But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. What you are about to read may strike you as being satire but I assure you it is all to real. I often wondered what would happen if one absurd "apostle" interviewed an even more absurd "apostle." Yesterday unfortunately I had the opportunity to find out. Self appointed "apostle" Lionel Blair, who once told his congregants that what he did with their tithe money was none of their business, interviewed "apostle" David Taylor for an hour long trip into the dark side of Satan's emissaries posing as angels of light. I do not usually like to speak about the people because the teaching is what needs to be corrected but when it is egregious as it is with these two, I feel compelled. Again, keep in mind that none of this is satire.

If Taylor's name sounds familiar, it should. I have written about him twice this year already, stemming from his embarrassing prophecy that the Denver Broncos were going to win the Super Bowl. As prophecies go, this was a relatively easy one. A 50-50 shot to pretend to display your prophetic bonafides. Denver was the team of choice as well, given that Peyton Manning was a household name. Of course Taylor just missed this one as the Broncos were obliterated 43-8 by the Seattle Seahawks. Seems God must have been a Seahawks fan or at least not a fan of absurd men claiming prophetic gifts they do not possess. This ridiculous prophecy led me to examine the website of the false prophet, where I discovered the Super Bowl prediction was far from the only heretical practice Mr. Taylor was engaged in. It seems he has penned two books about visiting heaven because he claims to essentially have an all access pass. In his first book he claims that within 3-4 months of purchasing the book, you too will have a visitation from Jesus Himself! His follow-up book further compounds this blasphemy. In the second book, "My Trip to Heaven", Taylor claims that Jesus took him to the throne room in the third heaven where he met Father God face to face. I guess the "apostle" never read the Old Testament:

The Lord replied, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will call out my name, Yahweh, before you. For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose. But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live." - Exodus 33: 19-20 (NLT)

This apparently is just one of his many visits to heaven but at least he saved the most blasphemous for his last book. His promises for us who read this book include but are not limited to:

1) Experiencing Jesus coming to you face to face personally

2) Being taken by the Lord personally on a tour to see Heaven

3) Meet God the Father in person

Wow, that is some publishing deal he got from God! He actually has the nerve to put this on his webpage that sells his book! Also, Taylor organizes fake healing crusades and credits Benny Hinn a great deal, just to get a gauge on the scope and source of his many heresies.

Lionel Blair fancies himself a "chief apostle" despite the Bible bestowing that title upon Jesus Himself. His videos always seem shot from some basement somewhere but he has a following. He has claimed the ridiculous supernatural experiences such as angel feathers, gold dust and gem stones. As indicated earlier, he is a tithe abuser, as he told his people their job is to give him the tithe not ask where it goes. So Blair got to interview Taylor last night and talk about one of his favorite subjects; dreams. Here is the audio link to the interview:

Now there was plenty of absurdities to discuss, like when Taylor states that Lucifer was a son of God or when he proudly proclaimed that he "doesn't care about being accurate" when prophesying. There was also a moment where he believes that the Matthew verse that says God will shorten the days for the sake of the elect means He will control the sun and the moon to literally shorten the length of each day. This of course is NOT what that verse means as God is prophesying that He will need to shorten to overall length of time, the days, of the end of the age. As bad as these things are, there was worse. You see David Taylor created a new biblical office last night. Throughout all of history, apparently God was waiting for David Taylor to reveal that there is an office of the dreamer. I kid you not; listen to the interview. Taylor claims that the Lord told him that he needed to restore the lost office of the dreamer. He then claimed that the "attacks" he received over the "Super Bowl thing" were a direct result of his trying to restore that office to the Body of Christ. Apparently we can add false martyr to the growing list of titles he lays hold of. In order to try and support this assertion he mangles a few Bible passages we need to straighten out here. He primarily claims that Joseph was a "dream officer." Taylor then conflates the verse at the end of the story, about God wanting to save many lives, with the fact that Joseph had dreams. These are the verses he speaks of:

But Joseph said to them, "Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. - Genesis 50: 19-20 (ESV)

Joseph is not speaking about the dreams here. He is speaking about the totality of events, and specifically to the evil part his brothers played in it. Taylor claims it was the office of dreamer that led to the saving of many lives. The larger point of course is that there is no establishment of the office of dreamer here. That is patently absurd. Here is the establishment of the offices in the church:

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. - 1Corinthians 12: 28-31 (ESV)

So does David Taylor, a man who could not correctly prophesy a 50-50 guess, expect us to believe that God has revealed to him something He hid from the Apostle Paul when he was writing under direct inspiration? Seriously? Taylor continued however by claiming the office of dreamer is about saving lives. That God may show someone in a dream somebody dying or being killed but if there is a dreamer with him to interpret then God will be merciful and He will say "I have found a ransom. That's what we dream officers are - a ransom. Just like it says in the Book of Job - that the dream officer is God's ransom." Let us take a look at the verses he so casually referred to here:

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds, then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings, that he may turn man aside from his deed and conceal pride from a man; he keeps back his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. "Man is also rebuked with pain on his bed and with continual strife in his bones, so that his life loathes bread, and his appetite the choicest food. His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen, and his bones that were not seen stick out. His soul draws near the pit, and his life to those who bring death. If there be for him an angel, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him, and he is merciful to him, and says,'Deliver him from going down into the pit; I have found a ransom; - Job 33: 15-24 (ESV)

These verses do deal with warnings given to men by God, through dreams or infirmities. The ransom however referenced here is not a "dream officer" but rather, Jesus Christ. This is a foreshadowing of Christ yet this so called "prophet" and "apostle" seems to think it is about him. That his newly discovered dream officer is actually the ransom that will stay the judgment from God. You cannot make this nonsense up. Which brings us to our key verses today. I chose them because they were the first verses used by David Taylor in this interview to create the false foundation for this false teaching, from this false apostle/prophet/healer/dreamer. As with many who preach falsely, and as he did with the Job verse - he merely tosses out a portion of Scripture because he must realize the context destroys his argument. He used Deuteronomy 13 because of the distinction drawn between a prophet and a dreamer of dreams; gleefully concluding that they must be distinct offices if they are drawn distinctly as such. Now besides the obvious, which is this is not the establishment of offices, the larger context however reveals bigger problems. What are these verses actually speaking about? Ironically enough these verses speak against false teachers/prophets. They speak against David Taylor! Note from these verses that it actually does not even matter if they provide a true sign or wonder - something that comes to pass. The point is if after that they are still trying to lead you away from God then we are not to listen to that "prophet" or "dreamer of dreams." That they are teaching rebellion. That they should be put to death. That we must purge the evil from our midst.

Thankfully for Mr. Taylor we no longer put to death those who seek to lead us astray but the rest of the key verses stand. Beloved, God has led us out of Egypt. Like Israel before us, we were in captivity to our sin and Jesus set us free. He redeemed us from slavery. God has given us a path to walk and commanded us to walk on it. That path is laid out for us in the Bible. Anyone who teaches contrary to the Bible is trying to detour us from the path God has laid out for us. It really is that simple. The harder part is doing the duty of a Berean. That when we hear the fancy talk and the vague biblical references that we examine Scripture for ourselves to see if what we are being taught lines up with the Word of God. If it does not - then we must purge the evil from our midst.

I want to be very clear. God certainly can speak to us through our dreams. He can certainly use those dreams to warn us of impending problems or even death. The Bible has plenty of stories that detail such. His dreams however will never contradict His Word and the Bible remains the best way to hear from God. Either way, the Bible is very clear in outlining the gifts of the Holy Spirit and dreams is not one of them. The Bible is very clear about outlining the gifts given to build the church and dreams is not one of them. The Bible is also pretty clear about the available offices, and dreamer was never one of them. The notion that God is going to give a direct revelation to anyone that cannot be corroborated in His Word is simply heretical.

This all may seem obvious to you and I agree that it should be "low hanging fruit"; meaning easy to spot and ignore. Yet there are a lot of people who buy into this kind of nonsense and those numbers are growing as we go further into the end times. There has been a dramatic increase in the false supernatural. In the lying wonders the Bible warned us about

The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. - 2Thessalonians 2: 9-12 (ESV)

These are strong delusions for many in the church today. They are wicked deceptions. Do not fall for the heresies of angel feathers, gold dust, gem stones, glory clouds, personal visitations to heaven or any other of the fake supernatural revelations. If you want to see what God has revealed - open your Bible. It is all there. Meanwhile if Lionel Blair wants us to believe that he is a "chief apostle" and David Taylor wants us to believe that he is a prophet/apostle who has been commissioned by God to restore and office that never existed in the entire canon of Scripture...they can keep on dreaming.
