"Suddenly you may shift into a promotion. Suddenly you may shift from sickness to health. Suddenly you may shift into greater authority in the spirit. Suddenly you may shift from a dark night of the soul to greater revelation of Christ. Suddenly you may shift from feelings of oppression to new levels of freedom. Suddenly." -- Jennifer Leclaire, January 2016
Leclaire's false prophecy for 2017 was entitled "2016 Prophecy: A Year of Shifting Seasons and Suddenlies." Please do not lose sight that Leclaire, like all prophets, claim God is speaking these detailed words to them directly. This false prophecy dealt with the idea that we would see a shift in our season. For example to go from sowing to reaping. That we need to create the right climate for our lives to experience this shift and then once we are"shifting, we should expect suddenlies because as Jennifer explains, "When you change your climate unto a season shift, it will lead to a suddenly." Someone please pass the bug spray. What the heck is that? Beloved there is no such thing in the Bible as a "season shift" or a "suddenly." As if to try and appear biblical, Leclaire abuses two verses:
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. -- Acts 2: 2 (ESV)
and suddenly, there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. -- Acts 16: 26 (ESV)
This is what is known as strip mining the Bible. This is when you have a point you are trying to make biblical even though it is not. So you "proof text" -- that is, you seek texts that you feel will prove that you are speaking for God. I am assuming Jennifer did a simple Google search for "Biblical texts with the word suddenly" and voila! That mother lode of sudden lies. Oops, I meant suddenlies.
The real title should have been: "2016 Prophecy: A Year of Shifty False Prophets and Sudden Lies." The first realization is every one can attribute any change in their life to this ridiculously vague "prophecy." Suddenly you may do this or this might happen to you? Way to go out on a limb there Jennifer. At least when Benny Hinn pretended to prophesy the death of Fidel Castro he gave himself a ten year window for fulfillment, and still missed by 16 years. Leclaire gives this prophecy for everyone and essentially says -- something may happen to you in 2016 and if it does, it will be a "suddenly." What biblical basis does she provide? Two verses that prove the author of Acts, Luke, likes to use the word suddenly to describe when something happens suddenly. Pass the disinfectant please. This "prophecy" makes me feel grimy.
So when you see pastor/prophets in other countries doing some crazy things in the name of the Lord realize they did not wake up on their own with that craziness. We gave it to them. With each Patricia King segment laughing uncontrollably. With every "shaka-baba" from Heidi Baker. With every false gold dust and glory cloud manifestation from Bill Johnson and Bethel Church. With every money fleecing scam from Jennifer Leclaire. Wait"I sense a shift in my season from exposing people like Leclaire to mocking them derisively. Yes"that sure was sudden. Wait a minute"does this mean the angels of abundant harvest are upon me! No beloved. It means that it is time for believers to discern these charlatans for what they are.
