Free Gift

Ahhh, I am afraid I tricked you a bit. Here is your free gift:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. -- Ephesians 2: 8-10 (NIV)

I do not want to overwhelm you with Christianese. But you need to understand that there is more than this life. Somewhere, deep down you must know that. This is not your best life now. There is a God who created you and He loves you very much. But He is holy, which means He cannot stand for sin. Now the world has done a masterful job of convincing us that we are not that bad by comparing us to other humans. By that standard, we aren't that bad! But when compared to a holy God the Bible says we are as clean as filthy rags. Despite what the devil has convinced the world -- there is a heaven to gain and there is a hell to shun. God wants you with Him but you have to choose. We all have to choose whether we want to be in a relationship with God or not.

If you find yourself today outside a relationship with God, He wants you to know that He has a free gift for you. I don't mean a relationship with a church -- I mean with God Himself! The Bible says that none can come to the Father except through His son Jesus Christ. These verses above from Ephesians assure us that God set aside specific works for you to accomplish once you accept His free gift of eternal life. If you have spent your life trying to feel complete - if you know there has been something missing from your life I pray that you realize today that it is God that is missing. It is only God who can complete you. You were created by God to commune and have fellowship with Him. Since sin separates us from God, there is a God shaped hole in your heart. The world will try to have you fill it with their solutions -- greed, career, lust, drugs, alcohol, anger"but only God can fill it.

You must make a conscious decision to invite God into your heart to fill that empty space. That is a simple matter of praying to Him that you desire to have that relationship with Him. That you recognize that you are a sinner, as we all are, and that you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins. If you are sincere in that prayer you should start to see changes in your life by seeing your desires change to the things of God instead of the things of this world.

Once that happens you need to find a good solid Bible believing church to attend. This is so you can continue to grow in Christ and be around people who believe what you now believe. The world will not give you up without a fight. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me.

I pray you accept your free gift today and enjoy it for eternity!
