"Together 2016" - Trampling Doctrine on the Road to A One World Religion

By Anthony Wade

Beware the latest attempt at false unity as we head towards a one world religion.

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims." Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?"And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. - Acts 19: 13-16 (ESV)

Beloved, the Bible does not teach us that there will be a great end times revival. It does however promise a great end times falling away. The Bible also teaches us that in the end times there will be a one world religious system. This will drive people to worship the Antichrist and away from worshipping the one true God. Scripture makes it abundantly clear that we are to be wary of the schemes of the enemy, including these schemes. It makes it abundantly clear that unity is not some hashtag or cute slogan. It must be rooted in sound doctrine and sound doctrine alone:

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. - Romans 16: 17-18 (ESV)

How are the divisions in the body of Christ caused? By those introducing false doctrines. By those polluting the Word of God. By those who deceive the hearts of the naïve. What are we to do with such people beloved? Are we to hold hands and sing Kumbaya? Are we to cast aside doctrine in the pursuit of some false sense of unity? Are we to abandon the Bible to avoid confrontation? Is this sugar coated, confectioners gospel what you see in Scripture? Is it what Jesus Himself said He was here to do:

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. - Matthew 10: 34-39 (ESV)

No beloved. We are to mark those who cause such division. We are to avoid them - not gather together with them and pretend we have anything in common. Jesus did not come to bring such a flimsy peace and unity. Not at all. The Gospel is a sword and it divides us against each other. It divides the sheep and the goats. It divides the saved and the unsaved. It divides those who are gathering for Christ and those who are scattering. Man against father. Daughter against mother. Enemies within our very households. I understand that this is not what we hear preached anymore because the wolves are in the pulpits. They are feeding on the sheep of the Lord. Just as Paul warned us would happen:

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. - Acts 20: 28-30 (ESV)

Oh beloved, how quickly we forget that the church was purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ! Fierce wolves have indeed infiltrated the church today and are wreaking havoc amongst the flock. They speak twisted things about money and riches. They speak twisted things about who we are versus who God is. They speak twisted things about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They speak about bridal paradigms and end time armies. They speak about contemplative prayer and eastern mysticism. They speak about these things in the same breath as the name of Jesus Christ and everyone just nods their heads affirming it. These are the stones paving the path towards the one world religion the Bible warns us about.

With these facts in hand it is so disheartening to see this wave of seemingly once solid preachers and teachers lining up to jump in bed with apostasy and heresy. We have seen it on a singular basis for years now. The Assemblies of God embracing the absurdly heretical Circle Maker. Dr. Michael Brown going on Benny Hinn's show for a week. The Assemblies getting in bed with Roma Downey for the biblical hatchet job known as the AD Miniseries. Francis Chan cozying up to Mike Bickle. With each one we saw more and more biblical credibility cast aside for the sake of false unity. It is all part of the schemes we ought to be wary of. It is why most young gun pastors today eschew doctrine. It is why Perry Noble referred to those who want to go deeper in the Word as the "jackasses" in his congregation. Another mega church pastor referred to such as the "excrement in the body of Christ." To the followers of the false signs and lying wonders movement such as we see at Bethel Church, doctrine makes people "religious" and religion is now a bad thing. That we just want to put God in a box. More stones on the path beloved.

The newer wave we see now are gatherings of people who claim Jesus on some level. We have Greg Laurie and Lou Engle organizing the fake Azusa revival. We have the "United Cry" gathering in DC in just a couple of months. Perhaps what is shaping up to be the largest of these however is slated for this July, in Washington as well. It is called Together 2016 and it is promising to be a major event in trampling the need for doctrinal agreement in favor of paving that road to the one world religion we ought to be very wary of. Sadly leading the way will be the Assemblies of God, furthering the obvious slide towards apostasy that they have been on. Besides what has already been mentioned, the AG has also been in bed recently with Bill Johnson, Reinhard Bonnke, Kenneth Copeland, Cindy Jacobs, Robert Morris, Phil Pringle, and Brian Houston. There seems to be no false teacher too low for the Assemblies to shack up with. In addition to the AG, the Southern Baptist Convention is also going to be part of this debacle. Ever since naming tithing abuser Ronnie Floyd to run the SBC it has also been one hard downhill collapse. In addition to the AG and SBC, there will also be the Worldwide Church of God and the Pentecostal Charismatic Churches of North America. While these may provide the Christo-credentials the organizers were looking for, it is the star power that is the draw. First, let us look at the entertainment, since so much of Christianity has now devolved into entertaining goats.

Hillsong United - an outgrowth of one of the most heretical church organizations on the planet, Hillsong United is the music machine that makes millions for Hillsong Church that allows Brian Houston to continue to promote his false gospel all over the world. While some of the lyrical content is acceptable, many Hillsong tracks are indicative of the new face of worship where we lift ourselves up instead of God. Lead Hillsong United performer, Darlene Zschech participated in an ecumenical event at the Vatican itself. Hillsong is also prominent in the end times dumbing down of salvation that will lead millions to hell by falsely believing they are saved. Here is what is on the inside of the CD liner for a Hillsong United Album:

Our prayer is that you would discover the Author of Love . . . Jesus. His life and death represent the greatest gift of love the world will ever see . . . a gift for you. All you need to do is accept it . . . a brand new start to a life lived in relationship with God. Meeting God is as simple as praying a prayer . . . asking Jesus to meet you right where you are. If you are not sure that you know God, and that you are going to heaven, then make this your prayer today . . .Dear Lord Jesus I need You . . . I need Your grace to forgive me and I need your love to change me. Thank You for your amazing love. Thank You for giving me life and eternity. But above all, thank you for dying on the cross for me. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now I'm a Christian, which means You live in me. I belong to You. I will live my life for You and I will love You forever . . . Amen.

Beloved this is spiritually criminal. To present to an unbeliever such a ridiculous statement of regeneration. To not even mention the need to repent. It has all the seeker friendly buzz words though. A gift for you. All you need to do is accept it. Forgive me? Forgive me of what? I accept you as my Lord and Savior? How kind. How absolutely heretical.

Andy Mineo - Mr. Mineo is a "Christian rapper" who started a twitter firestorm last week by defending Christians using profanity. One of his exact tweets was this gem: "If I say "GREAT F#%*ING JOB!" Out of joyful heart bc my boy graduated or if I say "good job" w a jealous/hateful heart-which is pure b4 God?" Andy went on to claim that there are shades of grey within faith; not everything was black and white. This unfortunately indicated that he too may be just a victim of the Seeker Friendly Industrial Complex.

Kirk Franklin - Seriously? Franklin has just left mainstream Christian orthodoxy completely. He has decided to collaborate with Kanye West, who defames Christ and calls himself god. He has now gone on a rant against religion and apologized to people that have been offended by Christianity over the years.

Kari Jobe - I feel almost bad about this one. I like Revelation Song. That aside, it seems Jobe has not met an event she will not play regardless of who she is in bed with. Looming larger however is her false beliefs that Jesus went to hell after the cross. This false teaching of word faith adherents such as Joyce Meyer is starting to drift into Jobe's lyrics. What we believe in must matter beloved. Now onto some of the speakers who have confirmed for this event:

Francis Chan - once the darling of the evangelical world, Chan destroyed all of his credibility by agreeing to speak at the IHOP conference a few years back. At that event, he gushed that he loved Mike Bickle. The leader of IHOP, Bickle is a renowned false prophet. He claims God speaks to him. He blames God for the idea to start the 24 hour a day contemplative prayer shtick he has going on in Kansas City. He openly embraces such heresies as the bridal paradigm which is ruining young Christian women and the Joel's end time army teaching that does the same for young Christian men. There have been multiple stories of people who escape the cult of IHOP with harrowing details. Let us never forget the murder of Bethany Deaton as well. You love Mike Bickle Francis? That means we must mark you as well.

Ravi Zacharias - perhaps no star has fallen so fast as that of Dr. Zacharias. There is a reason why the Bible implores us to finish the race. We cannot rest on what God did through us yesterday. Today, Ravi is a force behind the coming one world religion. He is quoted as saying:

"And so, what brings us together? As has already been said, yes we have our theological differences, but I think it's commendable that we find a common cause in trying to create a good moral soil in this culture and in this time." - Ravi Zacharias

Was this delivered to a rousing group of Pentecostals? Perhaps some Southern Baptists? No beloved. This was in an address to Mormons. In that same address he assured the Mormon crowd that Jesus has gone home to prepare a place for them as well. No He hasn't. the Mormon faith is a Satanic cult. It was created by the reprobate mind of Joseph Smith, just a few hundred years ago. Smith claimed an angel gave him a new gospel. He re-wrote portions of the Bible and added to Scripture the Pearl of Great Price and the Book of Mormon. Before you go thinking I am too harsh here, let us see what God says about that:

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. - Galatians 1: 8-9 (ESV)

Even if this new gospel came from an angel let them be accursed! Can God be any clearer? We are to have no part in this sort of thing beloved! None!

Christine Caine - where do we start with the latest female preaching darling? She herself has embraced absolute heretics such as Mark Batterson and Joyce Meyer and actually proudly displayed a picture of herself laying hands on Meyer's bible to "receive an impartation of the anointing" from it. She not only embraces an unscriptural role for women but encourages young women to do the same.

Beloved, that is just who is confirmed so far. This seems to be a movement that unfortunately will grow. Their aim is to have one million people show up for this event. They claim their mission is "to come together around Jesus in unified prayer, worship, and a call for catalytic change." While this may sound nice and pious it is actually biblically vacuous. It is actually contradictory. One does not come together around Jesus with false doctrine. When you unify with someone who follows a false Christ you are actually not unified at all. Just saying the name of Jesus is not enough. Just ask the Seven Sons of Sceva from our key verses today. They went around unified under the name of Jesus commanding evil spirits to leave those who were possessed. They were seeking catalytic change. Eventually the evil spirits called them on it because the name of Christ is just a name without the relationship with Christ. It is like when the Lord laments why bother calling Him Lord if you are not going to do as He says. Stop playing around. Stop playing saved. Stop playing church. This quote is from the Together 2016 website:

"Our generation needs a reset. A swelling of hope. A unifying moment when we come together and ask Jesus to restore us to our original design. A generation-defining moment. Together 2016 is a chance to link arms, to lift a unified sound, and ask Jesus to reset our generation. He's done it before. He can do it again.

Our generation needs a reset? Restore us to our original design? Jesus has reset a generation before? When? Where is any of this gibberish in the Bible? Answer - it is not. This is just more hipster relevant nonsense trying to entice young people. If you want a reset, confess your sins and pick up your Bible! Jesus is not going to reset your generation because you took a weekend in DC to listen to some jammin beats and relevant rock. Jesus is not going to restore you to some original design because you linked arms with someone who believes Mormons are our brothers and sisters in Christ or that chanting mantras is worship. It doesn't work that way. Remember, He came to bring a sword. There are supposed to be divisions. There are supposed to be those who stand for pure doctrine and those who like the Seven Sons of Sceva before them, think saying the name of Christ makes you a Christian. It does not. Let me close with two quotes from the biggest names involved in this event:

"Our greatest need in America is for the next Great Spiritual Awakening to occur. What if Saturday, July 16, 2016 was the day that God brought Spiritual Awakening to the National Mall in Washington D.C.? Do not miss Together 2016. - Ronnie Floyd, SBC

"A motion prevailed to affirm "Together 2016" to Assemblies of God pastors and youth leaders by praying and giving congregations an opportunity to attend this historic meeting being held July 16, 2016, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. - George O. Wood, AG

Beloved, the Bible does not teach us that there will be a great end times revival. No promise of a great spiritual awakening. It does however promise a great end times falling away. One of the greatest problems right now in the church is that the wolves run the pulpits. False teachers from every angle now lead people away from the one true God. They lead people to worship money. They lead people into sin. They teach heresies such as the notion that Jesus Christ went to hell. That the cross was somehow not enough. What if on July 16, 2016 followers from all of these false beliefs gathered together for a concert and great speeches? Well, the Bible also teaches us that in the end times there will be a one world religious system. This will be a major step toward paving that road. True followers of Jesus Christ should have nothing to do with it. Together 2016 is using the Hashtag - #JESUSCHANGESEVERYTHING. Once again a nice sound bite but He will not change everything just because you hold hands with the devil. Perhaps they need a reset:

#STOPCHANGINGEVERYTHINGSABOUTJESUS
