"4. As a people group, women tend to be less competitive than men, they are not "typically" fighters, they are prone to be more humble and gentle. Maybe this is because they gave birth to everyone on the planet. Men often mistake these attributes for weakness and believe women are not as qualified to lead. This results in women being promoted less frequently than men, or men purposely oppressing women." -- Kris Vallotton
No Kris. Most men in the church realize these attributes are what make men and women different, not unequal. If you feel the bible is oppressing women, take it up with God. This is not about controlling women or fearing their power. This is about wanting the best for our sisters in Christ -- to not disobey God. Vallotton's position does not surprise me since he has theology so wrong to begin with.
"The moral of the story is this: we need women to rise up as matriarchs alongside our patriarchs in every realm of society so that God's full intention for the planet can be fulfilled. To all the women out there reading this: I want to apologize to you on behalf of anyone who has oppressed you, made you feel less-than or taken away your voice. The Body of Christ needs you to rise up and be who God created you to be, in all of your beauty, strength, wisdom and power! You are incredibly valuable in the body of Christ, and if we're missing you we are missing half of God's attributes and nature!" -- Kris Vallotton
So unless we disobey what God has said He cannot fulfill His full intention for the planet? Even if you somehow agree with Kris overall, this point paints a helpless God who relies upon His creation instead of us relying on our Creator. To all my sisters in Christ I want to apologize that so many voices continue to want to lead you astray and into willful disobedience to the word of God. Having different roles does not minimize your voice or lessen your contribution. Reading what God said is not "oppression." Having you serve in every area except one, does not mean you are missing in the body of Christ. Do not be wooed by hucksters and frauds like Kris Vallotton who are selling a book at the cost of your soul.
To all the men out there reading this: It is our responsibility to take the humble heart posture of respect and empowerment towards the women in our lives. I want to encourage you to cut out any insecurity that may be leading you to hold them down or silence their voices. Let's be their biggest cheerleaders, their loudest supporters, and their most empowering partners in ministry!" -- Kris Vallotton
Humility starts with obeying the word of God. So to all the men reading this, obey the word of God and help our sisters realize their significance within the body apart from rebellion. I understand this is a contentious issue and has become more so lately. When you see someone so false as Kris Vallotton line up on your side -- it should give you some serious pause to reevaluate where you are. This man is a theological train wreck and this article only further cements that legacy. I beg you all to stop mangling the word of God for your personal opinions. Junias was not an apostle. Phoebe was not a deacon. The Samaritan woman was not the first evangelist. The women at the tomb were not the first carriers of the Gospel. The key verses say what the key verses say. You can comb through 6000 years of recorded history to try and find your loophole but you cannot erase what God has said. Disobey if you must but stop pretending God is ok with it.
