She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. Luke 10: 39
The warrior sits at the feet of the Lord. The warrior listens to what God has to say. The warrior is not distracted by the focus on the world around. God is the only focus. After Mary complained, Jesus reminds us all:
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10: 41-42
Martha was very upset and worried about many things, as we can be today. While Mary wanted to prepare a nice dinner it was not needed. While we may want to worry about failed relationships, our future careers, or our past failures it is not needed. Only one thing is needed according to Jesus and worry is not it. The one thing that is needed is what is better. It is the warrior mentality we need to overcome the worrier within us. It is sitting at the feet of Jesus...listening.
