Lastly, I remain torn on Dr. Brown. I just watched another video where he explained why he was not a Calvinist. It was well done, well thought out, and respectful. It just seems that when it comes to matters of the charismatic side of Pentecostalism, he has a blind spot. Is being slain a big deal? Probably not as a standalone issue. But Dr. Brown's logic in defending it reveals the slope we sit perched on when we like our traditions over our Bible. We use the judging of fruit to discern false teaching not to allow things that the Bible has essentially already ruled on. If we want a deeper spiritual experience we should read our Word more so He has more opportunities to lead us into all truth. We should pray more so He has more opportunities to travail for us when we cannot. We do not need to collapse in church. Let everything be done decently and in order.
