2) Is it possible to be so deceived as to actually doing the will of the enemy in Jesus name? Absolutely! Read Matthew 7. It cannot be any clearer:
On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
3) Now you are misrepresenting what I said and I think you know it too. I attributed this movie and thus if your friend is in this movie, his part in it. I made no judgment whatsoever about anything else because I cannot. I do not know what your friend does outside of his involvement with this movie. If the rest of his resume is as righteous as you make it sound then I am saddened that he would have such poor discernment as to get involved with something that is clearly not of Christ.
4) Once again, you stretch the limits of the truth. I have judged his involvement in this movie, nothing more because that would be unfair. It sounds like he does some very noble work. Once again, shame on him to have thrown in with this lot.
Do you notice the pattern here though? You keep defending a man and I keep referring to the Bible. That is the point. I could tell you about My 20+ years working with the poor and disabled but that is completely irrelevant to the conversation at hand, as are Nic's glorious deeds. At the end of the day I have no righteousness but through the blood. I do not hold my works up.
As to your next stretch, and I sincerely hope you pray about the accusations you have made, I quoted a verse about being deceived by emissaries of darkness, not that he is one. It is also not that I disagree - God does. His Word does. Now I know His Word does not mean as much to people who were in the first go around of this film but it still means everything to God.
I am glad you have seen his heart in action. If he is as versed as you say, he will admit to you that his heart is wickedly deceptive above all things. That is what the Bible teaches us. But when you replace the Word with feelings and experience, this argument is where you end up. One person testifying to the infallible Word of God and the other swearing that their friend is a really good guy.
God weeps when His sheep are led
astray. Be careful you are not the one doing the leading.
You will account for everyone you led. As for your self-righteous conclusion, I
did not choose to sit behind my computer and judge people. Darren Wilson wrote
an article linking to his promo as he gets ready to make more money by making merchandise
of the sheep of the Lord. I responded and actually only said 2 sentences.
That's when YOU decided to open up this dialogue." - AW
Beloved, do you see how the deception works? He actually does not know that God's Word expressly states that people will do mighty works in Jesus name but not actually for Him. How frightening is that when you consider that the next stop for those people in Matthew 7 is eternal suffering? Once again, I am simply stating that Christians ought to avoid this movie and his entire response has yet to reference one Scripture while defending a friend of his. In the process he has revealed why he cannot reference Scripture - because he doesn't know it. Our last exchange would once again prove that:
""he will admit to you that his heart is wickedly deceptive above all things." Seriously? Wow. God most certainly weeps for you." - Brian
Yes you are reading that right. He had no idea I was referencing a Bible verse, Jeremiah 17:9, when I said that Nic would have to admit his heart was wickedly deceptive. When we leave everything up to our feelings and personal experiences we leave ourselves vulnerable to our own lying heart. That is why we are to rely upon the Word of God as our plumb line. Brian realized I think that he could not continue this dialogue without being further embarrassed:
"Deleted my comments I made earlier to someone on this article. Why? Because it was just useless. Like talking to a brick wall who twists scripture to fit his world view. Literally can't have a conversation, just a complete waste of time. I know who I am in Christ, and I know who Nic is, and where his heart is. NO ONE can tell me otherwise." - Brian
How truly sad. To accuse me of twisting Scriptures when he had not even offered one. To my great surprise however, Darren Wilson himself came to his aid now with the following statement that left me laughing:
