The Sky Is Fluorescent Green - Dr. Brown Continues to Cultivate the Big Election Lie

By Anthony Wade

Here goes Dr. Brown again; trying to sound perfectly reasonable while perpetuating the big lie...

Separating the Question of Election Fraud from Conspiracy Madness and the Insurrection -- Charisma News

"As we are now three months out from the elections and almost one month removed from the storming of the Capitol, we can step back, catch our breath, and reassess where we stand. Emotions are calming down; the news cycle is less intense, and fanatical voices are being separated from reasonable voices. Yet one thing remains constant: millions of fair-minded Americans still believe there was serious election fraud. This is an issue that simply will not disappear. These people are not wild-eyed white supremacists (or even non-wild-eyed white supremacists). To the contrary, they are as mortified as anyone over the events of Jan. 6. They cannot simply be dismissed as cultlike followers of Trump, people whose reasoning powers have atrophied. Nor can they be written off as unhinged conspiracy theorists, as many of them (most of them?) have never read a QAnon post in their lives. Yet they still have serious concerns about the trustworthiness of our electoral process, and the more the mainstream media states that there is zero evidence of voter fraud, the more determined they become." - Dr. Michael Brown

So starts the above linked article from Dr. Michael Brown. In a word to answer Dr. Brown - no. Your entire premise is exactly the problem in this country and the apostate church today. The fact that someone or entire swaths of someones, believe something does not alter reality. As my pastor is fond of saying, you can be sincere and sincerely wrong. Let me over-simplify what you continue to do. In early November, the President of the United States started telling everyone that the sky was fluorescent green. His followers and idol worshipers started looking at the sky and seeing traces of fluorescent green until they too believed what they were being told. When rational people tried to talk them off the ledge they screamed - fake news! When we tried to point them to reliable resources to assure them the sky was blue they screamed - deep state! Nevertheless their fearless leader kept whipping them up into a frenzy because no one was believing them. He then unleashed them upon the Capitol where five people died, including one police officer. They urinated on the walls. They defecated on the floor. Yet once they reached the well of the Senate they stopped to pray. Yes that's right. They prayed to Jesus Christ to thank Him for their success that day.

Now you are right. Some of these folks were crazier than others. Not everyone showed up with zip ties and concealed weapons. Yet they were all there based upon the same acceptance of a horrible lie. They all believed the same thing. To them the sky remained fluorescent green. It remains so to this very day. Yet you think because they did not poop in the House of Representatives that they must be regarded as "fair minded." You think because they are correctly mortified by the events of January 6th that they must also be correct in their belief that the sky is actually not blue. They can still have concerns about the trustworthiness of our electoral process but that does not make them right. How do we know? Because they only had these concerns after the election. They suddenly became vigilant only because their guy lost and he swore to them that they was robbed. If we are being intellectually honest here let's switch the results. Let's say Donald Trump won by over seven million votes. Would any of these "fair minded" people be saying one word about the sanctity of the election system in this country? What if the Biden camp was claiming they actually won when everyone else says they lost? Would any of these hinged folks be accepting of the possibility or would they be screaming for them to shut up? I think you know the answer Dr. Brown. The sky remains blue. The fact that millions of people still believe it is fluorescent green does not change reality. Their reasoning powers have indeed atrophied. The fact that this atrophy is not so severe as to pray thanksgiving to Jesus Christ after murdering a police officer does not change the fact that it is still atrophied enough to believe the sky is fluorescent green.

"I stated on Dec. 4 of last year that I am personally agnostic as to the claims of massive voter fraud. But that was not because all the claims of fraud struck me as specious. Instead, it was because I did not have the time, the expertise or the burden to analyze the claims in-depth so as to make a determination of my own. As for the final outcome of the election, I decided early on to trust our court system, Congress and our fervent prayers, and so I recognize Joe Biden as our president. At the same time, while I understand that it was the belief that the election was stolen which provoked the storming of the Capitol, it's also very clear that plenty of rational, law-abiding, thinking Americans remain convinced that widescale fraud was undeniable." - Dr. Michael Brown

But you are not agnostic Dr. Brown. As with your NAR gatekeeper habits, you are an enabler of the big lie. In every article you have written you have tried to sound reasonable while still floating the idea that election fraud could be true when it most certainly was not. It seems your entire rationale is that because enough people believe the sky is fluorescent green that we are someone obligated to consider that it might be true. No. That is not how reality works. Fraud on a micro level is always possible in elections as large as ours but on a macro level? Fraud that can flip millions of votes? That has been adjudicated over 60 times already and Trump has been laughed out of court by judges he has appointed! His own government has stated this was the most secure election in the history of the country! Some of the states in question were run by Republicans that fully supported Mr. Trump. They can't all be deep state! I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy but it has to be plausible to work. Bill Barr is now deep state? I am glad that you now recognize Biden as president but the problem is you keep saying it next to the possibility that he is not! By doing so you keep enabling the big lie that has led so many astray.

'All this came to a head during Senator Rand Paul's interview with George Stephanopoulos when Paul refused to accept the "fact" that the election was stolen. Instead, Paul said, "Well, what I would say is that the debate over whether or not there was fraud should occur. We never had any presentation in court. Most of the cases were thrown out for lack of standing, a procedural way of not hearing it." Others, of course, believe that this is not true and that cases were thrown out by the courts because of lack of evidence or poor evidence. You can do the research and decide for yourself. What is clear, though, is that Sen. Paul is neither a Trump hack nor a rightwing extremist. Yet he, too, could not agree with the mainstream media's outright dismissal of claims of fraud. In the same way, Sen. Ted Cruz, even while calling Trump's insistence that he won by a landslide to be "reckless and irresponsible," still felt it was right to call for an investigation of claims of fraud. He explained, "What I've said is, voter fraud is real, and we need to examine the evidence and look at the actual facts. And, in particular, what is the evidence of how much voter fraud occurred, and did it occur in sufficient quantities and in sufficient states to alter the outcome of the election?" That would have been the mandate of the election commission--to assess."' - Dr. Michael Brown

Your placement of the word "fact" in quotes is exactly the problem! You keep muddying the waters. The president filed over 60 lawsuits regarding his fantasies about election fraud and produced zero evidence. Paul, who most certainly is a Trump hack, knows this quite well. As for your constant demonization of mainstream news? That only further fuels the problem. The news REPORTS the news. They did not dismiss fraud they reported correctly that it did not exist. They investigated the sky and indeed concluded that it was blue.

'Whether or not you like Cruz's politics, it cannot be denied that he is a sharp legal mind. Yet he, too, felt there were questions that needed to be answered. More forcefully, Red State columnist Stu Cvrk opined, "The election fraud drum needs to be banged until every American is aware of the MASSIVE election fraud during the 2020 elections. The implications are profound for future elections, and indeed, for every future action by federal and state governments, for if elections can be stolen with impunity, then we are no longer living in a constitutional Republic subject to the will of the people. Rather, we are living in a government-corporate oligarchy, as aptly described in a wonderful commentary by Angelo Codevilla. And the only way to resurrect our Republic is to slay the election fraud dragon!" But Cvrk's article is more than CAPS and exclamation points. There are other key links provided (most importantly this one), while Cvrk's conclusion is hardly overstated: "Our view is that the public needs to be much better educated regarding the election integrity issue--and having a more accurate understanding of the lawsuit component is a key part of that."' - Dr. Michael Brown

Ted Cruz has a brilliant political mind. He understands that the mere appearance of an official commission will forever stain the Biden presidency. We have systems and laws in this country. We follow them. We do not decide to add to them when we do not like the outcome. Within the article referenced By Brown is a perfect example of the kind of nonsense being floated to draw doubt into the hearts of Americans:

"Biden's vote totals in the four counties were 1.24 to 1.43 times greater than the totals for Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama (both elections). This is an absurd result, especially in the three Republican-leaning counties, given that Republican support for President Trump has hovered at 95% over the past year-plus. What is the probability that more Pennsylvanians in these counties voted for a thoroughly compromised candidate who did not even campaign down the stretch than voted for either Barack Hussein Obama or Hillary Clinton?" - John Droz Jr.

The only thing absurd is this garbage. There could be a hundred reasons why these four counties showed higher voter totals for Biden. Let's start with the fact that Biden had 16 million more votes than Clinton and Obama! Are we supposed to take this seriously? The non-objectivity cannot be clearer as Droz refers to Biden as thoroughly compromised. This may have been the opinion in the right wingnut blogosphere but back on earth it holds little merit.

"These concerns will not be swept under the rug, which is why I suggested in early December that Joe Biden should lead the way in calling for a full-scale investigation of all charges of fraud. Let the whole truth come to light. In the end, how could it hurt to do so? For some Trump voters, including me, the question of a stolen election does not have our attention. And from my perspective, for better or worse, God has appointed Biden to be our president, whether with or without fraud." - Dr. Michael Brown

The investigations are over. They have already been done. Recounts, in some instances by hand, have been done. Over 60 lawsuits adjudicated. They all came to the same conclusion whether Democratic or Republican - Biden won and it was not even close. What is more disturbing however is that you believe correctly that God appointed Biden to be president but you leave open the possibility that God used fraud to accomplish His will? The key verse assures us this is not possible. For some, the sky will always be fluorescent green but we do not have to continue to enable that deception. As Christians and leaders in the church we should always be found on the side of the truth. Brown Concludes:

"But for millions of other Trump voters, this question will not go away, leaving a cloud over the Biden presidency as well as destroying voter confidence for future elections. Now that the dust has settled and almost all Americans are not expecting Biden (or Harris) to be removed from office as a result of the election results being overturned, is there a way for these questions to be answered? Or, if it is too late to properly examine the details of the 2020 elections, what can be done to regain voter confidence for 2022 and 2024? To repeat: These are questions that will not easily go away." - Dr. Michael Brown

The reason it will not go away is they have too many people like you telling them that the sky just might be fluorescent green after all. Let's be honest here too. Even if they did your commission, the people with the zip ties will never believe any conclusion other than they was robbed. The ones who may not be that crazy, they will probably not accept any other results either. There we will find you, writing reasonable sounding articles trying to co-opt both sides of the argument. The questions you long to be answered have been answered. They have been answered repeatedly and ad nauseum. The problem is that some people simply refuse to accept the answer they have been given. They keep gazing at the sky while someone whispers in their ear that up is down and left is right. That blue is fluorescent green. Except that it is not. Stop enabling the big lie.
