But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. -- 2Peter 2: 1-3 (ESV)

It is shameful what modern Charismania has turned the gifts of the Holy Spirit into. I do not agree with cessationists who believe the gifts are no longer in operation but I understand why they believe that. Benny Hinn knocking down waves of people with his anointed sports coat. Heretical schools claiming they can teach the actual gifts of the Holy Spirit. Alleged words of knowledge being fed to the huckster through his smart phone. Healing on demand. Tongues that are nothing but gibberish. Then we come to the most abused gift today -- prophecy.

Prophecy should be the clearest for us since there is so much Scripture on the subject. In the Old Testament, there was no bible for the people to rely upon. There was scripture in the traditions passed down from generation to generation but no written word of God. As such God used men as prophets to relay to the people what sayeth the Lord. Because God does not stutter nor is He hard to hear, the proof that the prophet was true was simply based on if the prophecy came true. If the prophecy was false then the false prophet was stoned to death. Sounds harsh? Not really when you realize the person was lying and blaming it on God. Also, this meant that prophecy had to be specific. Here is the inescapable truth for the wannabe prophets of today:

Nothing has changed from the Old to the New Testaments other than the fact that we now have the final revealed will of God in His Holy Bible. We already know what sayeth the Lord on every subject. There is nothing He forgot that He is now secretly telling you. So unless your prophecy directly ties back to scripture, it is dismissed. Do not speak presumptuously on behalf of the Lord. Have you no fear of God? Consider the warnings from Peter in the key verses today. The first lesson we can take from these verses is that false teachers are comparable to false prophets. Both take the word of God and distort, twist and mangle it.

The second lesson is that these heresies destroy. I think we get lulled into a false sense of security because of the sheer volume of falseness we deal with each and every day. There are always victims behind these false utterances beloved. People who stray from the faith because of them. People who never get saved because of them. People who stay away from the church because of the obvious lunacy. I have spoken to people with completely shipwrecked faith who blame God because they believed a false prophet. I have heard the argument of what harm someone like Joel Osteen can do. After all he is just trying to be positive! The damage is usually irreparable. I saw a congregant of his once post on his page that he was confused because he had done all of the tithing and positive self-talk but the Sherriff was still coming to padlock his house in a week. Perhaps the only thing sadder than his confused faith was the responses from the Osteenites who were utterly clueless that he was going to lose his house. Telling someone in this position they just have to have faith or to believe God for the impossible is not only tone deaf it is cruel. The wolf is never harmless to the flock beloved; never.

Thirdly, they will deny Christ, the master. Maybe not in an outright sense but when you deny His Word, you are in fact denying Him. When you make up a word from the Lord you are denying His actual word and thus Himself. The modern day false prophets all agree that 65% accuracy rate is indicative of a mature prophet. What utter blasphemy! Can you name one time Isaiah was wrong? Jeremiah? Ezekiel? Of course not. The fourth lesson from the key verses is that many will follow in their sensuality. Their sensuality is used because what they are engaging in is entirely carnal. It appeals only to the flesh just as the true Word of the Lord appeals to the Spirit. Fifth is the element of greed involved. The purpose driven industrial complex makes billions of dollars beloved. This is how a false teacher like Kenneth Copeland can be worth 650 million dollars. This is why five of the richest pastors in the world all preach on the poorest continent; Africa. Even on the lower end of the scale it is how someone as blatantly false as Jennifer Leclaire can charge $500 to train you to be a false prophet.

Sixth is that driven by their greed they will seek to exploit you. They always seem to have a word just for you. It is always a cheery positive message about what God wants to do in your life, or about your personal purpose, or how special you are. The bible says they make merchandise of the word of God. They sell it to you. What they are selling you however is false. It has not come from God. You want a word from God? Open your bible and read it yourself. Seventh from the key verses we learn that God is still in control. He is fully aware of these hucksters and their condemnation is not idle and their destruction is not asleep. Praise God.

That leaves only one lesson to be gleaned from the key verses and that is that these false prophets will cause the way of the truth to be blasphemed. We must consider this blasphemy to be coming from two different directions as a result of the network of false prophets in operation today. First the world will blaspheme the church as we see happening every day. You must understand beloved that while the things of God are foolishness to them the things of this carnal world are not. They can easily see the greed as a motivation for the false prophets. They can easily see the silly nature of things like "sneaky squid spirits" and "drowning mermen." When Jesse Duplantis recently asked for 70 million dollars from his congregants to buy a new jet plane the world correctly mocked while the church actually defended. That is how the way of the truth is blasphemed. We must realize today however that it is the apostate church they are mocking. It is the apostate church that holds the pulpit and the microphone.

It is the apostate church that is the secondary source for blaspheming the way of the truth beloved. It is not only in bed with the world it wants the same things that the world wants. It wants to revive the world. So when true discernment ministries object, they become to target for the organized apostate church. This is how the church in America will lead the charge to accept the Mark of the Beast. This is how the one world religion will be accomplished through the apostate church. First things first though. Protect the brand, defend against any criticism, and thus blaspheme the actual way of the truth.

The link above is one such example of the false prophets' network in action. In it is a very brief confirmation of a video from 2014 from renowned false prophet Kim Clement. Mr. Clement has since passed away but the damage he has wrought against the kingdom is ongoing. Let's examine this alleged prophecy and pinpoint why it is a mockery of actual prophecy. According to the article, Clement prophesied in 2014 volcanic eruptions, signs in summer, falls in fall and he said - "Today I will expose and reveal, for you have entered into a time and a season of undercover and I will bring out from the covers, the truth, for there have been too many lies, one lie after another." So let's look at these individually:

Volcanic eruptions -- is it really prophecy to say that there will be volcanic eruptions on a planet that has volcanic eruptions all of the time? This is the first sign of modern day false prophets -- they prophesy that which we already know. This is akin to prophesying that the sun will rise in the east beloved. Yet even with using this scam, false prophets still routinely miss the mark. In 1990 Fidel Castro was not considered in good health. Benny Hinn "prophesied" that Castro would die at some point in that decade! Yes he gave himself a ten year window and still missed spectacularly by 16 years as Castro would hang on until 2016! After Hurricane Katrina in the summer of 2005 Pat Robertson released a dire prophetic warning that God had showed him that the summer of 2006 was going to be the worst for the east coast of America related to hurricanes. That numerous massive storms would destroy a great portion of the east. God of course was having none of it as zero storms reached landfall that summer. Either way, Clement makes the absurd and obvious prophecy of volcanic eruptions.

Signs in the summer; falls in the fall -- the second rule of false prophecy is if you cannot predict something obvious at least make it so vague that you can claim credit. Signs in the summer? Whoa -- mind blown. Falls in the fall? Cold in the winter? Flowers in the spring? I feel there is a shift in the atmosphere releasing anointings, mantles or angels; perhaps even in that order. This is all nonsense that distracts from Christ. Once this silly prophecy is released they can claim credit when anything happens in the summer or if anyone falls in the fall. It is the height of absurdity.

Season of undercover -- the third rule of false prophecy is to sound as mystical or pious as you can while remaining completely subjective. Watch out! There is a sneaky squid spirit! Be on the lookout! I am releasing the angels of abundant harvest! Those are two real prophecies offered up this year by false prophetess Jennifer Leclaire. Notice Clement ties this mysticism to another easy get. That this means the truth will come forth because there have been too many lies. Lies where? Who is lying? What are they lying about? No need for specifics this way any story that vaguely fits around these parameters will be seized upon as a fulfillment of the prophecy. This outline is provided to show how easy it is to lead others to blaspheme the way of the truth. Now the prophecy alone does not get there but this was the conclusion drawn by Charisma News today in the article:

"Given the multiple deadly volcanic eruptions, multiple pastoral and Hollywood fallings and recent political turmoil, this prophecy seems to hit the nail on the head." -- Charisma News

Yes, they have concluded that a prophecy from four years ago that did not mention political turmoil; pastoral falls from grace or Hollywood fallings has been fulfilled, hallelujah! Pass the offering plate! Of course this is how Charisma and the Charismaniacal cabal operate. They had an ex-firefighter claim he prophesied Donald Trump becoming president! He did of course -- for the 2012 election! Oops, just off by four years. Yet this guy now is considered a prophecy darling because he was wrong in prophecy by four years. Leclaire used to be an editor there despite her recent course on how to drown water spirits -- hey it was only 60 bucks.

They will make merchandise of you beloved. Their heresies destroy people's lives -- do not fall for the thinking that this is a victimless crime. They deny the Master by denying His very Word. Many will continue to follow them in their sensuality attracted to the pure carnality of this world but it does not have to mean you anymore. They are greedy and gluttonous and only seek to exploit you beloved. Thankfully their condemnation is from long ago and their destruction is not asleep. Kim Clement has already answered for the lives he has led astray. Charisma and his cohorts only seek to prop him up because he represents their brand. His prophecy from 2014 was vague at best and incoherent in reality. To claim fulfillment in 2018 is the height of hubris, gall, and the epitome of why the unsaved will continue to blaspheme the way of truth. When so many who claim its mantle stand for the exact opposite.
