Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." And he laid his hands on them and went away. -- Matthew 19: 13-15 (ESV)

For those in discernment ministries we have seen this coming for some time now. The up and coming new ministries and heresies all seem to target youth and children excessively. It makes sense from a business and marketing strategy really. The younger you are the more impressionable you are. The more likely you are to fall for false signs and lying wonders. The older generations in our churches are the ones more likely to understand true doctrine and push back on the purpose driven agenda for the false teaching it is. Obviously you have more longevity with younger people. When IHOP first started until today it has specifically targeted youth. The recent march away from the bible by Andy Stanley he blamed on wanting to convince youth to stay in his church. People like Todd White, Darren Wilson, and the Holy Ghost heresy movies are all designed to appeal to youth. The cesspool at Bethel has youth in their crosshairs and the above linked article is from their resident false teacher and money grubber; Kris Vallotton. I knew when I first saw the title earlier in the month that it was going to be a train wreck as only Kris can pull off. Let us reason together once more and go through Kris Vallotton's "five ways to mentor the next generation in supernatural ministry."

"How many times have you seen a child move in the supernatural in church? I'm shocked to see that in most modern churches children are relegated to a lower seat in church. We're missing it because Jesus himself said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them. For to such belongs the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 19:14)." -- Kris Vallotton

Yes, nothing like starting off your argument by butchering the Word of God. I honestly do not know why he bothers to carry a bible at all. I have the entire context as the key verses above. What is this a picture of beloved? What is the teaching point Christ is trying to make? Is it that kids should have supernatural powers in church too? Of course not. This is a picture of salvation. Jesus taught elsewhere that we must approach Him with the faith of a child. Those the approach Christ with the faith of a child? For to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. Not a good start that Vallotton would abuse scripture to prop up his foundational argument.

"It's time we begin to listen to the truth that the kingdom belongs to children too. Imagine a world where kids are empowered in the supernatural; taught to hear from and have a real, living and breathing relationship with God; and are equipped with tools to overcome the schemes of the enemy? I know the world would be a better place. And it's our job as adults to empower little ones into the breakthrough they're carrying. So how do we do that? Here are five things I believe we need to teach our children and grandchildren." -- Kris Vallotton

Really. The world would be a better place if kids were allowed to use their imaginations to run wild with this nonsense? Where in the bible do you see that it is our responsibility as adults to empower kids into this imaginary breakthrough you claim they are carrying? Where? It is our responsibility to train a child up properly according to and educated through the word of God. Anything else is humanistic egoism disguised as spirituality.

"1. Teach them to value dreams. I'm not talking about dreams of the heart here, although that's also very important. What I mean is that children are very in tuned to the supernatural realm, and I know that many people start off life as night dreamers. Ask your children questions about their dreams, help them remember and unravel what God was speaking to them at night. Better yet, teach them how to interpret their own dreams and you'll be equipping them for a lifetime of hearing God in this unique way. If you don't know to interpret dreams, get equipped and impart your knowledge to your children." -- Kris Vallotton

Beloved, you must grasp what is going on here. Kris Vallotton and Bethel are ground zero for what we call experiential Christianity. This is where your experiences of personal interaction with the spirit take precedence over scripture. The entirety of it however is subjective by nature. That is why we insist on the verity of scripture. God's Word never changes! Our dreams could change based on how much pizza we had for dinner the night before. It is bad enough that as an adult he relies on his own interpretation of his dreams through his deceitful heart but he now wants to teach kids to do the same?

"2. Expect them to hear from God. This is so important if we want our kids to experience the reality of a relationship with Jesus for themselves. Start small with questions like, "If Jesus walked into the room right now, what would He say to that person?" By asking questions like this, we're teaching them to not only hear from God but also feel what God feels for His children, how He thinks about them and how He wants to encounter them. Let's teach our children and grandchildren to encourage one another! And, in time, ask them, "And what else would He say?" So you can impart a hunger for more of God and how to press in deeper." -- Kris Vallotton

Beloved, if you want your kids to learn how to hear from God then read the bible to them and teach them to read it on their own. Teach them how to study it and ask questions. Kris Vallotton is listening to his heart which we know is deceitful above all things created. I saw Bethel train their worship leaders to essentially meditate until they felt something spring into their heart and assume whatever it is, was from God and speak it out over the people as a prophecy! What utter blasphemy! If you feel you have heard a word from the Lord hold it up to the assuredness of His holy Word. Either way, do not drag little kids into the crazy house of Charismania.

"3. Include them in ministry. I love watching families minister together. We have a saying around here at Bethel that there's no such thing as a junior Holy Spirit. What we mean by that is children carry the power of Holy Spirit just as much as an adult would! We have kids in our Healing Rooms every Saturday praying over people who travel here from all over the world to be touched by the healing power of God. Teach your kids how to pray for the sick and prophesy. I know you'll be amazed at the way the Lord uses them." -- Kris Vallotton

The delusion is strong with this one. Mind you he is talking about children here, not youth. 95% of children cannot conceptualize sin or repentance so the notion that they have the indwelt Holy Spirit is biblically absurd. What were they saved from? Hitting another child in the sandbox with their blocks? I have dealt with so many parents bemoaning their teenagers "falling away" when the reality is they were never saved to begin with. I have seen videos of kids who "prophesy" preach and pray for healing and they were very disturbing. It was not a display of the power of God merely the power of learned behavior. Children are very good at mimicking. I remember when my sister was 5 years old singing Sweet Child of Mine but that did not mean she was in Guns and Roses. Children in healing rooms? Children prophesying over adults? Do you see any of this anywhere in the bible? Of course not because it is spiritually abusive to the child and the adults.

"4. Expose them to miracles. Sometimes we protect our kids from the challenges of life because we want to protect them from pain. I know it's the heart of any parent to want to shield our children from the woes of the world. However, if we protect our children from pain, then they don't realize when a miracle happens. We can't expect them to understand the reality of the mountain that had to move for the miracle to occur if they don't know that a mountain was there in the first place. In our family, we teach our children that not only is God faithful to us adults, but He is also faithful to them exactly where they are in life. When God breaks through in a miracle for our family, it's for all of us to celebrate and be thankful for." -- Kris Vallotton

Certainly if God genuinely provided a miracle for a family the whole family should rejoice but I take pause again at the age these children must be. Nowhere does the bible suggest children should be treated equally as adults. We shield them for a reason. The larger issue here of course is the nature of miracles that Kris Vallotton ascribes to. Bethel believes in gold dust, gemstones, glory clouds and angel feathers as genuine miracles. They have ascribed to grave sucking and have a dead raising team that claims 15 resurrections without any proof. I wouldn't want my kid exposed to such demonic forces at play.

"5. Invite angels into their lives. I pray for the angelic to be active in my children and grandchildren's lives. I also teach them to ask angels into their own lives. Matthew 18:10 tells us there are angels assigned to each child. Why is this important? Because whether we want it to or not, our children will be exposed to spiritual warfare in some way or another as they grow up, and we should equip them with what they need to understand and overcome that. 2 Corinthians 5:16 says, "So from now on we do not regard anyone according to the flesh. Yes, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet we do not regard Him as such from now on." We need to learn to know our children by the spirit, and not just by the flesh. The truth is that someone profound is growing up in your home. They should be able to use the gift of distinguishing of spirits (1 Cor. 12:10) to identify who to trust, who the noble people are around them and how to distinguish the angelic (not just negative spirits)." -- Kris Vallotton

It is only fitting that he concludes with one of the idol worshipping points for his belief system. Vallotton and Bethel are obsessed with angels as is much of Charismania. Angels do not need our activation to be in our lives. Beloved, what Kris is meddling in here he does not understand. The spirit realm is not something to be mocked and played around with. In the Book of Acts there were sons of a priest that went around messing in the spirit realm trying to cast out demons and it did not turn out so well for them.

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims." Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?" And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. -- Acts 19: 13-16 (ESV)

I do not know how badly you must have been beaten to end up naked but we should not mess around with what we do not understand. Spiritual warfare is real. The angel sent to minister to Daniel fought for 21 days with the Prince of Persia. The reality is that the child growing up in your home may not be someone profound. Kris displays his biblical ignorance by saying they should be able to use the gift of discerning spirits but not everyone has all the gifts! Because he has been taught at Bethel by Bill Johnson he believes we can be taught the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He is wrong. Perhaps he should read his bible more and maybe he would come across this verse:

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. -- 2Corinthians 11: 14-15 (ESV)

Beloved do not teach your kids to dabble in the spirit realm, call on angels, or virtually anything Kris Vallotton advises. Let them be kids. Teach them the word of God. Model Christlike behavior for them. Kris concludes by saying it is an honor to raise up children into the destinies God has over their lives, further revealing his heretical beliefs. The purpose driven church garbage has convinced the church that God has super-duper plans for everyone! We just need to figure them out! Nonsense beloved. The object is to represent God in whatever your life becomes. Raising your kids right. Never stealing at work. Giving back to your community in the love of Christ. I know, boring right? Only if you are comparing it to the hollow promises of the dream destiny thingy Bethel and Vallotton constantly sell.

These are dark days and we need to be girded up with the Word of God to fend off the attacks from wolves such as Kris Vallotton. They are coming and now, they are coming for your kids. They want to plant all sorts of supernatural carnality in their hearts, teach them to rely on whatever pops into their heads, and dabble in the spirit realm ignorantly. Protect them beloved. raise them under the admonition of the Lord. Do not fall for false conversions when they are not old enough to understand what they are committing to. This is not a joke. Even if Kris Vallotton continues to treat it as if he is a child, clueless what trouble he is getting into.
