You can only go from saved, to slave to friend. You move from slavery to friendship by abiding in a word that prunes you, and letting it take off the things that aren't fruitful in your life. Says no biblical text anywhere. Beloved, because Kris Vallotton is so in love with this world he cannot see beyond it. He cannot see that Jesus is talking about more than new cars and fancy homes. Kris thinks now that he is best buds with Jesus He will reveal all of the deeper secrets of this earth like why he is only allowed two sports cars. The true reality Jesus is speaking to here is eternal. It pertains to the Gospel and eternal life. He already has told us everything in His Word. Before these verses the disciples thought He was there to deliver them from Roman oppression. Over the course of their time together He revealed the true cause of the Gospel and their deliverance from the oppression of sin. That is how you go from saved to friend. When you see sin as God sees it and you strive to keep the very law that would seek to condemn you. Knowing that while failure is inevitable within this mortal frame, our salvation is secure in the lordship of Jesus not carnal views of friendship. Knowing that in order to be His friend we must embrace obedience; being slaves.

"Learn from your season. If you're reading this and thinking that you're living in a slave camp then I want to encourage you with two practical keys today. Be present.Although it's easy to jump ahead and want to know everything about your life, all the answers to the world's problems and your questions for God, it's important that you remember to stay present in your season. If you see yourself as a slave then you likely won't move out of that place until you learn the lessons of obedience and trust, without knowing all of the details. So don't get ahead of yourself. Be present and know that there's purpose in the now. Let go of the need to control and understand everything. Lean into the process.I know pruning isn't the most fun process to go through but I promise it's worth it. You see, there's a big destiny on your life, and unhealthiness can get in the way of you fully walking in that" whether it's fears, a perfectionist mentality, control issues, or maybe immaturity" we all have things to work through and it's important that you lean into the pruning God is doing in this season. There are things you need to learn now that will set you up for success in the next season. Learn to trust Him when you don't know the WHY behind things, so that He can trust you with even greater revelation. Friendship is reciprocated trust after all." -- Kris Vallotton

Ahh the ole dream destiny thingy. The lie of the purpose driven and seeker friendly heresies that exponentially poison the church today. Realize that for every Peter in the New Testament or Paul there were a hundred people you never heard of. They were asked by God to lead quiet, normal, and yes even boring lives. They represented Christ in their families and their jobs. They strived to grow in His Word and in obedience. They had no big destiny beloved. Today for every "big destiny" in the church there are probably a thousand such ordinary, God fearing, Jesus glorifying lives. They are the Christian mom who raises her kids right. They are the Christian businessman who refuses to cut corners or cheat. They are serving you in church, the community and places where they do not ask for any recognition or spotlight because they understand their reward is in heaven. The big destiny lie always denigrates these people. It cheapens them. If you want to consider yourself a friend of God start with being a slave. Learn to be obedient. Let God be God and work from there. Do not listen to the hucksters that want to sell you a buddy jesus you can laugh around with about violating His Word or lying on his behalf.

Hmm, good questions. God is telling me through Jude 1:9 to rebuke you as the false teacher you are and to mark you according to Romans 16:17. This season and the next He is telling me to continue to hold up your heretical and ridiculous teachings to the sword of the Spirit and let God expose them so that some might avoid the slaughter you are leading them to.
