Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. -- 2Thessalonians 2:1-4 (ESV)

NAR dominionism loves this world because of the sin and excess it allows. When the Jesus walked the earth the Pharisees had all of the power and carnal glory within their own system, even though the nation was oppressed by Rome. Likewise, the purpose driven, mega-church Pharisees of today enjoy all of the trappings of luxury, wealth and fame from being the cult of personality preachers that Warren theology demands. They get all of the exclusive book deals. They headline the best conferences to speak. They get the riches beyond their dreams of avarice to go along with it. The Pharisees had to try and work with Rome, whereas the NAR has decided it is better to try and take over the kingdom in charge. That is where the seven mountains heresy comes from. The notion that the church needs to conquer the seven cultural mountains of society. The one mountain they love to try and scale is the Government. Political nationalism is the final idol of the church age. It is what will lead so many away and into the one world system the bible foretells.

It is because of this love for this world, that the NAR dominionist is forever chasing this nebulous concept of revival. For them, revival actually means behavior modification of the unsaved. If those pesky sinners would just behave better morally then somehow God will stay His coming wrath. Spoiler alert -- He won't. Beloved, you cannot revive what was never alive to begin with. The real call is for the church to revive and repent of all of the stark raving lunatic heresies they have followed for the past few decades. Whether it is holy laughter, drunk in the spirit, the bridal paradigm, sneaky squids, or idolizing the nation and its political leaders -- there is plenty for the church to repent of. This is not going to happen of course because the lure of Satan is strong and they stand as much to lose as the rich young ruler being asked to give away everything he owned to the poor. I have often referred to this collective either as the NAR or the apostate church. Apostate means falling away and that is just what the church has methodically done for the past three decades. It comes from the key verses today, which portend the end of days. Note however that the end cannot come until the great falling away comes first. That is what is promised for these end times -- not a great revival. Now is the time to stand in the gap and contend for the individual soul within the sea of morass that is the modern apostate church. I say this as a backdrop to the above linked article from Jonathan Con, and no, I spelled his name correctly. It seems that he is helping to organize yet another revival get-together and some of the greatest heretics have signed up. Let us reason together once more:

'"Throughout human history, every great society has eventually entered a period of decline, and sadly, say the leaders of a worldwide movement called "The Return," that is happening to America as well. This decline began long before the coronavirus pandemic that rocked the nation. Rather than a health-related or economic decline, it was moral decline--a turning away from God and his plan for America.' -- Jonathan Con

As clever as the devil always is, there is some truth mixed with some absurdities here. If you want to argue that great civilizations decline due to a decline in morality, I am on board. If you want to say that has contributed to the decline in America, I am there as well, although it is too simplistic to lay all of the blame there. The lunacy is in the standard NAR talking point that this country has turned away from God and that God had some kind of plan for America. This is pure nonsensical nationalism wrapped in pseudo-piety. First of all, America was never with God in order to now have turned away. This is however the common refrain from dominionists. They hearken back to the days when children were forced to say Christian prayers in school collectively and think that was somehow pleasing to God. They lament this by exclaiming that "God has been kicked out of the schools!" What garbage. God does not need anyone's permission to go anywhere He pleases within His creation. Do not fall for this weak Christ. This false god that needs our help or assent in order to operate in this world. It is arrogant and insulting to God to limit Him and thus diminish him for our own personal glory. The same goes for this notion that God had a plan or covenant for America. Jonathan Con has written how he believes America was under covenant with God. Absolute heresy! We are not Israel. Do not fall for this replacement theology.

'"It is the hope of a committed group of national leaders that a global event on September 26 called The Return will wake up the American people while there is still time," said The Return co-leader and bestselling author, Jonathan Cahn. "Our prayer is that our nation will return to the values and the principles upon which this nation was founded." Cahn pointed to Revelation 3:1-3 (ESV): "I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you." -- Jonathan Con

Correct argument but wrong man to argue against

I am not a Cahn shill but I do find his teaching solid. That does not mean I am not open to correction about J Cahn just that I have had no reason to see him as a heretic.

Anthony Wade does a solid job of addressing the constant prattle of heresy spewing from the bowels of the laodocean church today and for that I am grateful but I think Cahn is not your target.

I think from Cahn's perspective, and I could be wrong, I have been before and will be again, America was founded on what the first settlers perceived as a Biblical mandate and from Cahn's view America is an age of grace kind of Antitype of Israel.

I am not saying I am correct but that is how I think Cahn see's America and why he wants prayer - I doubt it would compare to the NARpostate fest-a-palooza of The Call, The Send and the various Hillsongs and Bethels of the world and especially America.

On the other hand, I do see where Anthony Wade is coming from and why he should be concerned about what we call revival when most America is flat-lined dead from birth and is not saved and has never been saved - so, how can one revive what was never alive.

Still, I think Cahn is the wrong target for Anthony to write about. I think Anthoy should do what he does best and address the constant heresies from Paula White and Bill Johnson and Todd White and so on rather than pick on a solid teacher/pastor as Cahn seems to be.

Reply to Harrison Rogers: I dunno

I used to listen to Jonathan Cahn quite a bit about 15+ years ago. Then I noticed his messages seem to becoming a little strange. He began adding in his own interpretation of things and I found it offputting. Its a very dangerous practice to privatley interpret any part of the Bible as the Bible speaks for itself. And we elevate the USA wayyyyy above what should be. We callously forget the slaughter that happened to the Native American during our "Christian" (I don't think so) founding. America was not founded on Christian principles, it was founded on a need for freedom from the oppression of other governing countries. To insinuate our country into the Bible is not correct. We are a country that has believers, non believers, heretics, satan worshippers etc...just like every other country on the face of the earth. For Cahn to now act like we are the most important nation on earth is dangerous and anti-biblical. New Testament theology clearly states that the Lord resides in His people wherever they may be on the earth. The days of picking out a nation to represent Him died with the Old Covenant on the cross.

Reply to Harrison Rogers: Well...

While i consider Paula White and Bill Johnson as lower hanging fruit, Cahn represents a more dangerous type of false teacher because a great deal of what he says sounds right. The devil mixes just enough truth with falsity. Cahn outright teaches that America is in covenant with God which is flat out heresy. He is a clear dominionist and his organizing this event gathering heretics from across the land should be a clear sign that he is simply not to be followed.

Reply to Anthony Wade: Response to the above

Can you please, if possible, back up your position on Cahn with some solid information? If not, are you merely using anecdotal evidence to support your position? I do not wish to seem contrary but rather, I want to be careful before claiming that Cahn is a Dominionist if he is not. On the other hand, if you have information that supports you claims or can point me to that information so that I can be informed then I can make a more reasoned decision regarding Cahn being a Dominionist or not - but please, give me solid and trusted information and not just any ol' you tuber who said this or that about someone.

Thank you, in advance for directing me in the right way.

Harrison~

Reply to Harrison Rogers: Cahn

My assertion is based on things he has directly said, not you tubers. He is not shy about his belief that America is under covenant with God. Here is one link from a simple Google search:

Thanks!

Just read that article..

The very first thing that struck me is that Jonathan Cahn is very very much stuck in the Old Testament (old covenant). While the Old Testament certainly is in the Bible and certainly is true, it is no longer the covenant between God and man, God having done away with the Old and established the New Covenant who is Jesus Christ. He is our New Covenant...a better and living way! Jonathan would do well to read and re-read Hebrews until it really sinks in. He doesn't have to reject being Jewish to be a Christian, rather he has the whole package! But, still like anyone who is Christian, it's all about Jesus Christ...period. He is our all in all. I noticed His name was strangely absent from that article (or possibly I skimmed over it?).

Reply to Win DeWitt: Bingo!

Yes. Cahn is a replacement theologian and a hardcord dominionist.
