Gotta love the Charismaniacs. They are so often insistent on proving their points that they cannot see the delicious irony being poured out by God upon their very heads. One of their pet peeves is the prevalence of the occult within mainstream secular society today. The sad part is they are right in that the more the church abandons the gospel for their false theologies the more of an edge Satan gains in this world. The more the purpose driven, seeker-friendly church seeks relevance with a demonic world, the more demonic the church can become. I do not wish to belabor this point today but rather highlight the utter stupidity of their efforts sometimes. The above link from Charisma news has a simple premise. They discovered a new occult term being used by the secular generations of today that is a gateway into the occult. Just wait until you read it though:

"The occult is permeating American society in ways that have never occurred in the past.

Across social media, entire generations are being deceived by practices such as "manifesting" and remain unaware of the spiritual doors they are opening. According to the outlet Oxygen, manifesting is "A once-niche, New Age movement, it had been swiftly swept up by the mainstream. As of now, the hashtag 'manifesting' has almost 15 billion views on TikTok, while YouTube channels based on the subject regularly incur an audience of millions." For those not raised in the social media era, the term "manifesting" is not unheard of, but this new practice and trend has completely flown under the radar of many Christians. The social trend of manifesting is described as "the theory that real, tangible change can be brought into our lives by simply harnessing the power of positive thought. Practitioners of the theory often attempt to manifest different goals and opportunities into their lives by writing down repetitive mantras, or by speaking them out loud, in order to will their dreams into reality. So many young people are seeking answers to the afflictions they encounter in life, but the Lord is the only source they need to seek. Yet they must be reached so they can receive this Good News. It is the job of Christians to introduce these lost children to the love of God. In that love, they will find the cross and their salvation. They need only repent and accept the one who overcame these dark forces torturing them instead of engaging in false practices that will only lead them down a path ending in death and destruction." - Charisma News

Harnessing the power of positive thought? Where have I heard that before? Repetitive mantras? Speaking them out loud? All in order to will your dreams into reality? Is any of this ringing the slightest bell?

'Life will go so much better if you will simply choose to be positive. When you wake up in the morning, choose to be happy. Choose to be grateful for the day. Choose to focus on your possibilities. A good attitude doesn't automatically come. If you don't make this choice, most likely you will default back to a negative mind-set, thinking, "I don't feel like going to work. I've got so many obstacles. Nothing good ever happens to me". The problem is a negative attitude will limit your life. We all face difficulties. We all have tough times, but the right attitude is, "This didn't come to stay. It came to pass, it's only temporary". Maybe you didn't get the promotion you were hoping for. You could easily be sour, "No, that's all right. I know God has something better in store". You got caught in traffic, "I'm not going to be stressed. I know I'm at the right place at the right time. God is directing my steps".' - Joel Osteen

"I want to talk to you today about how your words become your reality. You are where you are today in part because of what you've been saying about yourself. Words are like seeds. When you speak something out, you give life to what you're saying. If you continue to say it, eventually that can become a reality. Whether you realize it or not, you are prophesying your future. This is great when we're saying things like, I'm blessed. I'm strong. I will accomplish my dreams. I'm coming out of debt. That's not just being positive, you are prophesying victory, prophesying success, prophesying new levels. Your life will move in the direction of your words. But too many people go around prophesying just the opposite. "I never get any good breaks". "I'll never get back in shape". "Business is slow: I'll probably get laid off". "Flu season is here. I always get it". They don't realize they are prophesying defeat. It's just like they're calling in bad breaks, mediocrity, lack." - Joel Osteen

"You can call things into existence and command angels, just like God does." - Joyce Meyer

We all want to see good things happen in our lives, but many of us have no idea how to make those things come to pass. Some people think that the ability to attract anything good to themselves is out of their control, and that good luck randomly descends on only a few chosen individuals. However, luck has nothing to do with it. When we exercise our faith, we can actually bring something into existence merely by speaking the Word. - Creflo Dollar

This is not new beloved. Word-faith heretics have been teaching manifesting forever. They have even used the term manifesting reality! It is horrifically unbiblical as it leverages scriptures that clearly state God has the verbal power of creation, but they teach it, nonetheless. Charisma News is correct here in that word-faith has always been demonic because it seeks the usurpation of the power of God - Lucifer's original sin. Imagine the confusion of someone genuinely involved with the demonic, secular practice of manifesting only to think they have been "saved" at a word-faith church and the very same behaviors are taught! This is why we are NOT to try and find relevance with a dying world. This is why we are to be a shining city on a hill. Our light is supposed to permeate the darkness, not enhance it.

To be honest there were bigger stories today, including the ongoing AstroTurf revival movements but it was important to pause for this story because it is not often that Charisma News calls out what it endorses as properly demonic. Word faith theology is not harmless beloved. It is satanic and it is about time Charisma admitted it.
