The key verse finds Paul speaking to the believers in Corinth regarding spiritual gifts. He reminds them that before they were saved, they as pagans would be easily led astray to worship mute idols and that they were led to do so. The word mute here is really translated as "dumb." Paul is speaking to the utter stupidity of following and bowing down to something that cannot offer eternal life. When Jesus asks Peter if he too will leave Peter responds; where would I go? Only You have the words of eternal life. Where else would we go indeed? The modern apostate church is bowing down to multiple idols in these last days. Multiple stupid, dumb, mute idols that cannot give them the eternal life they so desperately need. Many bow down to money, chasing unbiblical prosperity from a god they created themselves. Others worship the usurpation of God. This is the sin of Lucifer, confirmed by Eve in the garden. Today you can find it alive and well in word faith churches and those that practice false signs and lying wonders. Make no mistake about it beloved, when you pretend to be able to teach the gifts of the spirit you are committing this age old sin. The idol for today's conversation however is gaining much momentum lately and that is the worship of the pagan nation of America. This thought is not old but has been revitalized by the New Apostolic Reformation and the dominionism they embody. Fighting for secular law passage, immigration issues, the Johnson amendment, or good old fashioned revival of this country is simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The entire church seems to be led astray to worship this mute idol. The link above is from a recent article that highlights these issues. It is a bit long, so the passages presented are selected to highlight the point and do not distort what the author intended. Let us reason once more:

This rainfall had a ripple effect, bringing an unusual abundance of milk and honey, and propelling a robust harvest. Despite being the second hottest August on record, milk productivity countywide increased 43 percent from the previous August. Meanwhile, swarms abounded for a bee population still stinging from the colony collapse disorder, with one prominent beekeeper declaring the summer of 2016 as "the best bee season in a decade." - Reverend El Akuchie

There is no nexus between church and state beloved. Other than presenting the Gospel to a lost world, the church should not be in the state business. The NAR adherents such as the author of this article will disagree but the bible says we do not have citizenship here but in heaven. It says we are sojourners passing through. The only "eternal difference" in this culture is to save people from it, not try and fix the culture itself. When you worship the culture however that is how you find yourself so biblical twisted. The paganism starts early in this article as Pastor Akuchie claims that rains ending a drought were a result of the local pastors entreating the sinful state. This is astrology beloved. Reading tea leaves. The apostate church has gotten real good at it too. Whatever is positive is automatically attributed to some level of obedience but the negatives are either ignored or dismissed as an "attack." Why was the area in a five month drought to begin with? What did they do that so angered the Lord? That is the road you go down when you practice paganism. Not only the rain but they attribute this obedience to God in also sparing the local bee population! This is not the God of the bible but the god of ancient tribes that would sacrifice their children if the weather wasn't cooperating!

"This extraordinary turn of events occurred one month after clergy drew national attention for challenging the Washington, D.C., establishment. Leading clergymen from over 100 congregations across Richland County sent a letter to local and state school officials calling for civil disobedience to the Obama restroom mandate. This same month also saw a sudden exodus of witchcraft with two out of the three area psychic stores closing. Legislative efforts to attack religious freedoms were also averted. And despite an infant mortality rate nearly twice the national average, no cases of premature infant deaths were recorded. So according to this pagan logic, God was killing the local bee population, opening psychic stores, killing babies and causing fatal car crashes because the unsaved government of the United States believed it was ok for men to use women restrooms. That is until the brave pastors of one section in Ohio wrote a letter. What kind of a sick demented god to they believe they are serving? If you don't believe me beloved you can tell this is nonsense by the bible butchering. Deuteronomy 28 is the summation of the Mosaic Law given to the nation of Israel. It has nothing to do with the church and does not apply to us today. Moreover, there was no "simple obedience" in the Deuteronomy passage. Obedience was so difficult it was impossible and that is why God had to send His only Son the die for us. One act of faith does not change a nation, especially a pagan nation. America is not the new Israel. That is the heresy known as Replacement Theology. There is so much rich theology in Deuteronomy 28 including the foreshadowing of the coming Messiah and how we as gentiles would be grafted in but Akuchie would rather try and leverage it to make sure the unsaved use the correct bathroom.

"Repealing the Clergy Gag Order. When addressing public issues of morality, clergy have the right of way. Second Chronicles 26 shows Azariah the high priest and 80 other courageous priests confronting the prideful King Uzziah when he challenged biblical authority. In this case, taking the moral high ground did not involve neutrality, it involved championing truth by confronting authority. Christ regularly confronted politicians. Lively debates are recorded between Christ and the Sanhedrin over issues like paying taxes, food requirements, health care on the Sabbath and commerce inside the temple. Consequently, when Moses confronted Pharaoh over slavery, their confrontation impacted the agriculture, public health, transportation and weather patterns of a national superpower. These encounters became defining moments. It goes to show, you don't have to change everything for everything to change." -- El Akuchie

This is such NAR thinking and bible twisting. Jesus NEVER confronted politicians. The Sanhedrin were religious leaders, not political ones. The issue is they were supposed to be brothers and instead were false teachers. The commerce reference had nothing to do with carnal commerce and everything to do with defiling the temple of God by price gouging people who came to worship. The point regarding food had nothing to do with requirements and everything to do with being personally corrupted by what comes out of our mouths. There was no "healthcare on the Sabbath" issue and the portraying it as such is biblically criminal. It had to do with swallowing a camel. It had to do with obeying the law but missing the entire point -- as Akuchie continues to do here. The issue of paying the temple tax shows Christ's utter indifference regarding political matters! You want my tax? Go catch a fish! God did not have Moses confront Pharaoh worrying in the slightest how it would affect agriculture, public health, transportation or weather patterns. To suggest otherwise is simply asinine. Lastly, Akuchie mixes apples and orangutans in his Azariah reference. If he used these instances to say that people should challenge church leadership regarding immorality I would applaud. These verses however have nothing to do with challenging a sinful world on why they are so darn sinful. Akuchie continues the paganism cause effect brigade:

""farmers had the best winter wheat crop recorded in 47 years after 36 pastors in January 2016 sent a written warning to a local business against hosting a psychic reading. The clergy made it crystal clear that psychic reading can involve consumer fraud of unsuspecting persons and could hold the business liable to litigation. The warning was given the same time the area began experiencing a five-month long housing upswing where the average number of days a property is on the market dramatically dropped and average sales prices went thru the roof." -- El Akuchie

So God is now in the real estate market. Well, assuming you stop a psychic reading event. How absurd. What this means is the local churches threatened local business with civil penalties and carnal punishment if they dared to bring a psychic in. They caved to the pressure and then anything positive that occurred in the months following was attributed directly to this threat. This is the heart of pagan beliefs. To find causality in natural events. Big wheat crop? Must have been the great psychic threat. Did nothing positive happen prior to this threat? Of course it did but it was ignored because it did not fit this ridiculous narrative. Did anything negative happen after the threat? Of course it did but it was also summarily dismissed. Were all the people positively affected by real estate sales and wheat harvests believers? I seriously doubt it.

You have got to be kidding me. So now the opposition to a beer garden resulted in a fireball or some sort? What the heck does that even mean? Stewards of the mysteries of God? Not the God of the bible beloved. Only a pagan worshipper would make such silly and superstitious conclusions. These are not supernatural occurrences. They are stories of a local church using all the carnal schemes they can to apply their morality to their fallen communities. There are some good carnal results. A needle exchange program was quashed. Psychics were not allowed to practice their sorcery. These are temporal results beloved. No one was saved as a result. The kingdom did not grow by one soul. That is the true damage the NAR dominionist idol worship brings. It provides busyness with the world and an illusion of accomplishment while not advancing the kingdom a single step.

In January 2017, clergy from over 100 congregations in north central Ohio sent an apology letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the position the Obama administration took in not blocking United Nations Resolution 2334. Ten days after the apology letter was sent by the Ohio clergymen, a massive natural-gas pipeline was approved for construction thru north central Ohio after the project was held up by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission." -- El Akuchie

There actually is a Hebrew term for coincidence but these events are not even coincidences. That would be an insult to coincidences. These are completely non-correlated events being forcibly spliced together to give a false impression of causality. This is the whore god they have created and worship. That if you do something "Christian" he will make sure you get an oil pipeline.

"According to Department of Agriculture numbers, the spring turkey harvest in Richland County saw a dramatic increase from the prior year, whitetail deer harvested was the best in four years and the cow herd in Richland County, which is estimated in late winter, was measured at its largest size in over 30 years, which is utterly amazing. The astounding blessings the area experienced from the apology letter aftermath provoked 42 area clergymen to also request the county treasurer to invest taxpayer dollars in Israeli bonds. The day the county treasurer announced the county government would invest nearly $200,000 in Israeli bonds, was the same meeting that half a million dollars in unexpected revenue was announced to alleviate a budget shortfall. This clergy apology letter had a snowball effect and sends shivers down your spine to think that the blessing of Abraham still impacts our generation." -- El Akuchie

By the way, if God is so pleased with Ohio, why is it ranked 18^th in highest poverty for 2017? Maybe they need to buy more Israeli bonds? The clergy letter had no such snowball effect beloved. At any point in time we can review all of the positive developments in a year and trace it back to something "good" the church may have done. A bible believing Christian does good works because of what God has already done for them on Calvary not because of some quid-pro-quo expectation of "blessing." This is straight up NAR and unbridled paganism. It is quite frankly the high sounding nonsense the bible warns us about. Mercifully, Akuchie concludes:

Power Company officials and emergency responders were scratching their heads trying to determine the source of this strange phenomenon. In retrospect, some say it was the voice of the Lord thundering His approval when the news first broke. I call it God restoring thunder back to the pulpit." -- El Akuchie

Do you understand and see how pagan this is? Before the advent of rational thought man looked to the heavens and just made things up. A falling star may have meant the sun god was angry. Time to toss another sacrifice in the wood chipper. Red skies at night? Bad harvest coming. Unexplained boom? Well that must mean God is thundering His approval of a letter that was written. Come on. Unexplained booms and mysterious fireballs and nonsense like this are always interpreted positively! What if they really meant God was angry? Oh that's not possible because it doesn't fit this NAR, America-worshiping narrative. This is not a small matter beloved. Idol worship is addressed in two of the Ten Commandments. There are pastors I saw this week giving carnal sermons on matters of zero eternal significance. Imagine someone lost wandered into church this past week and instead of hearing the Gospel they heard someone opine about something as inconsequential as immigration or socialism. It is this jingoistic false religiosity that will march gleefully towards the one world church. Real Christians must take a stand. We serve Almighty God and He has given us citizenship in heaven. We do not have dual citizenship beloved. We are pilgrims traveling through this fallen world proclaiming the Good News that some might come out from among them before He returns. Let the apostate church continue to look for signs as the adulterous generation they are. None will be given. They can keep looking for sonic booms and strange fireballs falling from the sky to assure themselves they are not on the broad path that leadeth to destruction. We will keep looking to Jesus -- the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen.
