It has been awhile since I have done some poetry...

Weary from the walk

Time and again

Over and over

The anger

The hate

Unappreciative

For what we have been given

For what we have been saved from

For each other

Life is a whisper

That we fail to hear

What is worse

We don't even try

Hear no evil?

We don't want hear no good

Humanity does not factor

Does not matter

We take selfies of our pride

Catfish our souls

Loathing each other

In 280 characters or less

And think we know

The truth

Each other

Ourselves

Weariness crawls across my soul

No appreciation

For the burdens we each carry

For the stress on our hearts

For trying to hold it together

In a world falling apart

In a world that is constantly confusing

Our neighbor from our teammate

Our disdain for faith

Truth decided in advance

The sky is magenta

Objective deception

Accepted as gospel

I need the still waters

To lie down

The green pastures of assurance

I shall not want

But still I do

The sun rises tomorrow

A new day dawns

But for now

The walk drains me

Leaves me dry

Wandering in a spiritual desert

Seeking an oasis

And I am weary
