Exegeting the Most Terrifying Scriptures in the Bible for Believers

By       (Page 2 of 3 pages)   1 comment

For the second half of this verse, I am brought back to the heresy of Joseph Prince, antinomianism. Prince runs around wielding the grace stick, just trying to hit as many people upside the head with it as possible. His heresy overly focuses on the grace of God to the point that the law is no longer a consideration. I remember Creflo Dollar once preaching this nonsense and declaring that no New Testament believer should have the Ten Commandments in their house. Huh? So, the law is useless? But didn't God make it for our good? Isn't it better that we do not murder one another or covet each other's things? Isn't it wise to know that our God will have no other gods before Him? I only bring this up because of the sharp rebuke from Jesus on Judgment Day - you workers of lawlessness!

Let's try and pull this all together now. Remember we are dealing with churched people. Folks who spent their lives in the church system. Yet that devotion that saw them believe they were casting demons out and prophesying was based in lawlessness. Their words did not matter. Their displays of piety did not matter. Their self-contrived "ministries" did not matter. It did not matter if they were sons of the high priest. It does not matter if they actually cast a demon out of someone or had a prophecy come true. Without doing the will of the Father in heaven it is all lawlessness. And I do not mean the will as told to you by a preacher or pastor. I mean the will of the Father as told to you by the Father in scripture. This is why we should always be found about His work, in His word. By doing so, we will always be working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Not to be in fear of God but rather be afraid of forgetting who He is and finding ourselves on the last day, in the wrong line, swearing, Lord Lord, didn't we"

Didn't we attend church every Sunday for decades?

Didn't we demand our inheritance and remind You how much You love us?

Didn't we go to occasional prayer meetings on Friday?

Didn't we serve in the Parking Lot Ministry or some equivalent?

Didn't we prophesy in Your name?

Didn't we make that missions trip back in 08 to build a playground for that Mexican orphanage?

Didn't we even pay for our own way on that trip?

Didn't we tithe regularly as the pastor directed us to?

Didn't we take spiritual classes during the week at church?

Didn't we cast demons out in Your name?

Didn't we serve as an armor bearer or board member?

And hear in response, away from me, for I never knew you.
