The Wrath of Jonathan Con - Snowflake Cries that Rolling Stone Correctly Quoted Him
By Anthony Wade
The Messianic Snowflake is back to whine about secular media correctly quoting him...
::::::::
The Lord has sent a message against Jacob; it will fall on Israel. All the people will know it" Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria"who say with pride and arrogance of heart, "The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars." - Isaiah 9:8-10 (NIV)
It is quite frankly embarrassing to have to report on things like this but as the Con man likes to point out in the video linked above, he has over 800,000 YouTube followers. Jonathan Cahn has been fleecing the flock for years now with books designed to scare believers into supporting Republican politicians. He does so in this video as well. The backstory is that Cahn put out a "mysteries" video after the Hamas attack. I say "mysteries" because that is his modus operandi. Everything is a mystery that he has unlocked for you to lap up. He even put out a video discussing the mysteries of "Barbie" after the movie came out. This all serves his dominionist masters, the true beneficiaries of his work. Anyway, the Hamas video had a small section where Cahn claims that the attack was part of a 2000-year prophecy from Jesus and the very clear inference he made was that the attack is because the Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah.
Rolling Stone, supporting Israel, found the comments disgusting. Now, biblically Cahn may indeed have a point that Israel does not see peace because they rejected their Prince of Peace but intricate biblical truths we do not expect from the secular media. In fact, the bible says that the things of God are foolishness to those who are perishing so why is Cahn so mad at Rolling Stone? Because they quoted him. Correctly. In true Republican snowflake fashion, he petulantly put out a response video, linked above, to refute these dastardly members of the woke leftist mob. I say that because Cahn does, throughout this video making it clear this is not a defense video but more NAR dominionist propaganda when Cahn tries to make believers feel that Rolling Stone and the world hates them just because they love the bible. Except that is not exactly true in this story. Cahn is as usual, trying to con you. Let us reason once more together through the lowlights of the above video. Let us start however with the small section from the Hamas video, which Rolling Stone was referencing:
"What happened in Israel is part of a 2000-year-old prophecy. Of the Messiah. The Jewish people have been waiting for the Messiah for 2000 years but what if the Jewish Messiah already came and most of them missed it. Then they would become like sheep without a shepherd and when the wolves came to the flock, they would be helpless. When Jesus gazed out at Jerusalem He wept and he said Jerusalem, oh Jerusalem, He said your peace is hidden. And for 2000 years the Jewish people have been seeking for peace but no matter what they do they can't find it and when it looks like they are about to have peace as it did with the peace talks then something happens to take it away. Because Yeshua just happens to be their Messiah, their Prince of Peace and without Him there is no peace. Only when they turn to Him who is the hope of Israel, will they find their peace." - Jonathan Cahn's Hamas Video
Now perhaps Rabbi Con does not understand how the English language works but words have meaning. Your intent is meaningless. This entire portion was preceded with the words - "What happened in Israel is part of a 2000-year-old prophecy." That means the rest of what follows is related to the introductory line and what happened in Israel is the Hamas attack. It is perfectly reasonable and fair to read his comments as blaming the attack on the fact that Israel rejected Christ. Cahn tries his hardest to minimize it by saying this was only 3% of the video, which largely dealt with his usual "mysteries" nonsense but that is irrelevant. He said this and Rolling Stone objected. That apparently hurt the Rabbi's delicate feelings, so he is lashing out here in the usual Cahn smarminess, but his defense ends up only trying to serve his dominionist puppet masters. He claims that Rolling Stone labeled him as MAGA because they want to put Christians in a box to cancel them, more right-wing dog whistles. Cahn now quotes the article and then comments:
"In a new "prophetic" video, Cahn calls the initial Hamas attack "demonic" but insists that the massacre of some 1400 Jews has deep roots - stemming from the Israelis' stubborn refusal"to accept Jesus." - Rolling Stone
"Whoa whoa, whoa, this is a perfect example of the Joseph Goebbels school of journalism, all I simply said was Jesus wept over His people and their peace is hidden from them. Rolling Stone twists that as if I was saying the massacre stemmed from, was caused by, the Israelis. That they were to blame. Now the video we put out strongly defends Israel and condemns anyone who tries to blame Israel in any way. But it gets worse, the article says that I said quote, "stemming from the Israeli's stubborn refusal"to accept Jesus. I never used the word stubborn or even alluded to any such thing. So why did Tim Dickenson use the word stubborn? Because stubborn is used in attacks by antisemitic people, as in stubborn Jews." - Jonathan Cahn
Now, read this snippet and go back and read the video language from Cahn. What do we see? Rolling Stone correctly quotes him and for that they are now akin to the nazis? Also, Cahn does not need to use the word stubborn for someone to conclude that the Jewish people, who not only refused to accept Christ but called for His crucifixion, may have had an element of stubbornness. Cahn does this throughout his video. He selects words and assumes nefarious reasons why the writer uses them instead of just realizing that the usage is on point. Cahn continues:
"Messianic Jews like Cahn uphold Jewish traditions, but tout Jesus as their savior."- Rolling Stone
"Why would you use tout? Well tout means to attempt to sell something by pestering people in an aggressive manner. So now we are speaking about Jewish people who think like much of the world believes that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah. He accuses them of selling something. - Jonathan Cahn
I understand that Jonathan may not be able to see it but again, Rolling Stone is correct. Cahn does nothing but pester people! That is his shtick, and I use that word strictly from my exposure to americana, not from Yiddish tradition. Notice what else he does here, and it recurs throughout his video. He takes a criticism Rolling Stone levels against him and tries to pretend they are saying it about you. Then Cahn goes on another "woke left" dominionist rant that includes a screen shot from the Daily Record that has the headline "Teen girl who identifies as cat allowed to act like a feline in school." While showing this headline he says:
"If a child says they identify as a cat we should give them some Purina cat chow but when it comes to Christians or Jewish people who have accepted Christ tolerance goes out the window and you can denigrate their faith. And because they are Jewish, that sounds racist to me." - Jonathan Cahn
Ok, first of all, the story reported in that article and championed by the crazies on the far right and the apostate church is factually untrue and absurd. There was no child identifying as a cat who was allowed to act as such in school. This fake story was in England by the way. Look again at the insidious way he turns a fake news story into an accusation that Rolling Stone is denigrating your faith. They have done no such thing! Cahn knows this but again his purpose is to advance the NAR dominionist cause by bearing false witness against someone who he feels attacked him by correctly quoting him. He continues citing from the article:
"Far from a lonely internet crank, Cahn is "the most prominent messianic Jew in America," religion scholar Matthew Taylor tells Rolling Stone. Cahn has gained notoriety as an end time prophet. Cahn has surprising mainstream cred, writing a series of NY Times Best Selling books." - Rolling Stone
"What are they saying. Notoriety means the state of being famous for something bad. So its saying I have mainstream credibility and that's surprising, to whom? To them because to them to have mainstream credibility or NY Times Best Selling book for a biblical view doesn't fit their worldview. So guys, maybe your worldview is wrong." - Jonathan Cahn
Yes Jonathan, you have become famous for peddling something bad, you know, the end of the world? What makes it really bad is you are false in the conveyance. You seek patterns that you claim portend fire and brimstone just to make and sell sensationalistic books. The point Rolling Stone was making actually sounds complimentary in that they are surprised that writing which is clearly intended for Christian audiences has found some traction in secular circles. Stop with the lame NAR talking points. This has nothing to do with worldview.
"His shtick as an author is decoding current events as though they are somehow modeled on biblical stories." - Rolling Stone
"Ok guys now you've gone too far. You have crossed the line. You're actually using a Yiddish word to attack me. What does shtick mean? It means a comic theme or gimmick. So they are saying to speak of current events in regard to the word of God, biblical templates, biblical patterns and revelations, is a comic theme or gimmick. But I guess if rolling stone were around in biblical times they would have written an attack piece on the apostle Paul because that was his shtick."- Jonathan Cahn
No Jonathan. They are saying you are using a gimmick, not everyone. The word shtick by the way has become commonplace in americana but if they used it on purpose that would be very creative. Notice that the poor victim Jonathan Con is actually comparing himself now to the Apostle Paul! Jonathan Cahn's shtick is comedic in that it is so transparent. The Apostle Paul never engaged in the silliness that Cahn traffics in.
"Cahn first became a cultural force from his 2012 best selling book the Harbinger, which explains that 9/11 was a warning that God is removing his hedge of protection from America as a divinely favored nation because of cultural degeneracy. A far-right religious tract dressed up as a novel." - Rolling Stone
"A far-right religious tract, really. The Harbinger reveals prophetic warning signs being revealed that is not far right or far left, it is simply revealing what is taking place for those who have ears to hear." - Jonathan Cahn
Yes Jonathan, a far-right religious tract. The harbinger is worse though because it is absurdly false. The back cover clearly labels the book as fiction, which it is. Instead of teaching the bible and prophecy, Cahn creates a fictional story and then overlays his false prophetic NAR vision upon it, complete butchering the poor prophet Isaiah in the process. He tries to leverage the key verses today from Isaiah 9. The problem is right in the first cited verse which makes this abundantly clear that God is speaking through Isaiah about Israel, not America. It is a message against Jacob, not the US. This highlights one of the fundamental errors Cahn bases his entire career on. He believes America is under covenant with God and it certainly is not. It never has been. This however is a recurring theme in the far-right apostate church and the NAR. The entire premise of the Harbinger may have well been written by Steven Strang at Charisma News. Cahn insists that there have been harbingers against America for walking away from God when it never was with Him to begin with. Cahn plays a clever game because one could argue that the signs are building for America's demise having nothing to do with harbingers. But hey, Rabbi's got to make a living. This rubbish in PURELY on the right and needs to be thrown in the trash - let him who have ears to hear. See I can do that too. He continues with the whine-fest:
"Cahn casts Hillary Clinton as Jezebel - an infamous worshipper of false idols and Donald Trump as the avenger Jehu, who ultimately had Jezebel thrown out a window to her death." - Rolling Stone
"Instead of dismissing these things Rolling Stone, you may want to check them out. Jehu, the prototype of Trump, rose to power, made an alliance with the religious conservatives of his land, took on a religious conservative as his partner in his race to the throne, and then came to a showdown with his political opponent, who happened to be the nation's former first lady." - Jonathan Cahn
I was going to skip this silly reference, but it allows an opportunity to really peel back the con he is selling and how he does it. Cahn likes to take snippets of biblical truth and stretch them beyond the scripture to make inferences today that are simply unsupported. Because the NAR idolizes Donald Trump and abhors Hillary Clinton, Cahn tries to smear Clinton while exalting Trump and he chooses the story of Jehu and Jezebel to do it. He knows full well the church has been taught of the great evils of Jezebel and how her "spirit" is one we have to war against so what better figure to paint Hillary as. Jehu is seen as the avenging soul who disposed of the evil queen - perfect for 2016! Except it ignores the rest of the story and the entire context. In order for this stupidity to be true, Bill Clinton would now be King Ahab? Fred Trump, the father of Donald, would have to be King Jehoshaphat? Cahn leaves out the best part of course which is that God orchestrated the usage of Jehu in the elimination of Jezebel. Jehu was not running for election to the throne. Scripture says God instructed Elijah to anoint Jehu King of Israel. So is he suggesting that God dispatched Donald Trump to defeat the evil Queen Hillary? Why wouldn't he have made it a landslide? Why would he have his avenger lose the popular vote by three million votes? Why did God then make his glorious avenger lose four years later by seven million votes? Why would the Lord's Jehu be facing 96 charges and four criminal indictments? As well as the overall point that Jehu and Jezebel have absolutely nothing to do with America. It seems Rolling Stone was pretty spot on here as well. The rest of the video is just more of the same tripe. Cahn goes overboard defending himself and trying to lay all of the criticisms at the feet of Christians to try and outrage them. I will just choose one last Cahn quote to sum up this con:
"The bible says in the last days believers will be persecuted. You want to see how this comes? This is how that comes. You see, those who are behind this article see you, who simply believe in the bible as dangerous. They label you Christian nationalist or right wing Christian extremist and say you are trying to take over America. The ultimate direction of a true Christian is not to the right or left. It's up. But if the right or the left should support biblical values, good, we will go along in as much and for as long as it does. But our ultimate direction is heavenward. The left has moved to an anti-Christian or anti biblical worldview. While the right has increasingly moved towards a biblical or Christian view. Now there are extremists on both sides, and we oppose any form of hatred. But now the extremists have become the mainstream left and the fact that they see you, who simply hold to biblical values, as right-wing extremists only reveals how radical and left-wing extremist they have become." - Jonathan Cahn
I have said this before and will continue to. There is real persecution in this world of Christians. Chinese Christians hide underground to avoid arrest. Middle Eastern Christians face beheading for refusal to denounce Jesus. That is real persecution. Having an article written that correctly quotes you but dares to use the word shtick? Yeah, that aint persecution Johnny. But the NAR wants to sell Christian victimhood. They want them to feel oppressed and aggrieved just because other people may not share their beliefs. Rolling Stone does not believe that the bible is dangerous unless it is wielded by unscrupulous men like Jonathan Cahn. The Rabbi gives away the game here though when he says that if the right or the left support biblical values, they will go along with it. The problem is which biblical values? The number one topic in the bible after salvation is not life or homosexuality. It is taking care of the neediest in society. There is no question that is a trait of the political left in this country and not part of the Republican platform whatsoever. You see, the NAR has aligned with the far right because of two wedge issues and they con the church into thinking those are the only two things God cares about. The right has not moved towards biblical values. They have aligned on two issues and two issues alone, solely for political expediency. The truth is neither party cares a whit about the cause of Christ but one pretends to and that is good enough for weak men like Jonathan Cahn. He closes by accusing Rolling Stone of not attacking his words but the words of Jesus. No, Rabbi Con. No. You cited scripture from Jesus, but you used them to infer that the Hamas attacks were just part of a 2000-year old prophecy. Jesus didn't say that, YOU did. All Rolling Stone appears to have done is correctly cite you for it and that was enough for you to waste so much energy and time kicking and screaming into the air that someone hurt your fee-fee. Suck it up buttercup. Put on your big boy prayer shawl and get back out there fleecing God's flock with harbinger tales of hidden mysteries that only exist in the deepest recesses of your wickedly deceitful heart.
