The Truth Behind the NAR Lies About Torben Sondergaard's Deportation
By Anthony Wade
The truth behind the NAR deception of Torben Sondergaard...
::::::::
In full disclosure I had not really looked into Torben Sondergaard until I saw the above linked Charisma News article. It seems there has been a bit of a kerfuffle lately within the apostate, NAR, dominionist church regarding Mr. Sondergaard. I have seen Shawn Bolz interview him. I have seen Isaiah Saldivar defend him. Now they have even dispatched Dr. Michael Brown to defend him. Why? Because Torben Sondergaard has been deported after spending time in prison. While a criminal like this should be anathema for Christian leadership, the NAR eats it up because it feeds into their "persecution" narrative. As we researched this however, we discover that not only is Torben a horrific false teacher and grifter but he is most definitely guilty on the substance. The sadly ironic thing is that the NAR has done back flips to prop up the Republican Party line on immigration - if it is on the southern border. But this is a white man from Europe, who also plies the same apostate church grift that they do so they feel compelled to protect the brand and try to use this to advance the political goals of the NAR. Let us reason once more together and remember, this guy is being defended by the apostate church as they are speaking wickedness against the brown people trying to get into this country as well.
"When Torben Søndergaard and his family fled religious persecution in Denmark in 2019, they thought they would find refuge in the United States. They never expected the treatment they would receive from the U.S. government. Leaving Denmark with only their suitcases, Søndergaard continued his ministry, The Last Reformation, in America." - CBN News
Perhaps one of the worst aspects of the NAR dominionist movement is the utter deception and lies. We expect subterfuge in politics but not from people claiming to be leaders in the church. Torben Sondergaard did not flee Denmark because of religious persecution. Denmark is a first world country. They knew that Sondergaard was a charlatan using religion to bilk money out of people. He was going to be arrested for practicing medicine without a license. In Denmark, they rank the public good over things like being able to lie and calling it freedom of religion. Torben claimed he could cast autism out of people. He claimed he could cast cancer out of people. Before the biblically challenged get apoplectic - I am not saying God could not do these things in His sovereignty. I am saying the grifter pretending to be a preacher cannot. So, Sondergaard, realizing he was about to be arrested, fled to the United States. The problem was he did not have a Visa. Thankfully for him, Denmark is one of the countries where you can enter without a Visa, as long as you do not stay more than 90 days. Torben stayed for years and set up his business/ministry here. There is a word for this - illegal.
"Then last year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials canceled Søndergaard's visa waiver without his knowledge and arrested him. First, authorities told him it was for charges of gun smuggling. Then it was changed to overstaying his visa. The Christian minister was incarcerated in the federal wing of the Baker County Jail in Macclenny, Florida, spending his first 10 days in solitary confinement. He told us he was forced to wear a red jumpsuit, which is used to identify high-risk and violent inmates, even though he has no criminal background.
After 412 days in jail, more than a year, Søndergaard was deported to Denmark, which he immediately left to reunite with his family in another, undisclosed nation." - CBN News
The lies continue with impunity. ICE did not cancel his waiver. It expired. No wait, it expired years ago. That was why he was arrested because that is the protocol when you are an illegal immigrant in this country! It is true that in addition to the Visa issue he was initially charged with gun smuggling and it is true that it appears they decided to not pursue that. The clever little lie here is they did not "change" to overstaying his Visa - that was what he was arrested for! The protocol then is for him to remain in jail until deported, after all legal wrangling is over. That is exactly what happened. He was in the federal wing because it is a federal crime. I cannot answer the charge of confinement and the red jumpsuit thing but given nothing else has been truthful, I am going to assume these are lies as well. By the way, running away from arrest in Denmark is why he has "no criminal history!" Of course, he immediately ran away from Denmark again because he still did not want to be arrested. This is the Christian cause? This guy? Oh, and by the way, his claim for asylum was also denied and in the decision is this little nugget:
The court can not find that the defendant has ever been persecuted, or that he would ever be subjected to any well founded fear of persecution in the future... He claims that if he returns to Denmark he will be arrested and tortured. Denmark does not participate in any type of torture against its citizens... The court finds that these claims are not reasonable or even grounded in reality... We can not find that he has faced any past persecution, nor can we find any potential for future persecution and his application must be denied.
So, our own court system basically calls his assertions non-reality-based lies. The truth is Denmark was not persecuting him, but they did want to prosecute him. So, he ran away to the United States but was supposed to leave after 90 days. But he didn't. He stayed for years until finally the law caught up to him and properly deported him. Oh, and while he portrays himself as this indigent persecution victim, he was immediately fleecing the flock here too. I saw one story from him about how someone gave him $50,000 two days after arriving. He was living in a 2-million-dollar home in Florida that rents for $14,000 per month. Just his suitcases, right.
'Now, in his first media interview since being deported, Torben told CBN News how shocked he was to be imprisoned in America. "I think the biggest thing was shock," Søndergaard said. "I did not understand how this could happen in a country like America, where there's so many Christians and churches and ministries."' - CBN News
It is infuriating that scammers like this are allowed to enter into the sheepfold. What happened here was the law was enforced. He lied about why he came and now he is lying about what happened to him here. Besides the financial grift there is a political one going on as well. The Republican Party wants power back so they will use anything to beat Joe Biden, including lying about this case to make Sondergaard out to be persecuted and the victim. They sell that garbage to the people in the church buildings every week and the outrage builds. All the while, Sondergaard is laughing all the way to the bank. He fleeced Denmark until they were going to arrest him. He fleeced the United States until they deported him. Now he will begin fleecing his new undisclosed country until they realize the huckster that he is and then that country will be persecuting him too. The apostate church meanwhile will hold his hand, help him fleece the flock some more and use it to help their political masters. Absolutely disgusting.
"Søndergaard told us that inside the facility, he faced a level of hostility and intimidation from ICE officers that was different from the treatment of other detainees. He said, "I had people come to me and say, 'What is happening to you? What is happening here? They don't treat anyone else like this.' There was intimidation. I had some encounters with the ICE officers that were very unusual, and it was very frightening to be there. So, in that way, yeah, my case was different." At a House subcommittee hearing in July, the Chairman of the Border Security and Enforcement Subcommittee, Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA), accused the Biden Administration of targeting and persecuting Søndergaard." - CBN News
All self-reported horror stories that do not pass the smell test. Here we see the political end game. Republicans using this to pretend that Christians are being persecuted so they can gin up the Evangelicals to go vote. Except Biden is Christian! He is Catholic but he has been Christian his entire life! For the record, Torben Sondergaard is a horrible false teacher as well. He plays the demonology card and pretends to be able to cast everything out of you. This is probably why Saldivar defended him. He is not an evangelist. He is a grifter who latched on to the church and every time he gets close to being caught, he cries persecution and goes to another country. The grift ends here.
'Søndergaard believes his experience is a warning to the church that persecution is coming.
"We think (persecution) is for the few extreme (Christians) out there. And we think we are safe if we just don't do like them. And maybe it's just a few now, but it's a few now and then in a short time it will be the many. And in the future, it will be everyone who confesses Jesus as Lord."' - CBN News
Please. Right now, there is a Chinese family being arrested for holding church underground in defiance of tyranny. Right now, a Middle Eastern brother in Christ is asked to choose between denouncing Jesus or facing beheading. He will choose death. These people are being persecuted. Torben Sondergaard entered this country on a 90-day Visa and stayed for three years. He applied for asylum and was denied. As a result, he was arrested and eventually deported. That is consequences for your actions, not persecution. It is sad enough that someone like this can deceive so many but to be aided by the apostate church just compounds the problem. This entire article by CBN News is nothing but lies and distortion. Look at the apostate celebrities lining up to cry the victim. Beloved, this guy did not even get what he truly deserved but at least he is not here anymore to make videos whining over his treatment while living in a Florida mansion at 14K per month. It should be obvious, but mark and avoid and do not be used by the apostate church to further this offensively inaccurate narrative. If we so casually lie about this, why would anyone want to hear what we have to say about Jesus Christ?
