The MacArthur Moore Mess -- Christo-Feminists New Woke Rallying Cry is "Go Home"

By Anthony Wade

Enough of the faux outrage over a pastor correctly rebuking a heretic...

I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. -- 1Timothy 2:12-14 (ESV)

Apparently the Christian world blew up over the weekend while I was napping. I saw the story about John MacArthur telling Beth Moore to go home and did not realize that this was a seminal moment in Christianity. I guess it is another milestone on the path of Martin Luther nailing the 95 theses, the Great Welsh Revival and now a theologian tells a heretic to go home. If you are detecting a whiff of sarcasm I would hope so; because I am laying it on pretty thick. I should have realized the Christo-feminists would seize the dismissiveness of MacArthur's comments to further their cause of willful disobedience to the Word of God. The bible cannot be clearer on this subject. God does not permit women to teach with authority over men. Period, Full stop. That is not my interpreting the text, it simply reading it (key verses above).

Now in order to disobey these clear and directive scriptures, Christo-feminists will do all sort of biblical gymnastics. They will turn ordinary helpers into bishops and deacons. They will change the gender of a man named Junias. They will pretend they know what the culture was like in the Corinthian Church. They will turn Paul into a misogynist and abandon the notion of divine inspiration. They will point to other times in history when women shined in ministry -- as if that changes the word of God. They will purposefully conflate roles that are completely appropriate for women with the one thing they have been commanded to not do, in order to make it seem as if it all should be allowed. Their arguments are transparent and never change the clear and directive scriptures regarding this matter. Read the key verses! God even tells us why! I know that Christo-feminists have tried to rewrite the Garden of Eden account to make Adam a co-conspirator or even the one who was really to blame but that is directly contradicted in the above text.

So this brings us to Beth Moore. A darling of some of the Southern Baptist Convention, Moore latched onto the recent "me too" movement to further the notion that she should be allowed to preach when the bible clearly says she should not. Apparently there was a "Truth Matters" conference where John MacArthur was asked for a one word answer on various subjects and one of them was Beth Moore. John replied "go home." He did go on to explain that the bible does not support women preachers but the opportunity for the Christo-feminists was already provided within those two perceived callous words -- go home. Except MacArthur was right. Let us reason together through the above linked article on the matter.

"Reformed pastor and author John MacArthur says Beth Moore needs to "go home." He also says there is no biblical precedence for female teachers. MacArthur offered his opinion on female preachers last week during the "Truth Matters Conference" at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. MacArthur and others on the panel were asked to offer one-word responses to given phrases. The phrase "Beth Moore" was offered up for gut reactions. "Go home," MacArthur said on a video clip of the panel. After the laughter and applause died down, he elaborated: "There is no case that can be made biblically for a woman preacher. Period. Paragraph. End of discussion." MacArthur continued on to say that just because someone has the ability to sell jewelry on TV doesn't mean they are qualified to preach, indicating that female pastors are often put in position for their personality and ability to speak." -- Charisma News

With no apologies to those seeking to seize upon the go home message as a means to avoid the truth but MacArthur is telling the truth. The last point he makes here is equally important for men as well. Speech-craft does not mean that you should preach. The Apostle Paul actually teaches that words of human wisdom empty the cross of its power. When I was preaching people would ask me why I would use so many scriptures and my answer was simple. There is nothing my words can do to break any yoke in your life. My job is to connect the scriptures for you. Unfortunately we live in a purpose driven church environment where cult of personality pastors are sought after and rewarded. Beth Moore has a personality and the ability to speak -- no question about it. That of course does not negate the word of God!

He also criticized Paula White Cain as a "heretic," saying that the church is bowing to pressure from feminists. "This profoundly troubles me because I think the church is caving in to women preachers. Just the other day, the same thing happened with Paula White. A whole bunch of leading evangelicals endorsed her new book. She's a heretic and a prosperity preacher, three times married. What are they thinking? ... When the leaders of evangelicals are rolling over for women preachers, feminists have really won the battle."' -- Charisma News

I know this might bother many who seek to change what God has said, but John MacArthur is right again. A review of White's book is out at Christianity Today and it is described as "Narcissistic, dishonest, materialistic, lacking in self-awareness, shallow and trumpesque." The review points out that White encourages her readers to find their passion and a way to make money. She claims there is no Hebrew word for coincidence when in fact there are several. She also claims there is a Department of Treasury in heaven. This is what Franklin Graham, Greg Laurie, Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham have hitched their wagon too when they gushed their endorsements for her book. This is the point MacArthur is trying to make. Paula White has made five million dollars from robbing the sheep of the Lord. She is heretic, period. What gets lost in this conversation unfortunately, is that Beth Moore is a false teacher as well. She is not as brazen as Paula White but she promotes contemplative prayer and direct revelation for starters and her exegesis leaves much to be desired.

"MacArthur argues that feminists don't actually want equality, as evidenced by most plumbers being men. "They want power, not equality," he says. "This is the highest location they can ascend to that power in the evangelical church and overturn what is clearly Scripture. I think this is feminism gone to church. This is why we can't let the culture exegete the Bible." He then criticized the Southern Baptist Convention's resolution supporting critical race theory and intersectionality as well as calls for more diversity in teams translating the Bible. Although MacArthur's comments were met with rounds of applause at the conference, not everyone took kindly to his opinions." -- Charisma News

MacArthur brings up a good point here. What is really behind this spirit? It is a desire for power. A hunger for that which you feel you have been denied. It is the same sin of Lucifer wanting to ascend to the throne of the Most High. It is the same sin he then tempted Eve with in the Garden -- to be like God. Surely God did not say. Yes, He most certainly did. So, if you think this is unfair you must realize it is God you are claiming is unfair. If you think this is sexist or misogynistic -- you are attributing that to God. Your argument is not with John MacArthur -- it is with God.

"SBC President J.D. Greear responded to MacArthur's comments by welcoming Beth Moore to his church:

Dear @BethMooreLPM, you're welcome in our home any time.#BFM2000

-- J.D. Greear (@jdgreear) October 19, 2019"

The SBC has been on a sharp decline since it allowed the huckster Ronnie Floyd to be President. This tweet of support is not surprising at all, although it is sad. These are the days where we see the road to the one world religion being paved. It welcomes all without cause or doctrinal care. The Assemblies of God bent over backwards and mangled scripture badly to permit women in the pulpit. If interested, here is my dissection of these arguments, which are widely copied as gospel truth by Christo-feminists.

"Moore has not directly responded to MacArthur's comments on social media, but she did post a reminder to her followers that she responded to God's call, not man's, when she decided to follow Jesus:

I did not surrender to a calling of man when I was 18 years old. I surrendered to a calling of God. It never occurs to me for a second to not fulfill it. I will follow Jesus - and Jesus alone - all the way home. And I will see His beautiful face and proclaim, Worthy is the Lamb!

-- Beth Moore (@BethMooreLPM) October 21, 2019" -- Charisma News

Beth, if the Lamb was truly worthy you would do as He has commanded. Your assertion that God called you to preach over men makes God a liar. I do not doubt the sincerity of Beth Moore. Sometimes when scripture reveals that our personal experiences do not line up, we must assume that our experience is wrong. What people like J.D. Greear fail to see is how they are enabling the disobedience of Beth Moore. They fail to see how they undermine all of scripture by choosing to alter what the key verses plainly say. If you use a cultural argument, you encourage other cultural defenses for other acts of disobedience. The Charisma article finishes:

'Some were so disgusted with MacArthur's words that they've decided to stop selling his books. Christian Book Shop Talk announced they were pulling MacArthur's works from their shelves.

"This weekend things on Twitter really blew up with the misogyny of John MacArthur becoming much more apparent, not that he said anything really new. I'm not by any means a Beth Moore fan, but his 'Go Home' comment to her has gone viral and not in a good way. My feeling is it's MacArthur who should go.

"... I deeply regret the money I spent over the years stocking authors who I was made to believe were the vital voices in contemporary Christianity: Mark Dever, Kevin DeYoung, R.C. Sproul, John Piper, Paul David Tripp, Alebrt Mohler, Voddie Baucham, Ligon Duncan, etc.

"... One woman posted on the weekend that MacArthur's response to another Evangelical was the last straw for her husband. He's leaving the church altogether. If that's what the fruit of his ministry looks like, I want out."'

The go home comment may seem like a mistake because it detracts from the actual discussion but those using it here to object are not honest brokers. It gives fodder for those seeking to be disobedient. I personally have no issue with MacArthur's choice of words because Beth Moore is a false teacher, regardless of gender. As for the regret in stocking authors it is not about reading one human author or another but reading the inerrant word of God and then obeying it. The final comment is indicative of the verse that warns in the last days sound doctrine will not even be tolerated. That people will gather around for themselves teachers that tell them what they want to hear. That Beth Moore is a solid bible teacher when she is not. That women can preach with authority over men when they are forbidden. I want to finish with what has to be the most absurd tweet regarding this matter:

"I am convinced that some men are complementarian not because of their submission to God but because of ego and insecurity. It's a convenient theology. Sadly, these hyper-complementarians want to be "the head" without dying, serving, and loving like the head of the church commanded." -- Jackie Hill Perry

So Jackie Hill Perry, former lesbian and "spoken word" artist is now theologically taking down John MacArthur. I do not agree with everything John MacArthur preaches but the notion that he believes anything out of convenience or does not try to serve and love the body of Christ is so asinine I can barely put into words a response. This from someone who recently defended sharing the stage with the likes of Christine Caine and considers Bethel's Jenn Johnson her friend. The larger point that someone like Perry, who spends too much effort trying to appear "woke", keeps missing is that those who truly labor in teaching and preaching do not usually aspire to it. They do not wish to be the head because they read the bible and see they will be judged with a much harsher standard. The power and desire to be the head is from the false teachers you associate with. I feel like I can speak for MacArthur in saying he shudders at the responsibility of preaching the Gospel but as Paul once said -- woe is me if I do not preach it! Do you understand the solemnity to which I speak Jackie? I didn't think so. So with all due respect to Ms. Hill-Perry, to quote someone famous -- go home. Take Beth Moore, the SBC and the Christo-feminists with you. The time is running short, Jesus is coming back, and your fifteen minutes are up.
