church cheered Gingrich was secretly having an affair on his wife with a woman half his age. Livingston had so many affairs the GOP demanded he resign and Hastert was in the middle of molesting little boys. Not convinced?

The other top morality issue for Mathis and the like is abortion. The Democratic platform supports it and the Republican platform does not. I have seen pastors insist that based on this one issue, no Christian can ever vote Democratic. Yet lost in that ridiculous analysis, is the fact that the Roe decision was given to us by a Republican Supreme Court in a 7-2 decision and was reaffirmed decades later by a different GOP led court. Even the landmark gay marriage case was decided by a GOP led Supreme Court. This is why Mathis' logic is so absurd. According to him then everyone who voted Republican that led to those appointments, is now guilty of sin. That is how blind the NAR perspective makes you. Still not enough? Consider this then. In 2012 we had a choice for president between the Democrat, Obama, and Mitt Romney. Obama clearly was in the party with this platform that Mathis says makes you a sinner and Mitt certainly checked off all the Republican talking points boxes. He was pro-traditional marriage. He was pro-life. So according to Mathis' logic here, the only sinless vote could be cast for Romney. The funny thing is that Mitt Romney is a Mormon. He is a member of a Satanic cult who believes Jesus and Satan are brothers and that one day we too can be gods. Their founder was a pedophile polygamist who committed insurrection against the United States and rewrote major portions of the Bible, including adding two new books to scripture. Maybe we ought to be more concerned about what people actually do, rather than what someone wrote down as a platform. Even if you think not, to pretend that you actually sin because of what someone wrote down four years ago is patently asinine and contrary to scripture. No to mention the myopia of deciding a vote upon a singular issue is equally asinine. The bible speaks far more about how we take care of the least in society then issues of marriage. Horrifically, Mathis concludes:

"Here is why you would be sinning if you vote for a Democratic candidate in 2020.

+ Because you would be willfully casting your vote for their Satanic morality to be legislated not God's.

+ Because you would be willfully joining them in calling evil good (Isaiah 5:20).

+ Because you would be willfully claiming Christ is in harmony with Belial (II Cor. 6:15).
