Darren Wilson -- Delusional, Demonic, or Deceitful?

By       (Page 2 of 3 pages)   1 comment

"But I had made peace with my spiritual malaise for the most part. This was "just who I am." As much as I wanted to have a vibrant faith like some of the people around me, I just couldn't get my mind out of the way. I had too many questions. Too many objections. Too much baggage from church and other Christians and this insane world. I was pretty much prepared to white knuckle it until I died and got into heaven. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much like church. But then I went to a church service and I met an angel named Breakthrough (long story, I told you this is the short version). He told me to make this movie I was thinking about, which back then was called Leap of Faith, but would eventually turn into Finger of God. The angel encounter was cool and trippy, but it was my encounter with the God of the Universe a few minutes later that messed me up forever." -- Darren Wilson

There are times I feel sorry for Wilson because it sure sounds like he had some poor church experiences. Perhaps he was involved in a legalistic church, which often leads people to the dangerous "God is love" theologies that Wilson now embodies. It is interesting and telling that despite not trusting God and always feeling like a spiritual loser that he still thought he was heaven bound. This reveals the ongoing misunderstanding Wilson has about heaven and hell. In this short story we are to now believe that an angel named Breakthrough encountered Wilson in church. Now, I know Michael and Gabriel but I do not recall the bible mentioning Breakthrough. That is of course because Darren Wilson invented him. Either that or as our key verse teaches us, it was actually a demonic visitation disguised as an angel of light. Demonic visitation in church? Yes beloved; remember the types of churches Wilson all but admits he was in. Darren Wilson claims to work on the same terms as true ministers of the Gospel. But he is a deceitful workman, disguising himself as an apostle of Christ. Even the language he uses gives him away. An angelic visitation is considered "cool" and "trippy" instead of awe-inspiring. Again remember his target victims are youth, so that is who he is trying to relate to. That is why his alleged direct encounter with God did not humble him -- it "messed him up" forever. Right.

"I had left the main area of the church to be by myself for a minute, because it's not everyday you have an encounter with an angel, and I was in full-on freakout mode. I was a college professor. This kind of strange spiritual stuff didn't happen to people like me. But there was no denying it was happening, so now I had to deal. So I found an empty place in the balcony of the church and sat on the ground and tried to have a conversation with a God I didn't like very much. "God, what are you doing to me? What's going on?" Instantly, I entered the first vision of my entire life. I've had sort-of visions since then, mostly fragments of stuff when I'm praying for someone, but this was full-on sit back, relax, and enjoy the show kind of stuff. In front of me was a man and a boy standing in a field, both holding baseball gloves. Now, a little side fact for you. I never told anyone, but my favorite memory as a kid was playing catch with my dad. He was (and still is) an amazing and successful artist, and he had a studio in our garage. Almost every day in the summer I'd go out there and ask if he'd play catch with me. He'd almost always say yes, and for the next 15-20 minutes we'd toss the ball around. It was the epitome of childhood for me. My dad, a busy guy, would drop everything to hang out with me, a snot nosed kid with mismatched socks. But more than anything my dad ever did, that made me feel the most loved. So now I'm staring at this vision of a father and son in a field with gloves, and I don't know what's going on. Then, God Himself spoke to me. He asked me one simple question, but that question broke me to my core and changed my life forever. He simply asked, "Do you want to play catch?" Then He threw me the ball. I cried harder than I ever had in my life while we threw that ball back and forth. It was maybe 10 minutes, but it undid a lifetime of lies. I was always terrified of God because I figured He just wanted to take things I loved away from me and punish me for all my screw ups. But here, for the first time, I was encountering the REAL heart of God for me. He didn't want to destroy me or make me miserable. He just wanted to hang out with me. As a Father. -- Darren Wilson

Beloved. God loves us and of that there is no question. He loved us so much He did not want us to suffer eternally because of our sin. He loved us so much He sent His only Son to die in our place for those sins. He loved us so much He sealed us with His Holy Spirit for those who place their faith in Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. This humanistic caricature of God that Wilson portrays as not only insulting but it is wildly deceptive. It creates people seeking God to fill carnal voids we all have from living in this fallen world. Now I sincerely hope this does not upset you but God does not want to play catch with you. This story, whether demonic visitation or willful deception, is not the real heart of God. The real heart of God is to have us repent and trust in Him for our eternal life. The playing catch thing is a scene from Field of Dreams, not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Note the true insidious nature of this false vision. Wilson claims it showed him the real heart of God, meaning that demanding, crusty old God he had been sold was somehow fake. The one that demanded things from him was false. The real God according to Wilson just wants to hang out with him. This is very dangerous teaching that feeds on our human emotions and carnal desires instead of the things of God.

"When the vision faded, I heard the Lord ask me to stand up and walk to the edge of the balcony. When I looked over at everyone below, I saw hurt, pain, fear, doubt, abuse...just junk everywhere. Then that vision lifted, and the Lord asked me a final question. "Will you make it for them? Will you make it for my people to show them how much I love them?" I told Him I had no idea how the film I had in my head could do such a thing (it was more going to make fun of all the weird stuff people believed than celebrate anything), but at this point I was His. I'd do anything He asked me to do. A few weeks later I borrowed video equipment from my school and sat down with some guy named Bill Johnson for the very first interview of my life. Finger of God went on to become a massive underground hit. With no marketing, it has now been seen by tens of millions of people around the world, and from the thousands of emails and testimonies I've received, has changed countless lives." -- Darren Wilson

So we are supposed to believe that an angel named breakthrough led you to a vision with the Father, who the bible says you cannot see face to face lest you die, so you could play catch with him to fill some void in your life since your youth and through this process asked you to make movies about the false love paradigm you believe to this day? Then that this "god" movie would start by interviewing one of the biggest heretics on the planet in Bill Johnson? Yeah this is not even the pinky finger of God Darren. Do you know why millions of people flocked to this movie Darren? Because it is not the Gospel. Because it is love without repentance. It is playing catch without sin. It is the very definition of scratching itching ears.

"Lenny Kravitz, on his latest album, even wrote a song inspired by it, called "Gold Dust"! It's humbling to say the least to do what I do and to hear how these crazy movies have woken people up to the love of God. When God called me to do this I was barely a Christian. But that's the beauty of God's love and grace. He is always offering an invitation into something greater with Him. All we have to do is say yes." -- Darren Wilson

No. All you have to do is open your bible and examine what you are being sold. We do not say yes until we do the work of a Berean and make sure we are not being sold angels of light. The only question left here is what to make of Darren Wilson. Clearly there is a great deal of delusion going on but the willfulness negates it as far as I am concerned. Clearly he operates within the demonic and possibly cannot tell demons from the angels he claims stop by to see him but that misses the mark too. No, when I hear the story about the angel with the silly name and playing baseball catch with the Creator of the universe I smell someone who is simply deceitful. When I then watch the two Holy Ghost movies I see someone clearly being deceitful. The fake healings in the park at midnight of various pain maladies to the absolute willful deception of the growing leg scam, I am left with no choice but to determine that Darren Wilson is a huckster the bible warns us about. He exists solely to make merchandise off of the sheep of the Lord by selling a God he simply made up. He can give away his movies all week to try and lure you in. Do not fall for it beloved. Nothing is truly free that is of this world and Darren Wilson is clearly of this world.
