Beware whenever someone claims the word says something without telling you where it says it. Now, I agree that we should focus on what God has said instead of our circumstances but nowhere does the bible claim that all will turn around and miracles must happen in response. Paul wanted the thorn removed but God said that he would find strength through that trial. David asked for his child to live but God said no. Jesus Himself asked that the cup be taken from Him but not my will but Yours be done. Eckles is selling a dangerous theology that shipwrecks faith. There are NAR adherents everywhere declaring and decreeing what they have no power to do so and no understanding to survive when the answer is no. Just this past week we saw the idiocy of Bethel Church's teachings when the entire church gathered for a week to pray for the resurrection of a two-year old who had passed away. They sang like the deluded prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel -- "Come out of the grave Olive come out!" Yet their declarations did not work because they do not wield the power of God and in fact they deny His true power by following a demonic charlatan such as Bill Johnson. How many people at Bethel or watching around the world will walk away from God because they were taught so poorly? How many will never seek for God because of this debacle? This was not faith on display beloved but stupidity. We pray for the family because they now have to process double the grief. Not only do they have to process the grief of losing a child a week later than they should have but they also must process why their "God of miracles" said no to them.
'Giving up. Perseverance is the secret to reaching the finish line, winning the prize and receiving the medal of triumph. Let's Pray. Father, I confess my failure to believe in the miracles You promise. Thank You for Your patience with me as I wait to see my impossible situation turn to an immense miracle. In Jesus' name. What impossibility will God make possible for you today?" -- Janet Perez Eckles
Huh? Perseverance is in the faith of who God is, not who He is not. It makes no matter if you persevere in wrong doctrine. She once again sets up the readers for failure. All of our impossible situations do not result in miracles that we perceive. My impossibility for example is that I pray that God removes all of the false teachers like Janet Perez Eckles tomorrow. While I have faith, I know this is more than likely not within the will of God for this moment. He will deal with the false teachers when He wants to. My job is to continue to mark them so that the people of God will not fall for their usurpations of God and the impossibilities of their false doctrines. This Christmas season and beyond you can believe that God is most certainly a God of miracles but sometimes that miracle is the manifestation of faith to endure trials and not the immediate removal of anything that comes against us.
