Taking One for the Team; Darren Wilson Calls Me a Troll

By Anthony Wade

An interesting exchange in the comments section of a Charisma News link leads to a hilarious yet sad conclusion.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. - Matthew 23: 15 (ESV)

When God wants to make a point He will often do in spectacular fashion. Such was the case over the past two days in the comments section of the above linked Charisma News Article. The link itself is just a promo spot for the author Darren Wilson. For those who may have forgotten him, he was the director of the unbelievably heretical movie "Holy Ghost." At the time of its release, Wilson promised there would be a sequel because he shot so much footage when he traipsed around the world selling his false gospel and his false jesus. We ought to never forget that it is entirely possible to have believed in vain:

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. - 1Corinthians 15: 1-2 (ESV)

Beloved, the Bible says that the way to heaven is a narrow road and few are those that find it. Not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. The reality we never want to face is that right now there are untold millions of self-professing Christians who have believed in vain. Their God is their belly. They glory in their shame. The particular shame that Darren Wilson glories in is the new age experiential christianity. It is the christianity of Bethel Church and Bill Johnson. It trades in sound biblical truth for our feelings. Goose bumps and liver shivers over sound doctrine and doing the work of a Berean. It revels in such nonsense as glory clouds and magic gold dust. Heavenly gemstones and unexplained angel feathers. It believes that the gifts of the Holy Spirit can be taught even though the Bible says the Spirit gives them out as He wills. It knows just enough Bible to sound pious while promoting utter biblical illiteracy. In fact, anyone who promotes biblical truth over experience is branded as "religious" or even legalistic. With this as the background let's take a walk through this quick exchange I had with one of the adherents of Darren Wilson's false teachings and see the results for ourselves. Unfortunately, the link above shows that the person I was speaking with deleted all of his comments once he realized that the Word of God was exposing him too greatly. What he did not realize is I still have his comments. It all started with a simple general statement by me:

"Back to dupe the gullible once again. Trafficking in the demonic, pure and simple, stay far away." - AW

The people who follow these false signs and lying wonders are easily duped. The original Holy Ghost movie was a travesty. The first segment were some friends of Wilson using the same tricks side show psychics use to try and dupe people on the street that the Holy Spirit was moving to heal them of whatever their complaint was. The second segment dealt with the alleged salvation of two members of the Satanic rock band Korn. I say Satanic because their leader openly admits it. Here, Wilson employs "evangelist" Todd White to crash a Korn concert and pretend that he was leading a bunch of teenagers to salvation by using their rock god icon Brian "Head" Welch to lure them in. He even tried the old carny trick of growing out one leg that was "shorter" than the other on one unsuspecting concertgoer. I do not wish to rehash this movie here. Just do a search on my website and you will find two devotionals about this movie. I am just explaining my comment. Christians ought to stay far away from something so blatantly demonic. This drew a response from someone named Brian and we had this quick exchange:

"You should go to the streets of Brazil and spend a week with Nic Billman (the guy in the trailer, happens to be one of my best friends). See if you change your mind. :)" - Brian

"There is nothing on the streets of Brazil that changes the Word of God. Mind you, I do not doubt the sincerity of Wilson or you, or your friend. But you can be sincere and sincerely wrong. 2Corinthians 11 teaches us that the emissaries of darkness disguise themselves as angels of light. It takes discernment to know the difference. Beware Matthew 7. Many will come on the last day saying they saw great miracles and signs and even performed them in His name but He will not know them." - AW

This is the first glimpse into the problems with following a biblically vacuous false teaching. His defense is based upon the fact that someone in the film is a friend of his. In response, I try two different Scriptures to get him to see the folly of his position. This would be the recurring theme. All of his opinions are based on personal anecdotes or feelings and I continue to try and counter with the only objective truth we have - the Word of God. We could have just left it there but Brian would have none of it:

"I've been thinking about your comment all evening. I don't even know where to start. In one shot, here's what you've done:

#1 Judged a man you don't even know, have never met nor ever seen in ministry.
#2 Accused him of being so deceived that he is literally ministering in the name of Jesus but actually doing satans work (Is that even possible ?)
#3 attributed everything Nic does to satan, this includes rescuing kids off the streets, ministering to prostitutes, running a rescue home for kids, teaching street children about God, teaching them their true identity in Christ.
#4 Judged a man who spends countless hours in the Word, in prayer, seeking the truth and being open to correction from God.

Nic is one of THE most Godly men I know. He studies the word, seeks God in prayer, ministers and listens to Gods voice as much as possible. He sacrificed everything to take his family to a scary part of town in Brazil and spends his time on the streets reaching the lost and the broken. In one shot, you've taken several verses in the Bible and decided that ANYONE doing something you don't agree with must be spreading their work in the name of Satan instead. You've literally called him an emissary of darkness. I've seen Nic's fruit, I've seen his heart in action. I know personally how much he seeks God. You're saying NONE of that is any good, that he's SO deceived that none of that works and he simply can't hear God? One of you is grossly deceived...and it's not Nic. God must weep when he reads comments like yours. I will pray for you tonight. And again, I challenge you. If you think Nic is wrong, that he's an emissary of darkness...go spend time with him and prove it. It's really easy to sit on your chair in front of a keyboard and judge people. It's another to go find out for yourself if you're wrong or not. Until then, you're just wasting everyone's time." - Brian

Once again beloved, what is missing? The Word of God! Besides misrepresenting what I said in numerous places, this response reads like I kicked his dog. Nic is one of the most godly men I know? Is that supposed to be more valuable than Scripture? Rather than go point for point, here was my response:

"1) The Bible teaches us that we are to judge righteously. The notion that we are not to judge is a complete mishandling of Matthew 7:1. I might add here that I said I do not doubt the sincerity. The only thing I know about Nic is he has chosen to align himself with someone who has already made one absurdly demonic movie and according to you, he is in the sequel.

2) Is it possible to be so deceived as to actually doing the will of the enemy in Jesus name? Absolutely! Read Matthew 7. It cannot be any clearer:

On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

3) Now you are misrepresenting what I said and I think you know it too. I attributed this movie and thus if your friend is in this movie, his part in it. I made no judgment whatsoever about anything else because I cannot. I do not know what your friend does outside of his involvement with this movie. If the rest of his resume is as righteous as you make it sound then I am saddened that he would have such poor discernment as to get involved with something that is clearly not of Christ.

4) Once again, you stretch the limits of the truth. I have judged his involvement in this movie, nothing more because that would be unfair. It sounds like he does some very noble work. Once again, shame on him to have thrown in with this lot.

Do you notice the pattern here though? You keep defending a man and I keep referring to the Bible. That is the point. I could tell you about My 20+ years working with the poor and disabled but that is completely irrelevant to the conversation at hand, as are Nic's glorious deeds. At the end of the day I have no righteousness but through the blood. I do not hold my works up.

As to your next stretch, and I sincerely hope you pray about the accusations you have made, I quoted a verse about being deceived by emissaries of darkness, not that he is one. It is also not that I disagree - God does. His Word does. Now I know His Word does not mean as much to people who were in the first go around of this film but it still means everything to God.

I am glad you have seen his heart in action. If he is as versed as you say, he will admit to you that his heart is wickedly deceptive above all things. That is what the Bible teaches us. But when you replace the Word with feelings and experience, this argument is where you end up. One person testifying to the infallible Word of God and the other swearing that their friend is a really good guy.

God weeps when His sheep are led astray. Be careful you are not the one doing the leading.
You will account for everyone you led. As for your self-righteous conclusion, I did not choose to sit behind my computer and judge people. Darren Wilson wrote an article linking to his promo as he gets ready to make more money by making merchandise of the sheep of the Lord. I responded and actually only said 2 sentences. That's when YOU decided to open up this dialogue." - AW

Beloved, do you see how the deception works? He actually does not know that God's Word expressly states that people will do mighty works in Jesus name but not actually for Him. How frightening is that when you consider that the next stop for those people in Matthew 7 is eternal suffering? Once again, I am simply stating that Christians ought to avoid this movie and his entire response has yet to reference one Scripture while defending a friend of his. In the process he has revealed why he cannot reference Scripture - because he doesn't know it. Our last exchange would once again prove that:

""he will admit to you that his heart is wickedly deceptive above all things." Seriously? Wow. God most certainly weeps for you." - Brian

Yes you are reading that right. He had no idea I was referencing a Bible verse, Jeremiah 17:9, when I said that Nic would have to admit his heart was wickedly deceptive. When we leave everything up to our feelings and personal experiences we leave ourselves vulnerable to our own lying heart. That is why we are to rely upon the Word of God as our plumb line. Brian realized I think that he could not continue this dialogue without being further embarrassed:

"Deleted my comments I made earlier to someone on this article. Why? Because it was just useless. Like talking to a brick wall who twists scripture to fit his world view. Literally can't have a conversation, just a complete waste of time. I know who I am in Christ, and I know who Nic is, and where his heart is. NO ONE can tell me otherwise." - Brian

How truly sad. To accuse me of twisting Scriptures when he had not even offered one. To my great surprise however, Darren Wilson himself came to his aid now with the following statement that left me laughing:

"This is one of the main reasons I don't respond to the trolls on here Brian. They simply don't have ears to hear. But thank you for your attempt to defend me! I thought it was very well done (before it was deleted)." - Darren Wilson

Don't have ears to hear! Apparently someone loaned Darren a Bible before he posted! This was a joyous moment for me personally because it felt like I took one for the team. I have had Rick Warren email me before but never have I been called a troll by someone as demonically influenced as Darren Wilson. Thank you Darren, you made my day. But since there are always people following the thread, I did have to clarify in closing:

"I am a troll Mr. Wilson? You should be ashamed of yourself. Brian had to delete his comments because his last one read as follows:

""he will admit to you that his heart is wickedly deceptive above all things." Seriously? Wow. God most certainly weeps for you."

He obviously could not tell that I was quoting the Bible. That it is the point. You are the huckster God warns us about sir. You are the charlatan who peddles the Word of God for filthy lucre. You are the one who makes merchandise of people like Brian who may have been genuinely trying to find God. But like the Pharisees of old, you travel the world to make a convert and then make them twice the son of hell as you are. None of this makes me happy, it makes me mourn because one day you will answer for every drop of blood you have led astray. Of that the Bible is clear. I know, I know, your feelings are more important than the Bible.

Even Brian's last response here brilliantly displays that. What does Brian put his faith in here at the end of this waste of time conversation which he initiated? Is his faith in God? No. Is His faith in His infallible Word? No. His faith is in who he feels he is in Christ and even worse, who he feels someone else is. He blames me for not being able to have a conversation yet in the same breath admits that NO ONE can tell him otherwise. Well done.

I will go back to my original comment before Brian started deifying his friend from Brazil. This movie will be just like the first. Nothing but trafficking in the demonic. Pure and simple and Christians who actually have THE Holy Spirit ought to stay far far away."

In case Darren is confused by the Biblical reference to twice a son of hell, I included it as our key verse today. The Holy Ghost movie and this sequel travelled the earth to spread their lies and heresies. Intention means nothing. If Nic is as good a guy as Brian thinks, that is irrelevant if his doctrine is wrong. It is the doctrine that saves. It is the doctrine that ensures we have not believed in vain. Without it you are left twisting in the wind waiting for it to blow this way or that. You are left having to delete your silly comments on the Internet because they reveal you may not know Christ at all. So Brian, stop capitalizing that no one can tell you different and open up a Bible. The real Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth. I will pray for you.

And Darren. This troll would be happy to debate you anytime. You bring your fake evangelists and clairvoyant tricks and I will bring the Word of God. Anytime.
