Latest Duplantis/Copeland Scam - Jesus Will Come Back Sooner if You Give them Money

By Anthony Wade

Some of the greatest scammers were out in full force this week trying to fleece the flock...

This week saw the latest beg-athon by church charlatans led by Kenneth Copeland Ministries. His right-hand man, Jesse Duplantis was there as was an entire NAR dominionist panel of Mario Murillo, Lance Wallnau, and Hank Kunneman. Dubbed the "Victorython", because it was benefitting the Victory Channel, an enterprise of Copeland. Let me just share some of the ridiculousness of this event.

Right around the 1 hour and 44-minute mark we find Jesse Duplantis bragging about how rich he is again. Claiming he had to correct a reporter who accused him of being a millionaire Duplantis said, "multi, get it right." It is around this point that he starts making bizarre statements about how the devil uses the church to create poverty until he concludes that we can actually speed up God's timeline for when Jesus returns if we would just give more to them. That God is holding back the return of His only Son, not out of grace, but out of pure greed.

Then Copeland and Duplantis excuse their owning multiple private luxury airplanes. Claiming they were just a ministry tool. Duplantis gushes, "my pilots know how to fly them and I know how to buy them." Kenneth Copeland then explained how they cannot be bothered by regular people on commercial airlines and that his private planes are there to "protect the anointing." Ugh.

Duplantis then shares how God allegedly spoke to him in the 1970's when he was just starting out and couldn't fill up the gas tank of his Toyota when a Cessna private plane flew overhead. Duplantis claims God told him He was going to give him a plane and Jesse wondered how that could come to pass if he couldn't fill up the gas tank of his car and God supposedly told him "I didn't say I was going to make you pay for it." Uh-huh.

Copeland at one-point claims that everything was going great in the world because once you had three people on the earth they created business. That is until one demonic man came along and wanted to build the Tower of Babel and that created socialism and the first war ensued. What???

Final thought. Around the 2 hour and 12-minute mark, Duplantis literally says that the entire bible was written about him and for him. Isn't that all we need to know? How in the world have so many people fallen for such obvious snake oil salesmen?
