The NAR and the Arrest of Rodney Howard Browne -- Standing with Heretics and Fools

By Anthony Wade

The arrest of Rodney Howard-Browne is not persecution. No matter how the NAR wishes it was...

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. -- Romans 13:1-2 (ESV)

The NAR dominionist agenda does not care about the cause of Jesus Christ. Their gospel is about preserving this world. It is about enhancing their position and power within this world. It is a similar situation that the Pharisees faced in their day. Even though they were an occupied and oppressed people, within the subculture of Judaism, the Pharisees had all the power. They had all the fame and notoriety. They used their religion to further this power and to prevent the loss of it. Along comes this carpenter from Galilee healing the sick and giving hope to the poor. Worse than that He claims to be the Savior they have all been looking for to deliver them from the oppression of Rome. The Pharisees saw the end of their reign and they decided to kill Him.

The NAR recognizes that they too are in power within a religious subculture. They are the famous ones. They are the ones everyone wants to see at conferences and mega-churches. They have the book deals and television shows. They know that within the world, they are just one of many influences but the NAR is determined to change that. Make no mistake about it beloved; the seven mountains mandate is not about spreading the Gospel to the world as much as it is about spreading their influence and power into the world. Now you see the NAR powers that be in the Oval Office, praying for the president. You see their influence spreading within the business realm with the "my pillow" inventor speaking in the Rose Garden yesterday espousing false NAR talking points. You see their influence spreading into the entertainment sphere with Christian movies thinly veiled to distribute NAR theology, not the Gospel. Sure they have the cover because there is always the air of piety but again, it is the NAR theology gaining the influence. The cause of the Gospel is not helped one iota by the fact that a raving heretic like Paula White is an advisor to the president yet many Christians consider this a positive development.

With this as the backdrop we fast forward to this week when I was sure the moronic Charismaniac award of the week was going to go to Kenneth Copeland for declaring that COVID was over! He declared it was over immediately! Odd since when it turned on my television today it sure doesn't seem over. Apparently, Copeland was playing another round of "Can You Top This Crazy" with fellow heretic Rodney Howard Browne and I think the award has to go to Browne. Now let us make sure we understand who we are dealing with here. Copeland is among the chief heretics on the planet and claims to have made over a billion dollars by robbing the people of God. He had just come out last week and ordered Christians to continue paying their tithes even if COVID costs them their jobs. He and his wife have claimed they have ended previous worldwide flu epidemics without proof. They claim they can literally control the weather.

Rodney Howard Browne has a more detailed resume in crazyville. He is one of the forerunners of the holy laughter debacle. This stain on the history of Christianity saw people rolling around in the aisles of their churches laughing uncontrollably pretending it was the Holy Spirit causing it. Perhaps Brown is most infamously known for perpetuating the insane heresy of being drunk in the spirit. He in fact calls himself the holy ghost bartender. It seems that this past week Browne decided he was going to extend his middle finger to the law enforcement responsible for the area his church is in down in central Florida. It seems Hillsborough County had issued a stay at home order due to COVID and had warned church lawyers to not hold the planned Sunday services. Browne defied these orders and held service anyway, with an approximate attendance of 500 people. Then he used his service, his alleged holy desk, to spread lies, disinformation and absolutely dangerous NAR conspiracy theories.

Always referring to COVID as a phantom plague, Browne claimed that it was created by the Chinese government and that the communist run media created the panic about it to benefit the money cartel that has made billions from the collapse of the US economy. Yeah, I am sure that is why Jesus went to the cross -- so this blathering idiot can use the pulpit to push this garbage. Not done, Browne spewed on:

'"So you produce this plague, you bring it into this country, and then it doesn't have to be everywhere because the more they test, the more they'll find people positive," he said. "There's a 75 percent chance that the positive [test] is actually a negative, and that's the problem. The testing is not verifiable."' -- Rodney Howard Browne

This supposed to be a church. This is supposed to be a Christian church. Browne also insisted that the outbreak was designed and planned at a Bill Gate Foundation event last year, while the decision to launch the pandemic was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos this year. He warned that all who refuse to take the eventual vaccine will not be allowed to travel or even participate in the economy. These fringe conspiracy theories are fully bought into by the NAR dominionist crowd, who worships the current president and trades in any shred of Christian credibility for that worship. Consider this last snippet from Browne's "sermon:"

"It's all the deep state traitors that have surrounded our president on every side that are feeding him misinformation. We are probably looking at a globalist take down of America as we speak. Because America would not buy into the climate change, melting polar caps nonsense. The president pulled us out of the Paris climate accord. Through this pandemic, the World Health Organization is coming in basically as medical tyranny, and they're taking over and producing an international standard for law that governs countries." -- Rodney Howard-Browne

Beloved, if you think there is a secret deep state orchestrating a world-wide panic over a phantom virus because they do not like your president then you may just be beyond hope. When ice shelves the size of Los Angeles break off but you think polar caps melting is nonsense, then you are part of the problem. There is nothing Christian about denial and faith is not the absence of reason. There is another point that needs to be embraced by the church. This arrest of Browne is not a Christian cause.

I have seen disturbing Facebook posts, some from actual pastors, siding with Browne against the "tyranny of the state." That is simply bovine excrement. I saw one claim that Howard-Browne was "arrested for holding church services." That is beyond deceptive. You can hear the narrative of persecution being created. Another pastor posted that he must stand and defend fellow Christians whom the enemy tries to destroy. That shows how little he understands God or scripture. Rodney Howard-Browne is an enemy of God, not a fellow Christian. He has spent his entire life scattering people away from Jesus Christ through his absurd, obvious and dangerous heresies. The notion that the enemy is behind arresting him is infantile. The enemy wants Howard-Browne preaching. The enemy loved that he endangered the lives of so many people with is blatant disregard for the law and the seriousness of this virus. The arrest of Howard-Browne however fits the NAR narrative of a church persecuted by an evil deep state. Forget about all of this drama for a moment and realize that this is still the guy that said this:

One night I was preaching on hell and laughter just hit the whole place. The more I told people what hell was like the more they laughed.

"Stop praying now and let the joy bubble out your belly. Joy. Joy. Joy. Don't pray! Laugh!"

"Take another drink...the bar is open.... Be filled! We loose the power! Have another drink!"

"Drink and get drunk on the "new wine of the Spirit."

Why in the world would you want to line up with this? Why would you line up with a woman like Paula White who has literally stolen five million dollars from God's people? Under normal circumstances if the theologies are examined I think everyone would agree. The problem is that White's position next to the president and Browne's very planned public arrest fit within the NAR narrative. The demented musings of Browne that he passed off as a sermon this past Sunday fit with the NAR persecuted church narrative.

Let me be very clear. The COVID situation is real. I work with someone who lost three people related to her over this past weekend alone and one was her father. The three thousand dead people in this country meant something to somebody. They meant something to God. If your theology is more important than reality then it is simply not of God. Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested this week and he should have been. He endangered the lives of hundreds of people in attendance and countless others they then come into contact with. He then used the holy desk of the pulpit to preach fringe conspiracy theories and absolutely whackadoodle lies. Look, I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy but if you think that Russia, China and Iran are about to launch a war on our shores, as Browne preached Sunday, you are not a conspiracy theorist. You are a lunatic.

The church in china is under persecution. The church in Iraq is under persecution. The church in America is not. Being asked to follow the law is not persecution. It is ironically hypocritical that the NAR dominionists love to cling to the key verses from Romans 13 to justify anything their president does but then seemingly forget about it when it suits them like in the Howard-Browne case. God does not say anything about getting drunk in the spirit but He says quite a lot about hypocrisy. Do not be fooled beloved. Standing with people who stand with the devil is not a Christian cause. Do not be found standing with such heretics and fools.
