Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. - Revelation 19:10 (ESV)

Misunderstandings About the Gift of Prophecy " Charisma News

Charisma News is the most prominent media platform of the apostate church. The CEO, Steven Strang is one of the most egregious dominionist political shills disguised as a Christian in the world. He is a willing tool for the Republican Party at the expense of the cause of Christ and the gospel. Besides the NAR dominance, Charisma also promotes the most loony tunes false signs and lying wonders this earth has ever seen from Jennifer LeClaire's sneaky squid spirit to the YouTube false demonologists of today. One of the functions that the Charismatic Industrial Complex uses Charisma for is to rehabilitate those false teachers that are in need of a public makeover so they can get back to fleecing the flock for the greater bad. We saw this recently with the rehab of Greg Locke and in the past with the likes of Mark "I stole 200K of tithes" Driscoll. A more curious rehabilitation effort recently appears to be Benny Hinn. Benny is what I usually refer to as low hanging fruit for discernment in that he is so obviously false, I am amazed that so many fall for his ridiculous schtick. Hinn wields an apparent magic suit coat that slays people by the hundreds with at his false healing shows. He also famously falsely prophesied the death of Fidel Castro, just missing by almost two decades. He recently had sworn off the prosperity gospel, which gave him his 60 million dollar worth, but he never really abandoned his ways of robbing the people of God blind. Yet recently we see that Hinn is back to writing articles for Charisma who is not relenting in propping up one of the worst false teachers in this and any other generation. The above link is a recent article from Hinn, posing as an expert on prophecy, showing us how false he truly is. Let us reason once more beloved.

"There is so much confusion and danger today surrounding the third realm of the prophetic, the gift of prophecy. Proper understanding always starts in Scripture. So let's start with Paul's explanation to the Corinthians. "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will," (1 Cor. 12:4-11). The Holy Spirit always provides the gifts to His church in perfection and order. When the Holy Spirit moves, there is no confusion. The gift of prophecy is given to exhort, to edify and to comfort. The gift of prophecy is living fire. The prophetic is the flame of Pentecost. It is what activates all other gifts." - Benny Hinn

Benny is a slippery fellow, so it is important to cut through the nonsense. His schtick relies heavily upon mystifying what he speaks about, so he sounds more pious and you become more confused. Thus, the more confused you are, the more likely you are to rely on what he is saying as true, which it is not. When he opens with the concept of the third realm of prophecy, he is referring to his own teaching, that there are four realms of prophecy. He defines the first realm as the word of God. The second Benny claims is the preaching of the gospel under the anointing, which he bases on not understanding the key verse today. Prophecy in the bible is the revelation of Christ as the Savior. The entire bible points to Jesus. So, when John starts to bow down to the angel in the key verse he is corrected because both he and the angel are the same in that they bear witness to Christ and His salvation, which is the spirit of all prophecy. Now, Benny can't sell that because it reveals his falseness as he is a modern-day false prophet who has changed the true spirit of prophecy into a parlor trick of clairvoyance and psychic schemes. Hinn's third realm of prophecy is the gift of prophecy and the fourth is what he refers to as the office. The distractions here are to mystify. There is nothing in these verses about the gift of prophecy being living fire. Nothing about the flame of Pentecost. Certainly nothing about prophecy "activating all other gifts." Hinn trumps prophecy up because he sells himself as a prophet. So of course, his "office" activates everything else. He sells himself as Elijah in an age where we no longer need Elijah. We have the final revealed will of God in the written word. God did not forget to include something that He is now revealing to Benny Hinn, I assure you. Thus, the true gift of prophecy today is stating a prophetic truth already contained in scripture. I do not need anything extra-biblical from anyone, let alone someone who waves his coat over crowds to get them to fall down, pretending that it is the spirit of God.

"Now, the gift must be judged. You and I are not permitted to judge the one who prophesies. We are, however, permitted to judge the gift. I'll repeat that because it is very important. God does not permit us to judge the one God uses, but we are to judge the gift flowing in the church. Part of the confusion today is that people are judging those whom God uses. But we have no right to do that. We are to judge what they say; we are not to judge them personally." - Benny Hinn

So, we come to the real reason behind this article - to protect the brand. The notion that we are to judge only the gift and not the giver is asinine and falsely assumes that everyone who says they are speaking for God actually heard from God. Not only are we permitted but we are REQUIRED to judge what is false within the church and thus by definition, the one who brought the falseness. I am reminded of Dr, Michael Brown' fantastic book exposing the dangers of the greasy grace preaching of antinomianism. The absolute king of greasy grace is for this generation Joseph Prince. Yet despite this truth, Brown still embraces this wolf as "a brother in Christ who has some holes in his theology." No Michael, he is a voracious wolf devouring the sheep and you allow it. Writing a book on a false teaching is USELESSS without naming those that preach it falsely. All of the Charisma News false prophets all falsely prophesied regarding the last presidential election yet according to Benny we are not permitted to judge them, which is absurd. By the way, it is not personal. We do not judge false prophets by picking on how they dress, just what they say. Benny is trying to teach this because he was judged correctly as a false prophet in the 1990s over the Fidel Castro prophecy. He gave himself a decade to be right and still missed by 20 years. Let us not lose sight of what this means. Benny Hinn claimed to have heard from God and missed by decades. Thus, he is a false prophet forever!
