The Anatomy of a Huckster -- Making Merchandise of the Sheep

By Anthony Wade

Using Jennifer Leclaire to show how Christian hucksters are operating today.

You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God is watching us. -- 2Corinthians 2:17 (NLT)

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. -- 2Peter 2:3 (KJV)

The bible is filled with warnings about false teachers and prophets yet millions will fall prey to the wolves who will deny them eternal life by leading them down the broad path that leads to destruction. Now maybe this does not apply directly to you but I guarantee it applies to someone you know. Churchianity is absolutely littered today with charlatans, most of which appear motivated simply by good old fashioned greed. The two key verses speak to this phenomenon. One is written by the Apostle Paul and the other by the Apostle Peter.

Paul refers to these people as hucksters. The dictionary defines huckster as someone who "sells or advertises something in an aggressive, dishonest, or annoying way. Paul wastes no words here beloved. They do this for personal profit. Note the contrast Paul draws. He preaches the Gospel with sincerity and authority knowing that God is watching them. That is the key because the false teacher has no fear of God in their eyes. If they did they would not fleece God's flock through manipulation and deceit. Peter explains that covetousness is what drives them. Through that sin they set out to make merchandise of the sheep. Early carnival barkers would be able to easily spot suckers and they referred to them as a "mark." That is all you are to the false teacher; just another mark.

Before we proceed, a word about salvation for the wolves. I find not one scripture that tells me we ought to be praying for wolves. The Peter verse actually states that their judgment lingers not and their damnation does not sleep. What does that tell you beloved? Are the saved? No they are not. I cannot think of one single example of a full blown heretical wolf EVER repenting. In this purpose driven NAR structure, the cult of personality pastors are protected by the sheep instead of the godly order of the shepherd protecting the flock. Perhaps the most outrageous accusation ever made towards discernment ministers such as myself is a lack of love. We see bloody sheep in the jowls of ferocious wolves and we seek to free them before they are slaughtered and that is lacking love? No beloved. It is only lacking love for wolves. I have no love for some huckster trying to make merchandise of the sheep of the Lord. Today we will examine one such charlatan, Jennifer Leclaire. I have written about Jennifer before but then I came across her latest scam today. Let's here the sales pitch:

"Whether you're called as a five-fold apostle, a marketplace apostle or a fervent believer seeking revelation and impartation, The School of the Apostles will give you the foundation and building blocks you need to move accurately in the apostolic. The School of the Apostles offers sound doctrine, godly wisdom, practical insight, impartation and activation from a voice you can trust. Let's be real. There's still a lot of opposition and error in the apostolic and relatively few current resources you can trust to help you in your calling. I've been moving in the apostolic for nearly 20 years--and I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. I've seen the extremes and the abuses--but I've also seen the fruit of true apostleship and apostolic believers." -- Jennifer Leclaire

Yes. Jennifer Leclaire now has her own school of the apostles. The calamari queen who once claimed a sneaky squid spirit was stalking her now thinks she can make people apostles. As with everything Jennifer does however, it is going to cost you. Specifically, it is going to cost you $1200 for the right to call yourself an apostle. Yet the bible makes it very clear that not all have all gifts. Not all are apostles yet for 1200 bucks Jennifer will supersede the bible on your behalf. Her claim of sound doctrine comes from the same mouth that "released the angels of abundant harvest" just in time for her new book release about that very subject. Her claim of godly wisdom comes from the same mouth that claimed the devil has a digital dossier with her picture in it. Her claim of practical insight comes from the same mouth that just this week claimed that God wanted to give seers X-Ray vision and play show and tell with them. So forgive my snarkiness when I laugh at loud when Jennifer Leclaire says she has seen the extremes and the abuses -- she is the extremes and the abuses! Before you start thinking this is just an outlier for Jennifer, let us go back to her website, linked above:

"Elevate Your Prophetic With Online or In-Person Training You Can Trust. You may have read my best-selling books, such as The Making of a Prophet, The Heart of the Prophetic, Jezebel's Puppets, or Waging Prophetic Warfare. You might also know me as the former editor of Charisma magazine, or maybe you've met me on my ministry tours. The Lord has put it on my heart to launch a School of the Prophetic. This is not just for prophets, but for those who want training, activation, affirmation and impartation in prophetic ministry. You can find the School of the Prophets in the Bible. Samuel, a prophet who anointed kings, launched a school to train young prophets in Israel. Elisha followed up as head of that school. My goal is to train and mentor prophets and prophetic voices who are accurate and will stand for truth. In my School of the Prophets, you'll be taught, trained and have an opportunity to exercise your gift in a safe setting. You'll receive course materials, including teaching outlines and a list of online resources ot tap into. We'll do Q&As, answer the hard questions, and explore issues together as part of the school. Impartation and activation will be part of every session." -- Jennifer Leclaire

Yeah, that wasn't the Lord Jennifer. That was your own wicked and greedy heart. In case you are wondering, the gold package at this fake school of the prophets includes 90 minutes of personal coaching from Jennifer and will only set you back $1000. So it costs less money to become a prophet than apostle but either way it is false. Note the promise that you will have a safe space to exercise your gift. Translated this means you will be allowed to make as many mistakes as possible while you are pretending to hear from God. Once again we must reiterate that the bible says the gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit, not Jennifer Leclaire, as the spirit wills and that not all can prophesy. You must understand beloved that part of the NAR and purpose driven churchianity is a false prophetic paradigm that teaches people that anyone can prophesy. It teaches that 65% accuracy makes you a good prophet even though you would be stoned to death in the Old Testament for one wrong prophecy. This is not a minor concern. A false prophet LIES about what God has said. There are victims beloved. When a false prophetic word fails to come to pass the victim often leaves the church and either blames God or themselves. Always on the lookout for new ways to bleed money from the people of God, Jennifer's next venture relies on the laziness of Christians to not bother checking if the concept of the school is even remotely biblical.

"Seers, arise! God wants you to function in the fullness of your giftings. Believers, begin to see! God wants you to open your eyes to the spirit realm, with dreams and visions! Just like you don't have to be a prophet to prophesy, you don't have to be a seer to see. God wants you to see what He is trying to show you. On the last day of the Global Prophets Summit, I was teaching about the seer's anointing on Facebook Live from my hotel room. I had no idea the Lord was going to overwhelm me with His presence and give me a new anointing, commissioning and mandate to raise up seers and seeing people. The next day at our special "What Do You See?" event, the Lord showed up to confirm His word to me in a mighty way. We had a move of God at the Awakening House of Prayer. After a teaching, impartation and activation, the Lord opened the eyes of so many people to see in the Spirit. It was incredible. The next day I went to Awakening Blaze Tampa and God did it again! I know the Lord has called me to raise up seers and seeing people. Acts 2:17 says, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." I have empathy for seers who have been misunderstood, persecuted and rejected from the mainline church. I want to see you activated at new levels and functioning in accuracy for the glory of God. Whether you are an experienced seer or just learning about the visual realm of the spirit world, I can help you navigate your gift--and I've been called to. Again I say, seers, arise! God wants you to function in the fullness of your giftings. Believers, begin to see! God wants you to see in the spirit." -- Jennifer Leclaire

Looking for new revenue streams Jennifer launched this doozy a little while back. Ever notice how all of the times God speaks to her it is to set up a cash cow for her personal wealth? We must understand the depths of this depravity. The Global Prophets Summit was a gathering of false prophets such as General Cindy Jacobs and Lou Engle. Nothing of God is going to come out of a gathering of such wolves. Yet Jennifer parses this new church function called seers and figures out how to market it to make money. Now the word seer is in the bible but perhaps Jennifer would do well to actually read what it says:

The servant answered Saul again, "Here, I have with me a quarter of a shekel of silver, and I will give it to the man of God to tell us our way." (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he said, "Come, let us go to the seer," for today's "prophet" was formerly called a seer.) And Saul said to his servant, "Well said; come, let us go." So they went to the city where the man of God was. -- 1Samuel 9: 8-10 (ESV)

Language changes over the 6000 years if the bible. Here God is specifically explaining that what was once called a prophet is now being called a seer. Did we get that? A seer is another word for prophet. So why did Jennifer open up this school for seers? Because she already ran a school for prophets! So she has been called to determine who apostles are, teach people to be prophets and now help seers navigate the visual realm of the spirit world. All for a price. The school for seers however only sets you back $300 per year. If that seems like a bargain compared to the other offerings realize that Jennifer also runs a "company of seers" which you can join for another $330 per year. This company is like a support group for false prophets pretending to be seers. Let's let Jenifer explain:

"On the last day of the Global Prophets Summit with Cindy Jacobs, James Goll, Stacey Campbell and others, I was teaching about the seer's anointing on Facebook Live from my hotel room. I had no idea the Lord was going to overwhelm me with His presence and give me a new anointing, commissioning and mandate to raise up seers and seeing people. After this pivotal experience, I launched a School of the Seers. Now, I am launching a Company of Seers that is open to seers and believers who are pressing into the seer anointing." -- Jennifer Leclaire

Well, isn't Jennifer special! A new anointing, commissioning, and mandate to bilk an additional $330 out of you! For the right to be called among her "company of seers" who are "pressing into" the "seer anointing." What a bunch of super-spiritual gobbledygook. This is straight from the NAR false signs and lying wonders playbook. Just throw a bunch of Charismaniacal industry terms against the wall and see what sticks. I am surprised she didn't say there was a shifting in the atmosphere! Mind you, this is not the only "company" she charges for. Jennifer also has the "Company of Scribes", which will set you back $1000 for the "Gold Package." Her fake word from the Lord about this is as follows:

'I heard the Lord say, "I am calling my scribes to describe what they see and hear before they say. I am calling chroniclers to rise up and write down what I show them in the day and what they dream at night. For I am releasing my anointing on a new generation of seers and scribes and they will be faithful to write down the visions, the visitations and the views of the future I show them. They will be articulate with a pen and in speech. Their tongues shall be pens of ready writers. They will distribute what I show them, what they have scribed and chronicled, far and wide through digital media that reaches the nations of the earth. I am calling the scribes to describe My heart, My ways, My precepts, My principles, My presence, My love and more through the power of the pen and the anointing of My Spirit. I am looking for a few good scribes."' -- Jennifer Leclaire

A few good scribes? It's not that Jennifer can't handle the truth it is that she cannot tell the truth. This is an "opportunity" for people who want to write to lose a thousand bucks to get mentoring from Jennifer about how to write 25 books that are equally duplicitous as the various schools she runs. Mind you all of these schools are run out of the same room at the Fort Lauderdale Airport Holiday Inn. Are we sensing the point yet? If not you can join her ignite network of false prophets so you can pretend Jennifer is your "covering." Price tag? $360 per year. Not convinced? For $400 per year you can join her School of Spiritual Warfare. Looking for something more affordable but just as stupid? For $138 she will teach you how to drown marine demons; I kid you not.

Beloved, before people start reflexively thinking this is somehow against capitalism -- it is not. This is against lying. I have no issue if people want to make money or write books. I take issue when they write untrue books for the purpose of making money. I wrote a book on the lies of tithing and for the 100 people who have bought it, you have my gratitude. The point is however that there is nothing false in that book. If you pretend to be able to make apostles, train prophets, differentiate between prophets and seers; establish companies of people and false prophetic networks and all for greedy gain then you are the huckster the bible warns us about. If all you can do is make merchandise of the sheep of the Lord then I rest in your judgment, which lingers not. Jennifer Leclaire is not just a false prophet. She is not just a false teacher. She is a charlatan fleecing God's flock and needs to be marked as such.
