These are the typical nonsensical defenses offered up by people who prefer false supernatural encounters over the assuredness of the Word. What are we to make of his bible offerings here? Let's do the work of a Berean:
"For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, 'How shall we return?' -- Malachi 3: 6-7 (ESV)
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. -- Hebrews 13: 7-8 (ESV)
This is why the Bereans were considered nobler. It is easy to take verses out of context and use them to prop up your unbiblical arguments. First the Malachi verses are God reminding His chosen people that He does not change because if He did He would have to consume them for all of their rebellion against what? His Word. They have turned from His statutes! Yet He made a covenant with Abraham and Israel was His chosen people. They always will be. The Hebrews verses show us the same thing beloved. Consider how your leaders spoke to you the Word of God! Consider the outcome of their lives because Jesus Christ does not change! Both verses used by Godwin disprove His point and reveal that only the Word of God is paramount. The same goes for the seven churches in Revelation, five of which were no longer following the Word. Let us now see the 12 ways Ben Godwin believes God still speaks to us:
