Mario Murillo has gone off the NAR deep end...yikes

Most dominionists play the wink and nod game. They talk up stale talking points about this country's history, which are not accurate, and mix them with a brutalization of scripture to pretend that America is just in need of some behavior modification in order to spark their favorite word - revival! The problem of course is the same for the NAR America idol worshippers. The bible simply does not support this nonsense. All one has to do is look at the life of Jesus to realize that. When He walked the earth there was real oppression of His people. They were occupied. They were ruled over. They were brutalized. They saw Jesus as the Messiah from their worldly politics with Rome. But Jesus' kingdom is not of this world, so He did absolutely nothing regarding the politics of the day. The reason why is He had a bigger message. He had a bigger goal. The Jewish people were overly focused on the yoke of the Roman Empire that they missed the obvious fact that their real yoke was to sin. Their real bondage was to Satan. That is what Jesus came to deliver them from. Nothing has changed since then. The gospel is about the deliverance for the lost from the bondage of Satan and the yoke of sin. Yet there are still sick Christo-nationalists who think if they can only get deliverance from their political enemies then everything would be ok. Most dominionists approach this cautiously, but not Mario Murillo. Mario is a huge NAR dominionist who holds tent meetings to tell everyone how much they need to hate those who disagree with him. Murillo is not like the cautious NAR folk. He proudly says the quiet part out loud and in doing so makes a fool of himself constantly. Read the above linked article and realize what he is advocating for. The wholesale abandonment of anyone who does not vote the way he says to vote. To him, all Democrats are going to hell so may as well let them go. In the name of Jesus, no less. Let us reason once more together through this raving lunatic's discourse.

Voices rise in schools, corporate headquarters and in all the halls of power. Even leftist commentators and celebrities are defecting from the insane agenda of Biden." - Mario Murillo

It is important to cut through Murillo's nationalistic rhetoric to understand what he is really saying. Mario Murillo is a rabid dominionist who thinks all things spiritual are solved by electing Republican Party candidates to public office. As a dominionist he pretends or erroneously believes in the great end times revival that he is spouting off about here. The reality is the bible promises no such revival and one cannot revive what was never alive to begin with. America is not healing beloved. It is decaying. Sure, a great deal of it stems from an increase in wickedness portended in scripture but the majority of the blame falls on the apostate church that Murillo is a major part of. Instead of spreading the gospel, which could lead to change, he preaches carnal politics as the salve to solve all that ills society. But he places his faith in a political party no less wicked than the one he rails against. Please note that the bible says we are yoked to sin and the enemy. Jesus comes with a yoke that is easier to manage and light. To Murillo however, his opponents are yoked to the Democratic Party. That is who he is saying is "lukewarm," a biblical concept he clearly does not understand. To him the current administration is "insane" while the former one was righteous. These are the lines he has drawn but they do not comport with scripture at all, or reality. None are righteous. None seek after God.

Note here the battle Murillo is engaged in. It has nothing to do with the cause of Christ. Instead of Christians, Mario is obsessed with Americans. Instead of their salvation, he is obsessed with his perceived infringement upon "freedom." When he refers to preacher taking a stand, he is referring to those willing to preach politics instead of the gospel. It is not a surprise to see their churches grow since the political message of blaming the other side feeds the carnality we desire as sinful human beings. There is no power of the Holy Spirit in churches that compromise the gospel, full stop.

"1. Your lukewarm friends and church are stealing your joy and your hope for a new America. Every time you get around them, they downplay your fervor. They question your involvement in "politics." They wear you out with their lame excuses that betray reality. Their double standards are maddening. It drains you to hear them talk about how Trump hurt their feelings, but they have no feelings about your daughter sharing bathrooms and showers with males at school. They have no feeling for babies who were born alive but now can legally be set aside to die. Stop letting them drain you! Get with the growing number who are pressing in for revival and freedom." - Mario Murillo

This language is frightening. If anyone disagrees with your politics, they must be stealing your joy? What does that imply your joy is based upon? It sure isn't Christ. When Paul and Silas were in chains, they sang praise to Christ. They didn't cast aspersions at their captors. The result was the captors wanted to know about the joy they had! By the way, no one is suggesting that Christians cannot have opinions about cultural issues they may disagree with. They can get involved in their community. They can rally for changes they think would make life better. What you cannot do as a Christian is pretend that you have the corner on what is a righteous pursuit and what is not. You cannot demonize people because they might disagree politically with you. There are a myriad of unchristian policy objectives in both parties. Historically, Republican office holders have been no more righteous than their Democratic counterparts. Note here also the disdain he has for people who dared to take issue with former president Trump. God is not a respecter of person, let alone one of the most immoral, unchristian men to ever hold office. That is what this rant is all about though for Murillo. He worshipped Trump and anyone who disagrees is the enemy.

"2. You will never change them. They are bent on self-preservation. Their mission is to keep their club alive. The Bible doesn't matter to them. American history and the Constitution do not matter to them. The only thing that matters is to maintain their religious charade." - Mario Murillo

You will never change them? Please understand what Murillo is essentially saying here. He has already established that the good guys are the Republicans and the evil folk are the Democrats but now apparently the Democrats can never repent! He is instructing all good Republican Christians to literally abandon and walk away from their brothers and sisters in Christ if they refuse to be as insanely Republican as they are. In Mario Murillo's warped theology, anyone who disagrees with him is heading straight to hell. No chance for redemption. The ironic thing of course is the projection he traffics in. His presentation is a religious charade. He is bringing ungodly things into it such as American History and the Constitution because that is all that matters to him.

"3. Jesus said to look to the fields. John 4:35 (NKJV) says, "Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!" Pastors should not be looking at how their preaching might offend hypocrites. They should be looking to the fields. Christians should not be obsessing about babysitting high-maintenance believers. They should be looking to the fields. In all of our crusades, there are far more converts than there are workers. We are inundated with souls being saved. Not only that, we have 10,000 registered for our two nights in Tulsa. We have 1,100 leaders registered for our brunch today in Western New York. That's just Mario Murillo Ministries. There are thousands more reporting conversions and miracles all over the nation. Look to the fields! The compromised will tell you that your call to win souls is "divisive." But to choose to postpone soul winning for the sake of human unity is the most divisive thing you can do. Run to the harvest and dump the lukewarm spectators." - Mario Murillo

When you espouse so much false teaching it is only logical that you start to make less and less sense. So forget about the Democrats - look to the fields? But the Democrats are in the fields! I remember when I was saved. The preacher kept reoffering the altar call while God worked on my stubbornness until I fell down at the altar. Thank God the preacher did not think he was babysitting a "high maintenance" person and move on. Mario Murillo is so arrogant. Dump the lukewarm spectators? Apparently, Murillo is confused and thinks that soul winning is convincing people who already agree with you on some political level to hate the libs. Pay attention to the number beloved because I do not doubt them. 10,000 registered and you think they are non-believers? 1100 leaders leading what? This is the arrogantly blind leading the arrogantly blind. He has the gall to talk about being divisive when his opening gambit for evangelism is to dump half the people from the start and not bother with them. Unbelievable.

"4. By staying back, you are choosing lukewarm Christians over your own children and grandchildren. I hope it doesn't take this, but if your daughter comes home from school devastated by what she saw in the high school showers maybe then you'll start fighting.

The Left is after your child. Nothing but revival and direct action will stop them. If you are not taking action against the moral threats that are coming against your family because you don't want to rock the boat at your church, be warned! The Bible has a severe opinion. "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Tim. 5:8, NKJV). When you stay out of politics out of deference to tepid do-nothings, you are choosing them over your child and grandchild." - Mario Murillo

Wow. Bible butchering and blatant threats. The provision Mario refers to in Timothy is literal provision. Meaning you cannot simply walk away from your family, as Mario is telling you to do in this horrific article. The notion that 1Timothy 5:8 has anything to do with politics is a scriptural assault. It is in the middle of a discussion on how to treat widows! The very people Murillo keeps railing against are those that need the gospel the most. Only the enemy can convince someone claiming to be a "Christian" leader that the mission field should be shunned, mocked, and derided. He is only interested in reviving this carnal land. He wants his comfort by his rules and if you disagree then you are tossed on the ash heap. Is that the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ? Do not fall for his quasi-spiritual bullying. Mario Murillo does not represent Jesus. He represents the Republican Party, and he has made that abundantly clear.

"5. The Bible tells you to turn away from lukewarm Christians. "For (although) they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it (their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession). Avoid (all) such people (turn away from them)" (2 Tim. 3:5, AMPC). Now ask yourself, "Why does the Bible tell you to get away from them?" It must be dangerous to hang out with them. They are draining, distracting and disabling you from entering into revival and reformation. Exit their presence and run to the fire and glory!" - Mario Murillo

This one takes more time to break down because Mario tries to pull off a little scriptural sleight of hand. You see, Jesus does speak about lukewarm Christians but He does so in Revelation when addressing the Laodicean church, also known as the false church. I have made the key verses for this devotional above the verses from Revelation because the point is important. Seeing how duplicitous Murillo is in misrepresenting the word is also crucial to exposing him as the charlatan and false teacher that he is. So, what's the problem? First of all the people Jesus is referring to here in 2Timothy are indeed those who belong to the false church (not Laodicea exactly of course). The context Murillo omits is as follows:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. - 2Timothy 3:1-9 (ESV)

What Murillo cannot see is this describes him and his brand of church. Proud, arrogant, slanderous, reckless, treacherous, swollen with conceit, abusive and having nothing more than an appearance of godliness but denying the very power he readily boasts about. He has no spiritual power. If he did he would not have to rant, bully, and demean people that disagree with him. So, the bible does indeed tell us here to avoid such people. Why? Well according to the text they oppose the truth, are corrupt in mind and already disqualified regarding the faith. This last portion means their doctrine is beyond the faith and rejected by God.

While these people are reprobate they are not lukewarm Christians. As the key verses explain Jesus tells the Laodicean church to not be lukewarm. This plays out on two levels. First relates to the neighboring towns surrounding Laodicea. Some were known for their hot healing springs and others for their cold refreshing waters. Laodicea however had a system of aqueducts to bring water into the city and by the time it arrived it would be tepid and lukewarm. This resulted in people getting sick from the impurities. So, Jesus was saying that those that were lukewarm made Him sick. The being neither hot nor cold, as the false church is, is good for nothing. The second level however deals with how we are as Christians. The hot Christian is zealous. We often refer to them as "on fire" for God. Jesus however laments that the Laodiceans would be either hot or cold. The reason why is the one who is cold towards God is merely agnostic and can still be reached with the gospel. The lukewarm however are far more difficult to reach because they already believe they are hot. The lukewarm are spread out now across the apostate church system. Try explaining to someone at Joel Osteen's church that they are being deceived. How about Hillsong? Even after years of scandal people will not see that they are lukewarm. Same goes for Mario Murillo's crusades. Preaching anger, hatred and vitriol is neither hot nor cold. Go back to the key verses and see that these people are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind and naked. They cannot see who they are.

Beloved, dominionism is the sin of idolatry. Mario Murillo worships and idolizes this country. Most in the NAR are not as brazen as Murillo in at least he doesn't try to hide it. He openly admits in this article that the true enemy of the church is not Satan but rather lefty Democrats trying to steal your freedom. He even latches on the a few cultural wedge issues that might rile the base even more. He advocates for shunning people who disagree with his politics. Not disagree with his theology. So, someone could actually completely agree with Mario Murillo spiritually but if they disagree politically he thinks they should be banished from the camp. Just think about the insanity of his position. He essentially believes that when we stand before Christ for judgment, everyone who voted for Joe Biden, or believes in various Democratic principles are going to hell! Regardless of whether they placed their faith in Christ! That the only people who are saved, will have a pure Republican voting record! Do we need to review all of the completely morally bankrupt people are on the Republican side of the aisle? Start with the last president and his three unfaithful marriages. Do we need to revisit all of the Republican laws and policies that are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ? Neither political party cares one whit about the cause of Jesus Christ. His kingdom is not of this world. Do not be deceived by the likes of Mario Murillo who tells you up front what he worships and it ain't Jesus.
