When Your Idolatry Demands That You Paula White - Wash Your Soul
By Anthony Wade
Shane Idleman displays how far his MAGA idolatry must go - defending Paula White...
::::::::
This reporting today gives us a perfect insight into all you must compromise in order to be in the MAGA cult. Up must be down and wrong must be declared right. Evil is always repackaged as good, despite what the bible warns about doing that. The world's richest man spewing hate and employing 19-year-olds named "big balls" to make decisions about your personal information? Oh, that is perfectly acceptable. Some random security guard blocking the entry of duly elected representatives to the Department of Education? That is all good and fine as long as you think your side is "winning." Shuttering aid we supply to combat Ebola and Aids under the insane guise of "efficiency?" In Jesus name, right? It must be so difficult to be a pastor who once knew better but has sold their souls in the Faustian bargain that requires blind fealty at the expense of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today I bring you - Shane Idleman. Shane used to be considered a gospel-centric preacher but he got hit upside the head by the MAGA stick during COVID. He reopened his church at the height of the pandemic, committing God knows how many people into the COVID woodchipper so he could restore his tithes and since then, he has been all in. His Facebook page is a virtual cesspool of disinformation and false witness all designed to prop up one person, the idol in the idolatry - Donald Trump. In the style of Dr. Michael Brown, Shane tries to sound reasonable, but you can see right through the flimsy fa??ade he puts up. The veneer of faux-piety is easily discernable. I do not envy Idleman because it must be so difficult to defend what he knows is biblical insanity. Take for example, Trump naming Paula White the head of the fake "Faith Office" in the White house. Even some die-hard NAR dominionists decried the selection of such an obvious heretic but not old Shane. He took to his page with the most ridiculous quasi-defense designed to throw as much mud at the situation and confuse people into thinking it is somehow not a big deal that the White House Faith Office is now being run by a woman who taught that 1Chronicles 22:9 meant that God was saying you had to send her $229. So, let us reason once more through this statement from Idleman, designed to serve only one master, and it is not Jesus Christ.
"My Thoughts on Paula White: I'm not endorsing " I'm simply sharing my thoughts:
1. I haven't heard her speak since 1999.
2. I believe she reversed some of her wrong theology and is now on a better path from her early charismatic days. If that's true, shouldn't we rejoice? If there are dangerous doctrines being preached, then hopefully somebody close to the team can talk with her.
Note: It always amazes me how the judgmental and arrogant are not open to the possibility that people might change. Not saying that's the case here I just mean overall: The "go-get-them" attitude never seems to leave. I believe that this is due to the fact that many are not filled with the Spirit, therefore joy, compassion, love and grace do not flow out of them. BTW: Spirit-filled believers are actually the best people to confront others " not only do they have the truth on their side, but they also have GOD on their side as well because their heart is right. Again" I'm not talking about this situation per se. But it is something I've noticed over the years. And those types of people will not like my words above. You can always tell what dog gets hits by a ROCK in a pack because it's the one that cries out." - Shane Idleman
You know you are in trouble when you have to preface your remarks with "I'm not endorsing." That reveals two truths. The first is he is most definitely endorsing and secondly, he knows he shouldn't. Shane has to however to keep up the image of the MAGA at all costs pastor. The next problem is the notion that he has not heard her preach since 1999, as if that has any relevance at all to this discussion. If you know so little about her, maybe hold back from that "Yay-Donald" article you were planning on writing today and do your due diligence! I find it difficult at best to think that Shane is just oblivious to Paula White, especially considering she was Trump's faith advisor in his first administration! Surely, he knows how White fleeced the flock for at least five million dollars? Surely, he knows that she did this in most devious way of bible twisting and false prophecy? You believe that she has reversed "some" of her wrong theology? Is that what you call it now Shane? Stealing five million dollars from the sheep by lying about what God has said is just "wrong theology?" Somehow it is ok now because she corrected "some" of it? Is that how it works now? We rejoice that now you think she is less of a heretic than before? When Idleman says that hopefully someone close to the team can speak with her about her dangerous doctrines, he knows full well none of them will and she would never listen anyway. These teachings are not new, and neither is the criticism of them. The false premise Shane tries to sell here is that the wolf can somehow be corrected. That her mangling the word of God in order to make merchandise of the gospel is just a series of oopsies and if only someone close to the team can lovingly correct her then Paula White could be the next Spurgeon.
Now, correctly stating that no wolf has ever repented is not "judgmental and arrogant." What is terribly arrogant is insulting the collective intelligence of your followers into thinking you are not defending a ravenous wolf here! People can definitely change Shane, but wolves do not. Name me one wolf that then became orthodox. Go ahead, I will wait. There are none. Do you know why? Because the bible says their destruction is already set. The starting premise that she is a Christian with bad theology is the heart of the deception Shane traffics in. By the way, stealing millions of dollars by lying about God does not just end because you now will not steal as much. That is not repentance. That is spin, a la Benny "I swear this time I hate the prosperity gospel" Hinn. This absurdly apostate talking point about not being filled with the spirit denies scripture. It is love, joy and compassion to want to see people under the spell of false teaching to be set free. What is not compassionate, joyful or loving is to sing Kumbaya with the wolves while arguing that they devour less sheep than they did in 1999. Slandering people who disagree with you by calling them dogs is as unseemly as the rest of this tripe. You are not hitting anyone with a ROCK Shane. Your hands are too full coddling wolves to serve your idol.
"3. Years ago they were speculations surrounding her divorce. If I've learned one thing over the years, it's to know both sides of a matter before forming any judgments (and based on most of our pasts, we should be careful not to throw the first stone)." - Shane Idleman
It is not speculation Shane. She was unfaithful to her second husband and then divorced him only to remarry the former bassist from the rock group Journey. So, now you say to not judge a matter unless you know both sides, but you earlier admitted that hey, you haven't heard her preach since 1999. So, which is it, Shane? You see beloved, Shane Idleman is a glaring hypocrite. Peruse his Facebook page and all you will find is Shane casting judgment upon anyone he deems as on the other political team. He does so by blindly reposting disinformation, and certainly posting nonsense where he has not evaluated both sides before judging. For example, he posted for days about the wildfires in California and despite not having the first clue about emergency or forest management, he vilified unmercifully the Governor and Mayor strictly because they were Democrats. He does the same on every political subject, including this not so disguised defense of a woman he knows full well is a rank heretic. THAT is what being in a cult demands.
4. Since we almost fell over the darkest abyss we've ever known, shouldn't we be EXCITED about all the God honoring changes? I'm well aware that the world is moving toward destruction (unless you're post-trib). But I'd rather be going in Trump's direction than Biden's. Although some would do things differently in regard to the faith committee " shouldn't we be excited that God is being honored again? ps"The remnant will not be deceived. - Shane Idleman
What God honoring changes Shane? Stopping cancer research? Letting more people die from Ebola? Destroying consumer protection? Firing tens of thousands of federal employees? Many of whom are our brothers and sisters in Christ? Oh, you must mean creating a silly "Faith Office" that will address the non-existent problem of anti-Christian bias. You can't even tell when you are being pandered to. Even if you thought this was a "thing" doesn't the fact that Paula White is running it destroy all credibility anyway? Or am I just being too judgmental? Please. We did not almost fall into the abyss Shane. We just had a president from the party you hate. Now by electing the rapist-in chief we have stepped back? Seriously? You aint the remnant Shane and you are thoroughly deceived. The sad thing is you go to conferences hosted by political provocateur trolls like Charlie Kirk, and you think you are NOT deceived. All your Facebook page represents is radical deception. That would be bad enough but then you cosplay as a pastor and bring disrepute to the name of Christ and the cause of His gospel.
"5. Knowing some of the people on the faith advisory board, I'm assuming that incredible leaders such as Jack Hibbs, Jentezen Franklin, Jack Graham and others are speaking into Trump's decisions and influencing Paula. Side note: Just because something is out of order, doesn't mean that God can't use a person." - Shane Idleman
And this is all you need to know for how lost Shane Idleman is. Incredible leaders? We can get into the dominionism of Jack Graham and the prosperity heresy of Jentezen Franklin but let's focus on Jack Hibbs. Mr. Hibbs is a vile excuse for a pastor. His dominionism has so little regard for the gospel that before the election he wrote a series of horrific articles for Charisma News where he claimed that anyone who was planning on voting Democratic, was going to hell and beyond the redemption of Jesus Christ. Furthering his scriptural psychosis, Hibbs said even if you were planning on not voting at all you were hell-bound! Did you get that? So, according to this "pastor," salvation is entirely decided by what carnal man you vote for. Not based on your faith in Christ and His work on the cross. You must vote and then you must vote for who Jack Hibbs says to vote for. The basis for entrance into eternal life is that you voted for a convicted rapist, with 34 other felony convictions, six bankruptcies, who cheated on his first wife with his second wife and his third wife with a porn star. THAT is who the incredible Jack Hibbs says that all of our salvation hangs on. These heretics have long known Paula White and "spoken into her" only to see her heresy progress.
Let us close with what Shane tried to add in at the end. I refer to this as the jackass reasoning. Essentially it says, God used a donkey once, and He did. That does not mean however that He must be using a jackass today. Something is not "out of order" Shane. A malicious heretic is leading the faith office for the idol you worship. That is not just "out of order." Can God use her? Sure, he is God. That does not mean however that He is. That is a lazy, silly theology. That is like saying if a serial alcoholic with a history of sexually assaulting women was named Defense Secretary"oh wait, forget that example. It is like saying if someone who thinks the polio vaccine is dangerous was named the head of Health and Human Services, oh wait, scratch that one too. It's like saying if Mike Bickle was named to be your junior high school daughter's volleyball coach. Sure, God could use him, but chances are He is not.
So, basically Shane is saying hey I am not defending Paula White but let me try to show you all the reasons why it's cool that she was named to head up the White House Faith Office. First of all, he hasn't heard her preach in 25 years, so you know, maybe she is not a rank heretic anymore. In fact, he has anecdotally heard that she no longer preaches "some" of her heresies that lead people straight to hell. Instead of devouring 100 wolves per week, she has cut down to 50, so you know, Jesus. Shouldn't we rejoice with this wolf? Besides, it is fine for her to head up the White House Faith Office because maybe other people on her team can talk to her and somehow correct her doctrine? Maybe convince her to stop devouring the Lord's flock? It is ok for her to have this position because Jack Hibbs is there and he only condemned half of the church to hell for how the vote, or even if they do not vote at all! And heck, if the Jack Hibbs strategy fails, we can always rely on Jentezen Franklin, another prosperity pimp like White, to correct her! Not enough? Well don't you know that people can change? Not saying she has but you are arrogant to hold her to her words and deeds. If you insist on repeating what she has said and highlight what she has done, well then you are just not "spirit filled" and are like a dog that Shane wants to hit with a ROCK. Never mind her three marriages or how she violated her wedding vows, I mean the second time she said marriage vows. Now she has settled down nicely with a former rock star and even though she pilfered hundreds of thousands of dollars from the band's bank account, heck, you are just being judgmental for correctly citing that. Don't throw the first stone! After all, who amongst us has not stolen five million dollars from the church by lying about what God has said? If that is not all sufficient to look the other way, remember that we were standing on the edge of an imaginary abyss because the evil democrats insisted on helping marginalized people, you know, like Jesus says we should. I mean, isn't it better that we now have a fake faith office headed up by an absurdly false teacher? Still not enough?? Well, just remember you arrogant judgy-person, God used a donkey once.
Dear Lord, if that is not a definition of cult like loyalty and fealty, I do not know what is. When you have to compromise your beliefs to this point, just join the administration and stop pretending you are a pastor. Shane Idleman has long since sold his soul on the altar of political expediency. Now he is trying to sell his followers on the same Faustian bargain. If you cannot just renounce someone as false as Paula White, you are too far gone. I wouldn't say beyond redemption like the incredible Jack Hibbs would say, but pretty close Shane. Pretty close.
