Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who detest justice and make crooked all that is straight, who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with iniquity. Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the Lord and say, "Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us."Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height. - Micah 3: 9-12 (ESV)

Jennifer Leclaire is a false prophetess and editor at the false Christian website known as Charisma News. She has carved out a niche for herself in the wacky world of Charsimania by lying on behalf of God. As her false prophetic street cred has grown and she has made deeper connections within the network, she has become brasher in the obvious merchandise making of the sheep of the Lord. We have been warned of course in the Bible specifically about people such as Leclaire:

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. -- 2Peter 2: 3 (KJV)

Through covetousness and feigned words they shall make merchandise of you. We detailed last month how Leclaire has created her own school for false prophets, claiming that for just $300 you can learn from her how do pull off the prophet shtick. Unbiblical topics such as determining your own prophetic expression and cultivating an accurate prophetic voice are part of her online curriculum. Unless you want to go down to the Holiday Inn by the Fort Lauderdale airport and attend live. I would hope we do not need to point out that neither Jennifer nor any human being can teach the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is utter heresy to say otherwise because you are usurping what belongs to God alone. It turns out unfortunately, that Jennifer has emerged with a new endeavor to fleece the flock of the Lord. You can now bypass the school route and go straight to the front of the line to be a prophet yourself. The cost? The same amount of $300! That is all it will cost you annually to join Jennifer Leclaire's new Ignite Prophetic Network! Yes beloved, have you ever wanted to stand up and sayeth thus says the Lord but you had no idea what He was actually saying? Now you can and be validated for it! Let's see what your $300 gets you:

Preferred seating at Jennifer's events where possible

Well, that is quite a deal! Joining Jennifer's Facebook group and getting preferred seating when she falsely prophesies seems like the $300 practically pays for itself! But to also be able to align, be commissioned, and synergize; well sign me up! Wait, maybe we should see what the Bible says first. Now, I will be the first to say that you do not take historical events in the Bible and use them to proclaim it is happening today. That is called take a descriptive text and making it prescriptive. We are however supposed to learn from the past and that beloved is very biblical:

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. -- Romans 15: 4 (ESV)

God ensured the writing of the Old Testament to provide witness of the interaction of His people with Himself. When the people honored the Lord, He provided bountifully. When they did not, judgment was always to come. Maybe not right away because God is ever so merciful. Since there was no written Bible in ancient times, the people of Israel relied upon true prophets. People who heard direct words from God. That is what it means to be a prophet. To hear directly from God and speak what He has said. Since we know God does not stutter and is not a liar, everything prophesied must become true or the person has spoken presumptively for the Lord and can be discarded as a false prophet. Unfortunately in modern day Charismania they like to pretend that a 65% accuracy rate is somehow the markings of good prophet. This of course is biblically absurd. Just like today, there were plenty of false prophets in the days of the Old Testament. We remember the 450 prophets of Baal and the confrontation with Elijah. There were also the 400 false prophets for King Ahab that Micaiah revealed. Then throughout the writings of the actual prophets we see God deliver stern warnings to His people about the false teachers and prophets they have allowed. We ought to take note of these in light of the same circumstances playing out with the church today.

So we turn to the key verses today. Micah was a prophet who prophesied to both the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah. A contemporary of Isaiah, Micah had harsh words from the Lord for the Jennifer Leclaires of that time as well as those who have taken on the mantle of leadership in the church but only used it for personal gain. He calls them out directly. They make what is straight, crooked. They build Zion with blood as the church today builds the enormous cathedrals in mega-churchdom with the blood of those they withhold the true Gospel from. The leaders give judgment for a bribe. We wrote about this recently when it was discovered that the judgment of people like Franklin Graham and Tony Perkins to convince the saints that Donald Trump was the righteous choice only came after hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations were made to them by Trump's spurious foundation. The teachers will teach for a price. One example is the fact that it has been widely reported the speaking fee for TD Jakes was in excess of $100,000 for less than an hour. The prophets practice divination for a price. Here we come to Jennifer Leclaire. They lean on the Lord and say "Is not the Lord in the midst of us?" In setting up her fake network of fake prophets, Leclaire claims God directly gave her two prophetic words. Both involved setting prophets on fire, in some manner, hence the name of her new network -- ignite! But she is only practicing her divination for cold hard cash. But beware what Micah portends! As Zion before us, the church stands on the precipice of becoming a heap of ruins. Consider what Matthew Henry had to say about these verses:

3:9-12 Zion's walls owe no thanks to those that build them up with blood and iniquity. The sin of man works not the righteousness of God. Even when men do that which in itself is good, but do it for filthy lucre, it becomes abomination both to God and man. Faith rests in the Lord as the soul's foundation: presumption only leans upon the Lord as a prop, and would use him to serve a turn. If men's having the Lord among them will not keep them from doing evil, it never can secure them from suffering evil for so doing. See the doom of wicked Jacob; Therefore shall Zion for your sake be ploughed as a field. This was exactly fulfilled at the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans, and is so at this day. If sacred places are polluted by sin, they will be wasted and ruined by the judgments of God. -- Matthew Henry's Commentary

Take these words well beloved. If men having the Lord among them will not keep them from doing evil, it can never secure them from suffering evil for doing so. If our sacred places are polluted by sin, they will be wasted and ruined by the judgments of God. Jennifer Leclaire claims God showed her He was going to set the prophets on fire and she took it metaphorically. Perhaps she should have reflected to Revelation and taken it literally.

Rev. Anthony.
